What new revelation did Jesus bring to the world?

He revealed to us that God’s love for us is so great that although we betrayed Him and were unfaithful to Him, He humbled Himself to take a human form and suffered the most painful death in order to free us from the slavery of sin. Furthermore, He commanded us to love one another the same as He has loved us (John 15:12). He also tells us that if we love Him we will keep His commandments (John 14:21). Should not we, therefore, sacrifice our life for even those who hurt us and are unfaithful to us?

Ah arunangelo, Beware of what you offer. For there are many here that do not seem to 'understand this'. Many that 'seem' to believe that we are ONLY to offer our loyalty and love to those that are our families or friends. Choosing to separate themselves from their brothers and sisters for the sake of 'denomination' over TRUTH.

You ARE absolutely correct and I find it refreshing that you have offered this. It shows that at least 'some' understand what it IS that Christ CAME to offer. Not 'self love' but that which we are to offer to ALL men regardless of their faith or lack there of.

It is often hard to separate the person from their 'beliefs'. This makes it EASY for us to 'believe' that our enemies ARE to be distrusted and defend ourselves 'against' them. But IF 'faith' prevails, we learn that it doesn't really matter what our enemies DO to us, we have the assurance of God that ALL works for GOOD to those that LOVE Him.

So NO MAN can 'take' anything from us that matters unless we ALLOW IT. For our faith belongs to US and US ALONE. The ONLY way we can allow others to alter it is if it's TOO weak to withstand to start with.
