I just thought of something. When the Lord comes back, we get changed in the twinkling of an eye into our new spiritual glorified bodies, right? But then...Jesus will reign on earth for 1000 years. It will be like when man had never fell. Of course He is going to make everything new again, and I don't think we will be able to die during this 1000 years. We'll already be with the Lord here. Yeah, at the end of the 1000 years Satan gets loosed for a short while, but how much would he be able to do when we have just had over 900 years of spiritual training?! Nada lada, lol.

Before when I thought about the millennium, I guess I automatically think in the flesh. But we wont be!

If people have children during the 1000 years, they would still need to decide for themselves to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

That's a good point, Brother. I'm sure people will continue to have children, it's what we do, lol. But on the plus side of it, these children will not be brought up with a bunch of lies and indoctrination.

Neither were Adam and Eve. Yet they chose wrong when the serpent tempted them. How many children born during the 1000 years will choose correctly after the 1000 years?

Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. Revelation Revelation 20:7-9a NKJV

...whose number is as the sand of the sea. Who are all these people in Revelation 20:8b NKJV?

I'm guessing Abraham's descendants.

Revelation 20:1-8 is the only passage in the entire scriptures that the premillinialists have as the basis for the "1000 year reign." Rev 20:4 doesn't speak about a 1000 year reign of Christ it says "and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years." It's not Christ that reigns 1000 years, but those who were killed for God's sake that reign with Christ 1000 years as 1000 being a figurative number, not a literal number as in Deuteronomy 7:9; 1Chronicles 16:15; Psalms 50:10; 90:4; 105:8 Ecc 6:6; 7:28; Daniel 5:1; 2Peter 3:8.

Those who reign with Christ are those souls that had been beheaded for their testimony of Jesus. In Revelations 6:9-11, are the souls of martyrs who had been slain for the word of God under an altar crying for vengeance. In Rev 20:4 the martyrs are on thrones. The difference between these scriptures is God's judgment has already come to those certain martyrs. The victory came in the spiritual realm of God, not the physical, and God assured their victory.

John was shown in a vision those souls that already had the victory over death as being in Christ. When we who are of Christ die before His return God has already passed judgement on us and we have the victory in Christ over that of the second death, 1 Corinthians 15:51-57. Those who are not of Christ will be judged and cast into the lake of fire. There is only one resurrection, but two judgements, John 5:28, 29. Those in Christ are raised first as those still alive at His coming will be gathered and caught up together to meet Christ in the air to be with Christ for eternity, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. The rest are then raised for their judgement as rejecting Christ and there forever have their place in the lake of fire. Rev 20:4 says nothing about Jesus coming to this earth and establishing a worldly kingdom at Jerusalem.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
(notice as is in being figurative and not literal.)

So you are saying that there is no millennial reign of Christ on earth? I thought that was a common knowledge and belief. So what about after the 1000 years that satan is loosed for a little while? How would that work into no millennial reign?

Ok, I'll give you one thing upfront...I said it is common knowledge and I have heard many people preach on it...but granted, the majority IS usually wrong. So there's that. I am going to have to chew on this for a bit and go through your scriptures because this is boggling my mind just a bit. Lol. I thought it was pretty plain myself and it kind of makes sense that the Lord would do this, to show us how we should have been living here on earth if we had not fell...nevertheless, I respect your words on this forum here so I will sure give this some study and a closer look....and some prayer!

:confused

There are a lot of majority rules teachings out there, but yet not found in scripture, but to those false teachers also comes their own damnation, 2 Peter 2:1-3.

In Rev 19:11-21 we read where Jesus returns with His army from heaven. Let me stop there for a second. John 3:13 Jesus said no one has ever ascended up to heaven when they died. Genesis 2:7 and Ecc 12:7 says it's only the breath/spirit that returns to God who gave it that made us a living soul. OK, so this needs to be established that the army is the host, or angels from heaven that return with Christ.

This is where I believe everything will happen like in a twinkling of an eye. Jesus returns in the air with His army of angels and destroys the beast and false prophet casting them into the lake of fire. He then sends the angels out to the four corners of the earth to gather His own to him. Those alive at His coming and those who are asleep in their graves, Matthew 24:29-31, 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Then He sends His angels to bind Satan for a time that he can no longer deceive the nations. Scripture says a 1000 years, but I believe this to be symbolic in its numbering like those scriptures I already gave in post #7.

Beast and false prophet are cast into the lake of fire, Satan is bound, we are gathered in the air with Jesus as this is the time of the first resurrection on the last day when Christ returns, John 5:28, 29; 6:40; Rev 20:4-6.

Now, this is what I question. If it is a literal 1000 years that Satan is bound and can no longer deceive the nations (people) and we are already caught up to Christ what will we be doing on this present earth for 1000 years until Satan is loosed?

I believe no one will be in the flesh when Christ returns
2Peter 3:10-12
But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in Which The Heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements (evil rudiments) shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the WORKS that are within shall be burned up.
Thus my belief no flesh.
When it speaks as a child playing with an asp, refers to a metaphor meaning peace imho.

