Well it was a really nice day today so I spent most of it outside as usual and I went to go visit my friend Megan over at her house. Anyway, I was visiting with a lot more of the neighbors today and this one woman that I have known for about the past year now was telling me a story about when her and her husband were taking a walk this little two or three year old little girl ran down to the street to see them along with their dog.

Now the reason that she told me this story is because of the fact that when I was over my friend's house today, the neighbor's dog got loose and got hit by a car. Of course I ran down to make sure everything was alright and thankfully she made it home safely, but although I love animals it's one thing for a dog to get injured, and it's completely another story when it's a child. Children that young can die from getting hit by a car and the traffic is very busy right down where I live.

Not to mention the fact that after she ran down the street she took the man by the hand. Now thank the Lord above he's a very nice man, but ever since I knew how to talk, both of my parents have taught me the importance of being careful and staying away from strangers.

He could have just abducted her right there and then if he wasn't the sweet man who loves the Lord that I know him to be, and the worst part is the fact that the parents were literally nowhere in sight! It's obvious to me that they didn't have a clue where there child was and it didn't even faze them a bit!!! :mad Also, I'm not sure whether or not anybody has seen the video on YouTube about a child around the same age wandering the streets by herself, but it took the cops at least twenty minutes to show up. I would post it but it at least has one cuss word in it and I'm not sure whether or not it's allowed.

Yikes! That is a scary situation. Toddlers are known to wander, they are so fascinated with the world about them. A toddler escaping the home can happen to any parent. I remember I was at home, we had a maintenance person over and they got annoyed with our child proof door knob covers. They took the child proof cover off and left the door wide open. My 1 year old bolted out. Thankfully I was there and stopped her on the patio, but this kind of stuff happens and becomes worst case scenario.

My mother was telling me a story yesterday about when she was younger her and her mother (or my grandmother) found a baby in their yard that I guess had crawled down from a few yards down. Really scary, but then again, it was also a lot different world back then than it is today.

That is startling! Sometimes in these cases if parents don't go looking for their kids for a long length of time I worry. As a child, I was a master escape artist. I went next door to pet their dog and the neighbor brought me back saying to my mother, "Is this yours?" Or so I have been told.

I got away at a carnival, but was thankfully found safe. I walked down the street to grandma's when I was about 3 or 4...this I remember. I crossed the street and walked to grandma's yard. She looked out and saw me. She quickly got on the phone with my parents and she asked if I was allowed down there because she didn't see my parents. I was probably one of those kids that needed a leash. Thankfully I was never injured, kidnapped, or abused in any way. I thank my lucky stars and glad these days they have more child proofing mechanisms for doors and such!

Parenting in todays world terrifies me. The creep problem seems a bigger threat because it is not just in person, but also on the internet, too. It feels like we can't trust any other person to watch the kids...especially hard because husband was an abuse victim himself so there are trust issues with leaving our kids with anyone.

Well, during today's Bible reading I read something even worse than that. I was reading all about how parents would murder their children by slitting their throats and offering them up as a sacrifice and that really made me feel sick to my stomach. About the internet though, I wasn't going to confess this but yeah, let's just say that I'm lucky that I'm still alive and never got arrested for the kinds of things that I used to use it for. Back in my youth I was an internet troll, and I also didn't have the kind of wisdom that I have now about not putting too much information out there. Parents need to keep a better eye on their child's online status and discuss internet safety over and over. Even though mine did, it didn't sink through immediately, so my humble opinion is that they need to until it does.

Children are like arrows,
Blessed is he whose quiver is full.

For some people children are not a blessing. I wish I had more than the one sometimes. At other times I'm glad that part of my life is over. Just depends upon the day.

If by some miracle my wife got pregnant...it would be a happy day. But it's probably not going to happen. So I harass my son about dating and getting married so I can have some grandkids.
In the meantime I got some neices I get to spoil.

I understand that some people don't like children,.. but what I don't understand is why they abuse them, neglect them, and mistreat them after they have them? If they don't want to have kids then they have two choices,.. protect themselves, or don't have sex in the first place.

Or give them one who will adopt

That is awfully sad. I cannot imagine even harming a child let alone sacrificing =(.

While wae may have done different things, I used to be a troll as well. I uses to feel so bad about myself so I would troll online. I still feel bad about some of the things I did as well because it was mean, maybe not extreme, but definitely not nice. I turned around after a time, but I am sure I caused a lot of hurt feelings. Unfortunately, it is so easy to bully someone online almost anonymously.

I also thank God for protecting me against others online because I used to chat with so many people I did not know on chats and stuff. I do wish my parents would have stepped up their game to pay attention what I was doing, but they were afraid to take the computer from me because I threatened all sorts of things.

Wow, it sounds like we are two peas in a pod. I didn't threaten people though for the most part other than online. Thank the Lord we both asked for forgiveness and turned over a new leaf. Now all of our sins have been washed away by His blood and we all have been made new again. :cross

That is the kind of world we live in at the moment, a world where children are even put in dumpsters. Its crazy how heartless people are nowadays.
