Is 'Solidarity' the Same as Witnessing?
Issue Date: May/June 2016

By: Gina Wilson

Amidst the growing number of Muslims in the United States, should we stand in solidarity with their faith? Or show them that we believe in something entirely different?

I have seen a number of stories in the news where a Christian woman wears a hijab (the Islamic women's head covering) to stand in "solidarity" with Muslims. One woman wore the hijab to show, in her words, that we all "worship the same God." Another woman did so in order to show that she loves Muslims and refugees. While I appreciate the "love and care" sentiment as much as the next person, there are some glaring reasons why this act of solidarity is not helpful in reaching Muslims for Christ.

The hijab is extremely representative of Islam. Before donning it, one must thoroughly examine everything this "solidarity" represents. Failing to do so will only display our own ignorance of the issue, as opposed to being a well thought-out and meaningful action which might help Muslims living near us realize we truly do love them.

The hijab is more than a head covering. In Islam, wearing the head covering is a symbol of submission to Allah. More than a symbol of subservience to one's husband (for in many cases it is not), the hijab broadcasts to the entire watching world that you, whoever you may be, are submitting to ALLAH!

For soul winners, a statement of "solidarity" with your Muslim neighbors and friends simply confuses the issue. What is helpful is developing solid friendships with them and having discussions about Jesus. When they understand that we believe Jesus is God Almighty it becomes clear to your Muslim friends that Allah and God are nowhere near the same, nor would you ever wish to submit to Allah. It helps them understand what you believe and, ultimately, will show them that you love them enough to make sure they know the truth and the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In my book, When the Mosque Comes to Town, I devote two chapters on how to share Jesus with your Muslim friends. These chapters will help you understand how to effectively witness and share who Jesus is, starting with the Old Testament prophecies and working your way through New Testament fulfillment. Muslims often question whether Jesus can really be God and few Christians succeed in effectively showing them why He, indeed, is. This is possibly one of the most crucial questions that you need to have an answer for when witnessing to Muslims.

Of course, to confidently present the biblical truth about Jesus, it is necessary to convince them of the reliability of the Bible. They will likely have been told that the Bible has many changes and is corrupt. Though they do not know where the changes have occurred or how it became "corrupted," this is a commonly held belief.

The simple and confident answer to this, however, is to tell them that you have the preserved Bible, the KJV, which is completely without error and can be traced all the way back to the earliest manuscripts we know of, including the Dead Sea Scrolls. When Muslims come to realize that God has, indeed, preserved His words, confidence in the Bible is restored and they are far more apt to listen to what you have to say.

I strongly encourage you to pick up a copy of When the Mosque Comes to Town and learn how to share and defend your faith today! Chick Publications also has several other books on Islam and tracts designed specifically to help you witness to Muslims.

And here I thought this was a thread about witnessing to Muslims. What a disappointment to find out it's just another thinly veiled plot to push the cult of KJV Onlyism. Disappointing indeed.

Satanists Pressure Schools for Equal Opportunity
Issue Date: May/June 2016

In response to allowing Gideons to distribute free bibles, a Delta County, Colorado, school district is being forced to agree to allow satanic coloring books to also be distributed. For over 100 years, the Gideons have given millions of free Bibles and New Testaments to public school children. School officials have generally cooperated with this effort. But, in today's brave new world, opposition is rising from Satan's troops. The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), the Satanic Temple, and Western Colorado Atheists and Freethinkers pressured for equal access.

A precedent was set in Orange County, Florida last year where the school district spent $90,000 unsuccessfully resisting the pressure in court. School officials have a couple of choices; either allow all brands of literature in or rule all types out. Selecting one against another sets them up for charges of discrimination.

Parents, of course, often have few choices when trying to protecting their children's innocence. Some are moving to home schooling if parental time is available. Others look to private schools where funds permit. Many do not have these options. In any case, it comes down to parental involvement, guiding the child's understanding between the godly and ungodly.

In the flood released by the "information age," parents are hard pressed to sort the good from the not-so-good, as well as the evil. Before the internet, monitoring the child's books was relatively simple. Public schools were generally on the side of parents in guiding children to the wholesome. Now, evil is only a mouse click away, and the government schools have joined the enemy in many cases.