For His glory,
There is no one dead yet. As far as spiritual.
When one dies, our flesh, dirt, returns to dirt, spirit RETURNS to God. Ecc.12:7
Just like Lazarus and the rich man, one side of the gulf or other.
In Rev.20:6 during the millennium, we shall become priest of God, and reign with Him.
1000 years?
As in 2Peter 3:8
The Lord's day....
One day is with the Lord as a 1000 years, and 1000 years as one day.
Then in verse 10 of 2Peter 3.
But THE DAY OF THE LORD will come as as thief...

What we will be doing?
Teaching and judging during the millennium.
Ezek.44:23-25
Regarding the millennium Temple..
And they shall teach My children the difference between the Holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the clean and unclean.
And in controversy they shall stand in judgment....

So my belief..
When Christ returns, the good bad and ugly ,shall turn into spiritual bodies.
Those whom overcame the tribulation, plus those whom are in Paradise with the Lord, will reign with Christ here on earth. They will be the only ones allowed in the Temple.
Those of them that were deceived or never heard the truth will be outside of the Temple.
They still have a mortal soul.
Thus, Satan is loosed to test these souls after the millennium.
Then the Great White Judgment, when all are judged, some into the lake of fire.

2 Peter 3:19-12 day of the Lord is a part of the whole cross reference of the return of Christ being the last day after the seven trumpets of Gods great wrath is finished. This is the time Christ comes to destroy the beast and the false prophet casting them into the lake of fire. Then comes the catching up of the saints. Those who are still alive at His coming and those who sleep in the grave as He sends His angels out to the four corners of the earth to gather His own to Him in the air. Before we are caught up to meet Him in the air this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. It is only those who have rejected Christ, both alive and in their graves at His coming that are raised to damnation. There is only one resurrection that takes place on the day Christ returns, but two different judgements.

Matthew 24:29-31; John 5:28, 29; 6:40; 1 Corinthians 15:51-55; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Rev 19:11-21.

The Lord's day being the day of the Lord is a day of Gods great wrath being poured out on those who refuse to repent. It is always pointed out as the day at hand meaning in Gods timing in Rev 1:10. The phrase the day of the Lord” is used nineteen times in the Old Testament (Isaiah 2:12; 13:6, 9; Ezekiel 13:5, 30:3; Joel 1:15, 2:1,11,31; 3:14; Amos 5:18,20; Obadiah 15; Zephaniah 1:7,14; Zechariah 14:1; Malachi. 4:5) and five times in the New Testament (Acts 2:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:2; 2 Thessalonians 2:2; 2 Peter 3:10; Rev 1:10). It is also alluded to in other passages (Revelation 6:17; 16:14).

The Lord's day only appears once in scripture in Rev 1:10. It gives no reference to what day of the week it was as every day is the Lord's day, but more specific is also referred to the Sabbath day in Mark 16:9; Acts 2:42; 20:7; 1Corinthians 16:1,2 . John was in the Spirit, but yet in his physical body when he received from the angel all these revelations that he wrote down. Throughout scripture the Lord's day is usually referred to as the Sabbath being the seventh day of the week, Genesis 2:1-3 a day of rest.

I believe the Day of the Lord is the millennium in Rev.1:10.
Let's take a look at Rev.1:10, it speaks of a trumpet.
Plus, before that, Rev.1:6,7 hath made us kings and priests unto God...
Every eye shall see Him even those that pierced Him and all kindred of the earth..
Sounds like the Lord's day to me.
The day of the Lord, the Lord's day..

Also regarding souls,
Yes, us mortal souls must put on immortality, but some are still mortal souls.
As Rev.20:5,6
But the rest of the dead ( spiritually) lived not again until the 1000 years are finished.
Meaning
They have mortal souls (liable to die).
Those who took part in the first resurrection took on immortality.
The second death hath no power over these.
Thus, there must be a second death or resurrection when the mortal souls put on immortality.
Why is Satan loosed again after the millennium?
Who is he going to deceive?
Those who have mortal souls.
Resurrection not only means coming out of the grave, literally.
Resurrection of the spiritually dead.
As the vision of dry bones in Ezek.37:4
Prophesy to them, hear the word of the Lord.
They were spiritually dead.
Like dead man walking.
There is a lot of people today, walking, that are spiritually dead.

Beginning with Rev 20:4, this all happens during the seventh trumpet as all the events leads up to the last day. John sees thrones and they sat upon them as judgement is only given by God and Christ. This could be that the thrones he sees and the ones sitting on them is God and now Jesus sitting upon His throne of glory as all the kingdoms of the world will have become the kingdoms of God and of His Christ at the beginning of the seventh trumpet sounding, Rev 11:15.

This could also be talking about the great white throne as John sees the souls of those who were beheaded that refused to denounce Christ and take the mark of the beast, Rev 13, as they who are now dead will also be raised up on the last day, Daniel 12:1-4; John 6:40; John 5:28, 29, which would be the day of the great white throne judgement. I believe the first resurrection is that of our Spiritual rebirth as we were then risened with Christ, Colossians 3:1, and physically dead or alive our spirit always reigns with Christ. Rev 20:14 the second death is death and Hades/hell/grave being cast into the lake of fire as there will never be no more death or a need for the grave.

