THE FESH IS YOUR EMOTIONS (UNCLEAN SPIRITS)

2 Cor 7:1

1Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

James 4:1-4

1Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

2You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.

3You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

4Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Gal 5:16-17

16I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

17For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

Matt 18:8-9

8"If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.

9"And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

Rom 7:13-21

13Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.

14For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.

16If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.

17But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.

19For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.

20Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

21I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.

Rom 9:16-21

16So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

17For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth."

18Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

19You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?"

20But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?"

21Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

2 Tim 2:24-26

24And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,

25in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,

26and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

Eph 2:2-5

2in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

3among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

2 Cor 5:19

19that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Mark 1:15

15and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."

1 Pet 4:1-2

1Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

2that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

Gal 5:18

18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Gal 5:24

24And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Gal 5:18-21

18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

20idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,

21envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

John 14:26

26"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

2 Cor 5:5

5Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

Matt 11:12-13

12"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

13"For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

2 Cor 10:3-5

3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

4For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

5casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Gal 6:8-9

8For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

9And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Rom 13:13-14

13Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

xxx Emotions or passions are unclean spirits. They enfluence us by very strong feelings. They agree with the devil. They are part of our outer person. Our inner man is our spirit and soul. Our spirit is the mind of our inner man, and our soul is the body of our inner man. Our outer person is where the unclean spirits live and the devil and our guardian angel. Our guardian angel gives us the right thoughts and the devil gives us the wrong thoughts. We need the Holy Spirit(verses) to discern who is who. Unclean spirits only torment us when we are not feeding them. when we are giving into them or feeding them they dont torment us they make us feel good because we are feeding them. And they get stronger and stronger. Until they control us.

Rom 12:1-3

1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

3For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

(NKJ)

Col 3:5-10

5Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

6Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,

7in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

8But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

9Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

10and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

(NKJ)

Gal 5:18-21

1 Tim 6:7-9

7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

9But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Gal 6:14

14But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Matt 12:43-45

43"When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.

44"Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

45"Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation."

James 4:17

17Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Luke 9:54-55

54And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?"

55But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.

Rev 13:11-13

11Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.

12And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.

(NKJ)

Luke 9:55

55But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.

1 Cor 7:9

9but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

1Thes 4:3-5

3For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;

4that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,

It actually saddens me that you have come to this conclusion, and that you suffer such internal unrest.
Jesus said that all who are weary, could come to Him, and He would give them rest.

It's sad when we work so hard, we forget where our hope is... reminds me of an old saying. It goes,

No rest for the wicked.

When we've worn ourselves out by trying to earn and pay for that which is free, then we will begin to realize Gods rest has always been there.

Grace and peace.

What saddens me is people that think that Jesus went through all that suffering to set us an example to follow. And we don't have to follow it. Makes me wonder why would Jesus go through all that just to say its free. Peter followed Jesus example and suffered, Paul followed Jesus example and suffered.
You must really think your something if all them had to suffer but you don't have to.

[1Pe 2:21-22
21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 "Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth";

Suffering is a reality of the world we live in. The writer of Hebrews even states that Christ was perfected through His suffering, and I expect no less.

As far as that which is free, everything has its cost. It's simply the matter of who paid the debt.

Isaiah 55:7. Niv
Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

My reply to you earlier was in regard to what you had written about our emotions and passions being unclean spirits. Our emotions are part of our human experience, and human suffering can cause the most painful emotions, while the cry of your newborn child can cause some of the best emotions.

Same with our passions. When a man and woman become one, it is very beautiful.

In other words, our emotions and passions can be beautiful even in the midst of great sorrow. But let the run wild and they can ruin a good person.

As with everything in life, it has to be in balance. Cookies are good, but eat nothing but cookies and they can be bad.

The suffering of Christ was not the example as love is the example of Christ for others that no greater love is there than to lay one's life down for another, John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. This is God's free gift of grace that by the sacrifice Christ endured for all of us is that through that love we can all have eternal life with the Father to all who will come to Him.

This is grace of God's only begotten Son that He paid the ultimate sacrifice that we can be reconciled back to the Father by His grace that we receive the promise of our inheritance of eternal life with the Father, John 3:16. Those who have died a martyr's death do so for their witness and testimony of Christ as by faith we take the Gospel message to the world and fear not what the world can do to us, just as the Prophet's and Apostles feared not for their own life, Matthew 10:28.

I said
It was Gods grace, not ours. In His grace He sent Jesus with the law of Christ to follow.

Do you really think the example of Jesus was the suffering, or was it love?

I said
Without suffering wrongfully there is not love involved.

Actually the answer to the question I asked is found both in the OT and NT.

Prophesied in Isaiah - 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Fulfillment - in John 12:38-50; Romans 10:16-21; Mark 15:32-47, 1 Peter 2:21-25; Acts 8:32, 33; Corinthians 15:3, 4

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

This is why we need the OT and NT teachings as it was foretold the sufferings of Christ and the fulfillment of that suffering Jesus went through was God's great love He has for His creation. God gave His only begotten Son in whom was before the foundation of the world for such a time as this who paid the price for all our iniquity as by God's grace we through faith that is Christ Jesus can be Spiritually renewed again in our inner man that now no's no sin as it is made righteous by God's righteousness and not our own. Flesh will always fight against the Spirit as it is contrary to it, Galatians 5:13-26.
