I'm asking this question because I was having severe sinus problems last night and all throughout this morning and I felt like I also felt like I lost my concentration and started thinking negatively so I wondered if this went hand in hand with being sick. Also here's a bonus question, when you have nothing inside your stomach, why does your body feel the need to throw up phlegm? And a second bonus question what exactly makes us vomit (besides germs) in the first place?

I've often thought it is our body's way to getting rid of something that doesn't belong. Never looked for a scientific explanation though.

Yeah, me too. However, this Christian just also happens to be very interested in science. :)

What happens to our bodies does affect us, we are the body so if we are ill we feel ill etc.
The mind is not dislocated from the body.
Re vomiting see https://www.healthyhorns.utexas.edu/HT/HT_nausea.html
The link explains how we vomit but it doesn't explain why the body does this. Here are a couple links that may provide some explanation.
