The next vision takes place at a shore where a beast can be seen emerging from the sea.
This beast has seven heads and ten horns;
- six heads with one crown each,
- one head with four, - an empire

Besides the beast, there is a reference to the leviathan frolicking in the waves, the peoples and nations represented by the sea.
The dragon works behind the scenes, he pulls all the strings.

The first mention of a commander that receives a mortal wound to the head is Abimelek, who while storming the walls of a city had his skull crushed by a millstone thrown by a woman.

This beast will, as in the case of Sennacherib, blaspheme and will die separated from his army.
Saul is the first to wage war against the saints when he massacres almost the entire priesthood.
The phrase that refers to those destined for captivity and those destined for the sword, comes verbatim from the verses that describe Sennacherib.

A second beast makes his appearance.
This is one that arises from the depths of the earth as per the supposed spirit of Samuel that appeared before Saul.
This same beast is earlier mentioned as emerging and killing the two witnesses.
This beast will create a cult based on the miraculous healing of the first beast, to include signs and wonders.
The example set by Nebuchadnezzar will be followed when not only the leadership of the coming empire is assembled to worship the beasts image, the merchants are included.

The idea of placing a mark on the forehead and hand comes straight from the law where it states that we are to have the word on our forehead and hand - the word in thought and action.
The mark denotes authority over the individual.

The phrase that describes those that buy and sell refers not to consumers, but merchants such as those that will later lament the fall of Babylon.

The best example of this relationship is to be seen in Nehemiah.
He rebuilds the walls of Jerusalem.
They are then able to tax the merchants that are passing through their province.
The walls are an incentive for others to resettle.
The taxes will finance infrastructure.
Keep in mind that merchants cannot trade except by the authority of the ruler.

Three sixes.
God will sometimes state things three times for emphasis.
6 is the number of man
x7 nations that will attack Israel.
=42 months of tribulation.
There is the implication that those present in the end times will see the coming danger, and that their only clue will be that of seven nations that are about to invade.

I'm curious rdclmn7, are these allusions and comparisons to O.T. events your own ideas, or from some publication?

What you are leading to is not clear to me. It appears that it is just your commentary on part of the book of Revelation.

To where is it leading?
