In Matthew Chapter 13, Christ speaks about the "Kingdom of the Heavens" (Matt. 13:10-11), and that a "sower went out" (Matt. 13:3). He identifies the sower as Him self (Matt. 13:37). This is not about the Church of True believers (born again) but about the world of Christendom. "The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man (Christ) took and sowed in His field (world)," which indeed is the least (smallest) of all seeds: But when it is grown is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches of it."
Many take this as the gospel is spread around the world until all are saved, But God is not saving the world at this time, (He is calling out the Church) (His Body of true believers) (Acts 15:13-18; Eph. 2:11-18). It is during the tribulation the multitude of men will be saved (Matt. 24:14) (Rev. 7:9-17). When mustard produces it's fruit and is mature...it is a bush. But when it has grown into a tree it has become wild and produces no fruit, and what about the birds? It is Satan (evil one) (Matt. 13:3-4; 18-19). What we see in our age is huge magnificent church buildings with pastors making huge sums of money. I listened to a radio commercial the other day of a pastor advertising to listen to His program and he would tell you how to hear what or when the Lord is speaking. It you have to be instructed on how to hear the Lord or when He is speaking.....you will never hear Him, for Salvation is a personal relationship with the Lord. The body of born again believers is small, Christendom is world wide. The multitude believe men, only a few believe God. The visible church has grown so wild that even Satan (birds) can rest in the pews of those congregations. Church of Laodicea!.....Notice, Christ is outside the door knocking, not asking them to come out, but can He come in. (Rev. 3:20-22) We were buried in the likeness of His death, and raised in the likeness of His life. The question is: are we dead yet...dead to self ……… and living unto Christ?

A matured Mustard bush can grow from 6 to 20 feet tall and even 30 feet tall depending on the condition of the ground. They produce greenish yellow flowers that produce fruit that can be consumed raw, dried or cooked.

Matthew 13 is a parable of where the mustard seed (the gospel) is sowed as it will only produce fruit in those who receive the gospel message.

Satan can not steal anything that one does not have yet. The way side means those who are lovers of self and the world. They just don't want to hear the Gospel because they do not care. The stoney places and thorns meaning little soil are those who hear the Gospel and maybe go to Church, but only give lip service to the Lord. These are the ones that will hear Jesus say I never knew you, Matthew 7:21; 25:41-46. Other seeds (Gospel) fell on good ground that became grounded in Christ.

Agreed the birds are Satan. Did they eat all the fruit?

It is a prediction and a warning. Believers and unbelievers are mixed up together. We cannot allow Satan to deceive us.

Revelation 14:12 NKJV

"Here is the patience of the saints here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus."

Hi glory, I'm surprised of your lack of knowledge. Those trees you talk about are from a different seed that is no where as small as the mustard seed Christ is talking about. You are wrong.

After going back to read what I posted I take back using the word mustard seed in the parable of the soils as it only says seed.

Matthew 13 has nothing to do with a mustard seed nor does it mention a mustard seed as this is a parable about the types of soil, (people), that the seed (word of God) is planted in. They either receive the word and keep it, or they receive the word, but soon walk away from it as they allow Satan to steal it from them then you have people that just don't want to accept His word at all.

If you go to Matthew 17:20 mustard seed is actually used in that verse as a comparison of faith
