I grew up with the KJV, and when I got old enough I started paying attention to it, I totally refused it because it seemed too archaic. I began to go to a different church, and they used the NASB and ESV. Eventually I collected NIV, NLT, The Message and the NKJV also. I've had a lot of trouble getting over a certain mental block. Something didn't make sense about the gospel of Christ. Maybe nobody else has gone through this, but I had an ahah moment recently. And it has to do with correctly translating "faith of Christ" from the KJV (because not all versions translate it right, they say "faith in Christ"). It's a total eye opener for me. Not for the fact that only the KJV translates it this way.. because I don't mind other translations in general.. but because I realize now that Jesus had faith in God that each one of us could be saved. This faith he had is so important and precious to me. I hadn't thought of it that way before, for so many years. I was trying to have faith in Christ, without realizing his faith. Pretty soon I got discouraged because Jesus seemed to be doing the Father's will, against his own desires. At least that's how it seemed to me. Now, I know (because it is written in Scripture) he had faith, and I have faith in him because he first had faith in God. And I wouldn't have seen it this way had I not picked up the KJV bible again.

Our faith is not our own, but that of Christ faith as He never said or did anything above that which God gave Him to do and speak. This is why we build on that same faith of Christ knowing all He has ever said and done has all been done through God.

John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Is there a particular place where it say this?

It does help if you would supply biblical references.
I've been looking at Gal 2v16
knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ AV
know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. NIV

To me, I have faith in Jesus's atonement. Ican trust that the Son of God has redemned me and I don't have to rely on his faith.

The KJV is especially beautiful but I always keep in mind it was put together by a group of scholars back in the time of King James of England and it was translated from the Latin version of that time. (1604 began-1611 completed) That is why it is called the King James version because he authorized this version. I think some of the more recent versions are much better in their use of words which are translated from the original Hebrew or Greek. I have used various versions over the years but right now I prefer the NIV (because it is so easy to understand) or the NRSV, and even the NKJV.

As far as that phrase.."faith of Christ." I like "faith in Christ", although the faith of Jesus is an example to follow for sure. Yet Jesus, here, spoke to the woman who he healed about her personal faith..in Luke 7:50 when he said.."Your faith has saved you. Go in peace." which is from the New King James Version.

KJV
Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

We have faith in Christ because of the faith of Christ as being the very word of God as He never spoke or did anything that God did not give Him to speak and do while here on earth.

Did Jesus need faith for what he knew he was?

Jesus had great faith in God as He grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man, Luke 2:52.

Jesus had unwavering faith during the time He spent on earth, Hebrews 12:1-3.

When others did not believe or trust the promises of God, Jesus did and also had faith to believe God would vindicate Him, Hebrews 10:37, 38; Isaiah 50:6-9.

Jesus had hope in His own resurrection as He knew He would die, but also trusted that God would raise Him from the grave, Psalms 16; Mark 10:33, 34.

Jesus had faith, hope and love as He walked this earth as being human as we are, but without the sin nature. We also need to be walking in that faith, hope, love and obedience as we also trust God in all His promises and commands.

Yet those verses don't talk about Jesus having faith.
