Saints:

Some prayer requests are hard to write, because proper words fail me,
and this is one of those times. I have known Spanky most all of my 62 plus
years, and we have been dear close friends for more than thirty. We have
gone fishing, and hunting together a few times, and have enjoyed each others
company probably over 500 times in playing golf. We have seen each other in
church almost every week for sixty plus years. Having said all of that, I
don't know what work the Lord is doing in Spanky's heart, but the Lord Jesus
Christ, the heart examiner does. And I think all who read this know in
their own heart that Jesus is coming soon, very soon.

Yesterday Spanky was told by his Doctor's that they had done all
they could do for him. The chemo treatments he went through had only minor
results, and his odds of improving with further treatments are minimal. They
gave him a few months to live.

Well, what do they know? Dear old Sister Hewitt years ago was told
by the Doctors that if she didn't have a historectomy that she would die
too! And she did.... some sixty plus years later well into her nineties! She trusted the Lord
for her health, and never did have the surgery. My Mom was told by a Doctor in
1967 that she would die of throat cancer within six months. She turned to
the Great Physician for help, and didn't visit a Doctor until after she had a
stroke some twenty years or more later! She just turned 84, and continues
to seek God's best for her life. And the Lord healed her from her stroke too!

Sister Lydia Clayberg was told she only had a few months to live because
of her cancer, and she died too.... more than six years later, when the Lord
was finished perfecting her. Many others we know too have been told these
very same things by the Doctors, but in all these instances the Lord knew
what He was doing, and how long each and every one of us have left on this
earth. Sister Marianne Vitak also refused to let the Doctors give her an
expiration date, knowing that when the Lord was finished with her down here on
earth, he would take her home. And He did in His time, on His terms.

As we continue to lift dear o Spanky up in prayer, may we all
realize that our life is just a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then
vanisheth away... (JAMES 4:14). Soon, and very soon we all will vanish
away. May we all be looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing
of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.... TITUS 2:13.

One more thing. Spanky's life affects us all. Especially those
closest to him. So in your prayers for Spanky, lift up his wife Ruth too. And
his kids Tami, and her husband Tim, and Todd, and the grandkids: Bobbi,
Seth, and Johnny.

The Lord doeth all things well. He ain't finished with us yet!!!
Keep looking up old soldier!!! May the Lord give you peace and comfort at
this time.
Ty

I continue with prayers for Spanky, and have now added names to go along with 'his family'.

Our Lord God does indeed know what He is about with each of us. And while each of us mere humans would prefer to never know pain (of any sort), that isn't exactly how life rolls along. Only with complete faith and assurance in our Lord can we face the challenges; and through His love, we know we are not alone.
