1 Peter 3:8 NKJV

"Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted; be courteous."

I was wondering if anyone can give me

1. Ways in which we, as brothers and sisters, can show we love each other, in how we post.

2. Any other verses that talk about brotherly love.

awesome thread topic

John 13:34 - A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 - NKJV - Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 3:4-8 - EXP - Love is patient and kind. Love is not ·jealous [envious], it does not brag, and it is not ·proud [arrogant; conceited; puffed up]. 5 Love is not ·rude [disrespectful], is not ·selfish [self-serving], and ·does not get upset with others [is not easily provoked/angered]. Love does not ·count up [keep a record of] wrongs that have been done. 6 Love ·takes no pleasure [does not rejoice] in ·evil [wrongdoing; injustice] but rejoices over the truth. 7 Love ·patiently accepts all things [ bears all things; or always protects], ·always trusts [ believes all things], ·always hopes [ hopes all things], and ·always endures [endures all things]. Love never ·ends [fails; falls short].

Agreed, great thread! (I fixed the title for you)

A big thing I notice is we can ask questions when we don't understand something; all too often I see people "go for the jugular" at the first hint of something that maybe might be a disagreement. James wrote to be slow to speak and quick to hear ... that fixes a lot of things!

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself.

We need to lead by example IMHO. I think our community has come a long way in the last few months, but we still have some work to do. Backspace can often be our friend. :)

If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

I didn't mean to come across as judgmental in my response, btw. Its just...have you noticed how any time a Christian gets sufficient press coverage, there's always other Christians there to tear them down? I -get- that there are doctrinal differences, etc., but...wow. It can be intense, especially on The Internet.

I do think this forum has moved in a kinder, gentler, more compassionate direction lately, and I'm thankful. Getting rid of the political forum was a -good- move, I think. :)

wow. good posts. good topic, Tessa.

It isn't -just- this forum, of course. Not to pick on other Christians, but I"ve seen Christians rip other Christians to shreds, no problem. I don't get it, honestly.
your not the only one the moment you question disagree with a doctrine .your a heathen heretic Blasphemer . there are many things i do not agree with calvinism is one but there can be a adult level conversion about it so i would think

love is action as has been stated .. it also takes 2 for the that true love to work.. i can love someone but if they do not want that love . then all i am doing is showing them my love.peter also writes Love covers a multitude of sins our love does not forgive sin .but it over looks the sin. the old saying love the sinner hate the sin jude said it this way
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

to show love takes effort on the net we deal with all kinds of personalities and some can be one way on the computer and another way in person . the worst attitude response is i am right your are wrong.. many times not always i will say i respectfully disagree with you. i respect your study time but i disagree . in my post i have to watch my self i use to be in a forum that was a battle royal last man standing.. i had one lady that simply called me nuts using the words Born again .she lived in the European area . she claimed to be a a christian .but insulted me every chance when i used scripture .so in turn i fired back .usually told her take her meds and go back to bed lol

Thanks for fixing the title Ray
I noticed the same kind of response as you have. It's a great shame because it spoils a fabulous forum, and must be very disheartening.

We have to show that love to each other.

Lead by example and backspace - love that. Must remember bscl space. There will always be slip ups but also forgiveness and understanding.

Thanks for the verses too

Says it all! Corinthians is one of my favourite books.

Getting rid of the political forum I think was a fabulous move. I count this forum as my church, all my brothers and sisters.

Everyone who has posted on this thread has shown love. You have made it a thread of love.

I agree that love is action and is also words. We are told we will account for every word. (Every action too).

You must have been totally fed up of that lady Ezra to end up telling her to take her meds and go to bed :lol

I am a bit impetuous (although improving with age) so have to wait sometimes to stop myself from answering.

Love you all