But this is an example of what happens to a culture when the salt and light of the gospel fades. Some are marching for government leaders to solve it by ever more restrictive policies. But government here cannot be the savior. America's founding fathers set up a level playing field for all religions —or lack thereof. Even when government backs the "right religion," lust for power soon sets in and persecution follows, usually focused on Bible believers.

Many parents write to Chick Publications, grateful for the unwavering stand for Truth in the tracts and books. They also appreciate our stand for the proven inspiration of the Classic English KJV Bible as the foundation for that Truth. One mother writes: “We are a family of ten (My husband and I with eight children who have grown up on Chick tracts). My husband found Chick tracts at phone booths and laundry mats growing up and they were seeds toward his salvation. The children absolutely LOVE passing them out to people, and just reading them themselves!”

Another parent wrote: “When my little children grew up and received Christ themselves, they used to love me to read a Chick tract to them in place of a bedtime story. Of course I had to make all the different voices but they loved it. Soon the older ones were reading them on their own.... They grew up on them as I did. They also learned about the falsehood of evolution and other important themes that Christians should take a stand on.”

We are eternally grateful for the many such testimonies that have come to us over the years. To help parents select the right tract or book for the moment, all tracts can be read on our web site. Books and Comics are reviewed so you can see what will be helpful with your youngsters.

Yup ,sadly Obadiah was right. So I'm Puerto Rico where English isn't used much in the schools what bible ShoulD they use.most signs on the roads are in Spanish and the distances are in kilometers

Spot on. The harvest is plenty, yet we mutter about this... :neutral

I've been in South America they use what their told to use..

Lets not drift into off topic land guys..
Puerto Rico is where? Do we ignore the Spanish immigrants who have churches in our nation who use Spanish primarily?

Visit Miami much? You won't find any job without being a bilingual.

When your in a war you'll be wanting to use the best weapon available, that's all their saying. It is about saving Muslims Obadiah, use the weapon of your choice..
And insinuating that the "best weapon available", in this case only the KJV translation of the Bible in particular is a major part of the KJV Only cult. The writeup you posted is an obvious advertisement for the KJV Only cult only very thinly veiled as having any concern for actually converting any Muslims. If you quote scripture to any Muslim with any knowledge of the history of Christian scripture translations it is ludicrous to think using the KJV would make any difference to them at all! To witness to a Muslim we need to focus on demonstrating the power and love of the true God, not on promoting things like the KJV Only cult and venerating copies of this particular book. That will only show them that we are nuttier than they are!

And this quote from your other post indicates just how delusional the KJV Only people really are:
They also appreciate our stand for the proven inspiration of the Classic English KJV Bible as the foundation for that Truth.
Even the actual translators of the KJV stated very clearly that they were not inspired by God! All they did is translate documents with the best (albeit relatively limited) techniques they had at the time. While the original manuscripts of scripture were indeed inspired, anyone claiming divine inspiration of any translation such as the KJV (or any other English translation) is either very ignorant or is simply lying. When the Muslim see this lie (and they will see it!) it will only drive them even further from Christianity and make it even more difficult for the next person who tries to witness to them.

The topic according to your OP is that we must use the KJV to witness to Muslims because it is the only truly inspired word of God. None of this is off topic just because it's not going the direction you planned for it to go. If you don't want to discuss KJV Onlyism you shouldn't bring it up.

I have been told by several of the cult of KJV Only that it is the responsibility of those who do not speak English to go out and learn English so they can learn the truth about God which is ONLY given in the KJV translation of the Bible. This is truly false, and is part of what makes these people a cult.

In the 70's the Christians in Mexico i knew trusted their KJV 100% what's happened since then should be obvious..

Do any of you have a bible that you trust 100% ?
Anyone that claims they do is mistaken. No translation is 100% correct. That's basic knowledge from any higher level Biblical Foundations class! I trust the original manuscripts to be 100% correct and true, but sadly we don't have those anymore. This is why we need to study and educate ourselves so that we can understand the true message of God's word despite the limitations of our own translating abilities.

You obviously only knew a certain group of English speaking people in Mexico and didn't know many, if any at all, of the actual spanish speaking Mexicans (that I know) who would not understand a single word of the KJV translation.

So say the "experts" guess we're stuck stupid then better start carrying 3 or 4 versions around.. Bah! One is enough...

Have you been in Mexico "beyond the border" by way of a bus? The KJV has been translated into Spanish Obadiah..
