I agree a hundred percent and all of my thoughts go out to this beautiful country called America that I'm proud to call my home, as well as all the victims that were injured, and the friends and family of the victims that were killed. :pray All of this garbage needs to end as soon as possible. Way too many innocent lives have been taken already. :sad

And yet another prompting of the ongoing gun debate. Why is this even a thing? Look at the root cause of the matter! One person got pissed off at someone else over some perceived offense and they felt justified in retaliating using deadly force. Go to the cause and solve that. Stop taking guns away from people who are not using them to murder people.

i don't know what to make about gun control. My issue is that...socially, something's very wrong here. The overall crime rate, the violent crime rate...lower now than in decades past. And yet...
my
people are going on shooting sprees, on a nfairly regular basis. I don't get it.

A month or more ago I saw two signs in the same day that explain it perfectly. One was a home made yard sign, the other was a commercially produced bumper sticker. I should mention the context, that here in WI we have a bar on every corner and Churches are rare, whereas the Bible belt extends into IN just a couple hundred miles away with a Church on every corner and bars being limited to certain parts of town.

Sad to say I can't recall either sign verbatim, but the yard sign was something to the effect that 50 years ago we removed prayer and the Bible from schools, and we wonder why schools are violent now?

It really is that simple, IMHO. What else can we expect?

Violence and murder is increasing all over the world, in every country. The bible prophecies this will happen. It's one of the signs we are to look for. Prayers are greatly needed.

Hmmm, reliable statistics show that the murder rate in the US has fallen significantly over the last 40 years, as gun ownership has increased dramatically.

Pray for those lost to gun violence. Pray for those who save lives using firearms.

Anti-gun activists don't care about reality or the average American. You'll notice the most public anti-gun mouth pieces out there are public figures?
They're not talking about gun control, or taking away guns, for all people. They're talking about taking away the guns and controlling access to firearms for us people. Not their kind of people$$$$$$.
They don't trust the 99% with weapons. We scare them because they're rich and afraid of people who have guns and that aren't on their personal bodyguard payroll.
Remember Rosie O'Donnell ? When she still had a talk show she was very openly anti-gun! Seemingly for everyone. Until, news hit that her family bodyguard had applied for a CC permit in California. Then Rosie sort of hushed up about the evils of guns. After that she sort of disappeared from her own talk show.

NYTimes 2017 Crime in New York City Plunges to a Level Not Seen Since the 1950s

Anti-gun people don't seem to get it. Really. The older population aren't typically anti-gun. Because they were around back in the day and realized that prohibition does not stop bad behavior! Rather, it naturally generates a black market for what is prohibited.
Gun control laws only control those who obey laws. Gangbangers and other skell will always be able to arm up and hunt their prey in America. If the law abiding have no guns the gun toting criminals will have a field day on the 99%. While that 1% will be locked behind mansion doors, in gated communities or high rises with their own secure elevator. And protected by armed bodyguards. They then think we'll be the ones thrown to the wolves so we can sort it all out as a survival of the fittest Darwinian experiment 21st century.

What they don't seem to consider is, America was founded by a people who left Great Britain due to bad politics. America will never today become like disarmed Great Britain and again due to bad politics. We will never surrender our guns. And if they try to come and take them, bring body bags! Because it is better to die on your feet, than be overrun by scum while you're disarmed and on your knees.
Especially with the open border mentality the rich and bodyguarded Legislature is implementing seemingly on a daily basis if at least for the trying.

And I agree with Trump 100%. Heroine dealers should be shot as soon as they're found with weight. And MS13? Same thing. They're devil worshipers. Send them home.

i read that there's a lot of factors at play in the drop in US crime rate. aging of the population, for one thing. and yet...

these mass shootings pop up with alarming regularity, which makes me think its a -social- issue. what gives? I hated HS, too. In fact, I hated it so much, I graduate 1 year early. I didn't shoot my tormentors, though.

