Hello.

I've come to this forum to see where things go. Currently I'm in a nihilist mindset, and don't want to settle for nihilism. So I've come here in hopes of spiritual seeking. I figured I'd say hello, before I go on lurking this board.
Hello and welcome to our little nook.
For those that dont know, maybe you could tell them what a nihilist is.

I hope you find meaningful discussion here. Were not to much into debating, and we have a good membership that's for the most part respectful but certainly diverse.

Blessings!

...maybe you could tell them what a nihilist is...

For a real short answer by nihilism I mean that I don't see purpose or meaning in anything, so nothing matters. And I don't want that. If I exist, I want meaning. And I don't even want to settle for "you gotta give your life purpose" because at the end of the day it's just a subjective illusion.

...Were not much into debating...
Also in not interested in debate either, and my growing nihilism often makes me not care about debating because I don't see any worldview making progress. Especially in christendom which has more division and debate than any other worldview, but it exists in the same manner as the others either way. All things go on the same. There's too much to explore cerebrally to care. So thusly all debate is nothing more than rhetoric to me, and I have no interest in that. It's not that I'm not open to hearing, but rather that there's too much hearing to sort through to care. I'm just hoping if I put myself in a spiritual environment and there's a God that there will be an organic spiritual pull of some sort, because I want there to be something greater than this empty existence.

Thank you for your honesty.
I'm sorry you feel so empty. It's hard to have purpose when things feel so meaningless. Have you experienced traumatic loss in your life?

I can relate for a long time I kept trying to find "meaning" and "a purpose" for my life at first I just wanted to reunite with one side of my family that I didn't much get to be around but, even that "wasn't enough" afterward I buried my head in video games and eventually sinned n multiple ways,it is certainly tough "without purpose" or with no "pointing you in a general direction to go" because it can lead to "misery".

Here is a belated welcome to CFnet. I hope you are still around to respond to this thread, because I'd love to see a response to StoveBolts' question to you.

Sadly, this is true, but I believe this is an indication of how passionate Christians feel about their faith. It's also a product of Christianity being less about rigid rules that must be followed than other belief systems which dictate every point that must be accepted. That said, I would say the various factions of Islam warring against each other put our disagreements in perspective.

Thanks

I thought I answered that question, but yes I did experience loss in the past year, plus other personal things. That's as much as I'll say.
I'm sorry you've experienced tragidy. I personally know what it feels like to experience great loss, and the light in the tunnel is just another train coming to run over what's left of your broken shell.
Solomon wrote that there is a season for everything. A time for laughing, and a time for suffering. Life has its seasons and it can kick the snot out of you at times. But in all, it's still good.
When we are wrought in pain and suffering from loss, we overlook the beauty that surrounds us and darkness can consume us. It's at these times we have to search for the good, and claim it. Find the beauty around you, and appreciate it, let it put a warmth into your heart.
Jesus said where your treasure is, your heart will also be. Your heart is drawn to your treasures. Find treasure in the tenderness of others. Open a door for somebody, help when and where you can and enjoy their smile as they tell you thank you.
Jesus also said that He would never leave or forsake us. That means your not alone. He said if you build your home upon the rock, when the rain comes, you'll still be standing. He didnt promise your days would be filled with blue skies. They wont. Treasure this, and know God is doing something great in your life. Your in a season of suffering, but a season of rejoicing is near, but you need to seize it, and treasure these things. But most of all, make God your treasure, and you will find rest for your weary soul.