I was bullied from K grade to graduation from 12th . Raised around guns all my life. They were exposed in the house in case of emergency they were loaded and ready. Never did it occur to me even once to take one and get even with my tormentor's.
I think it is a social issue in as much as kids in this last generation have been desensitized to violence. Movies regardless of the rating in theaters, are available to them on PPV. Or, at the library. And let's not imagine first person shooter video games don't program kids today to think violence is good. They're rewarded for killing people in those games. And some it was discovered years ago have secret bonus icons that appear when a player arrives at a certain level.

In 1980 for instance. Do we remember hearing about a kids sporting event getting shut down because of the parents fighting one another? No. But it happens today. This says even older minds are not immune to the programming that's happening. For small screen it all started with The Jerry Springer Show. Seriously. That was the first social experiment television broadcast with open violence first thing in the morning in most markets.
Then the producers gradually added security that would sort of step in to calm the fighting. And who were those fighters? Adults!

One article from that search list.
First-person Shooter Games, the US Military, and Serial Killers

By Pat Elder, May 23, 2018.

Excerpt:[Sic]"....Thanks to the great defender of freedom, Edward Snowden, we know about a 2013 NSA Document, “Exploiting Terrorist Use of Games & Virtual Environments.” The NSA and the CIA have teamed up with the UK’s Government Communications Headquarters GCHQ to deploy real-life agents into the virtual World of Warcraft and has infiltrated Xbox Live with tens of millions of players worldwide. The world’s two top spy agencies can identify a labyrinth of social networks of those with the inclination for virtual killing. The targets of the espionage may be in Syria or Venezuela; Florida or Texas.

In World of Warcraft, players everywhere on earth share the same virtual world, walking, running, travelling around, and killing a variety of computer-generated monsters, along with custom-designed human avatars made by shooters 10,000 miles away. Build your own here!

Pro Publica, a recipient of Snowden’s release, describes, “killing computer-controlled monsters or the avatars of other players, including elves, animals or creatures known as orcs. Players create customized human avatars that can resemble themselves or take on other personas — supermodels and bodybuilders are popular — who can socialize, buy and sell virtual goods, and go places like beaches, cities, art galleries and strip clubs.”

Real and virtual are blurred.

SAIC, the defense contractor behemoth, has studied MMORPG’s and concludes they can be used for a variety of purposes by America’s enemies, from recruiting members, training fighters, and spreading propaganda – like the US does with The America’s Armyvideo game.

It is ironic to consider the NSA may well have data on both Cruz and Pagourtzis who likely played MMORPG’s."[end excerpt of article, First-person Shooter Games, the US Military, and Serial Killers

I'm sorry but I strongly disagree with you. I wouldn't blame movies or games for the violent behavior of children, I would blame the parents for not teaching them right from wrong, and the difference between fantasy and reality.

Violent games emotionally desensitizing

Researchers from the University of Bonn studied brain activity in heavy users
After excessively violent events, shoot ‘em up games regularly come under scrutiny. In Norway, several first-person shooter games actually disappeared from the market for a while after the killings. Does intense fighting on a flat screen display also result in aggressive behavior in real life? Researchers from the University of Bonn found brain activity patterns in heavy gamers that differed from those of non-gamers. The study’s results have just been published in the scientific journal “Biological Psychology.”

If I may, well if we are going to go against violent movies, gore .bible reading.ever

And David brought the foreskins of the enemies unto Saul ,David cut off Goliaths head and paraded it in the land and kept it.

Now then we pass that as ok ,that's fine but in those it was visual when mentioned .if a believer veteran were to have teeth of oh say japs, and Germans and posted photos of his kill you might protest.

Local vet here has jap teeth.I have seen haji propped up photographed abd the guy showimg me it was telling me why he killed him.

Except that there are studies that agree with what I said.
I guess it was inevitable as fallen as society is now days but really, who would have ever actually seen this coming?

Sickening video game simulates high school SHOOTING and lets players slaughter innocent civilians
It hits the market in America June 6.

UNBELIEVABLE! And, it's protected under our first amendment.

This is not surprising at all. Deathrace 2000 was in the arcades right next to Space Invaders in the early 80's.

It would be really interesting to do an overlay that compares people so affected with Antifa supporters.

There's a huge difference between being a heavy gamer, and reading the gory stories of the OT. For one, there is nothing about the gory stories that tells us "go and do likewise;" neither is there a reward system in place for doing so.