Those who are alive at Christ coming that are His are kept in the camp which has to be symbolic of the Holy city of Jerusalem as how can every Christian still alive at His coming from every nation fit inside the walls of Jerusalem or even the great valley that runs to Azal, Zechariah 14:4, 5. John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:40 is a cross reference to Rev 20:5 as I believe it is the last day that all, in the grave and those still alive will be caught up with Jesus. This is why there is no pretrib or mid-trib rapture. During the timing of the seventh trumpet after the beast out of the sea and out of the earth are cast into the lake of fire and the remnant being all the leaders of every nation that followed after these two beast.

Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
We will not need our physical bodies anymore.
Flesh and blood cannot enter in.
I don't want this body anyhow, getting old. Lol

In 1 Thess.4:13,14
But I would not have you ignorant, brethren, CONCERNING THEM WHICH ARE ASLEEP, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

FOR IF WE BELIEVE, that Jesus died and rose again,
Even so them also which sleep IN JESUS, will
GOD BRING WITH HIM.

They are already there.
They are not laying in a hole in the ground.
Like Lazarus and the rich man.

They are coming here to reign with Christ, and we shall join them in the Spirit, Air.
Comes with a cloud of witnesses.
Like a flock of locusts, birds..

The Great White Judgment is after the millennium.
Those whom had mortal souls will be judged.

As I also said, when Christ returns, we all are in the Spirit.
2 Peter 3:10

Flesh will be burnt up.

I agree the great white throne judgement is after the 1000 years, but I do not believe it to be a literal 1000 years, but only symbolic in its numbering like that of Deuteronomy 7:9; 1Chronicles 16:15; Psalms 50:10; 90:4; 105:8 Ecc 6:6; 7:28; Daniel 5:1; 2Peter 3:8.

Everyone that has ever lived has a mortal soul. The only difference is that those who are of Christ when He returns will be given new glorified bodies. But yet do not know what we will look like other than we will be like Christ for we will see Him as He is, 1 John 3:1-4. When Christ returns and sends His angels out to the four corners of the earth to gather those who are still alive and those in the grave who are of Christ own will then be changed in a twinkling of an eye as this corruptible body (flesh) will put on incorruption and this mortal body (flesh) will put on immortality as flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God. We then have victory over death, unlike those who are still alive and those who have died that rejected God and His Son Christ Jesus as they are raised in the same resurrection as we are, but they are raised to damnation, Matthew 24:29-31; 1 Corinthians 15:51-55; John 5:28, 29.

Concerning 2 Peter 3:10 the Lord will return as a thief in the night to those who are not prepared for His return. The heaven and earth is a cross reference to Rev 21:1, 2 as this present heaven and earth will pass away as it is burned up and God will restore it back to what it use to be when He first created it as then will God usher down the New Jerusalem and we will be with the Lord forever.

The only flesh of men only being a third that will be burned up in the end of days is found in Rev 9:13-21 during the sixth trumpet. God has in the past sent fire down from heaven to destroy His enemies like that of Aaron's sons Abihu and Nadab were destroyed by fire God sent down to destroy them and when Elijah called upon God and He sent fire down from heaven consuming the king and his fifty, Leviticus 10:1, 2; 2 Kings 1:10.

No one knows how long God's first six trumpets of His wrath will last, but I believe that when the seventh trumpet is sounded that involves all the events beginning in Rev 11:15 will last 3 1/2 years until Christ returns in Rev 19:11-21 destroying the beast and the false prophet. Between the timing of Christ return, Satan being bound, we being caught up to Christ, the great white throne judgement will be outside the concept of our timing as when Christ returns on the last day all things will be done very quickly almost like that of a twinkling of an eye.

Absent from the body and present with the Lord:

2 Corinthians 5:1-8
vs. 1 is speaking about the tabernacle of God that is within us as we are the Temple of God, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 17, and when we physically die we will have eternal life with Him in the New Jerusalem
vs. 2 we desire to be in our new home, the New Jerusalem, that will be ushered down from heaven at the end of days, Rev 21
vs. 3 we are clothed in Gods righteousness as we will not be found naked, Isaiah 61:10
vs. 4 We are the Temple of God, but yet we do have burdens as we still live in this fleshly body waiting for immortality when Christ returns, 1 Corinthians 15:51-54
vs. 5 basic as we have Gods Spirit dwelling in us as we need to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh
vs. 6 we are confident knowing that if we are walking in the flesh we are absent from God because flesh and Spirit can not mix, Galatians 5:17
vs. 7 we walk by faith, which is Christ Jesus as we seek those things from above and not the things of this world, Colossians 3:1-4
vs. 8 we are confident if we are walking in the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) we are no longer following the lust of the flesh, 1 John 2:16

John 3:13 Jesus said that no one has ever ascended up to heaven after they physically died. The only thing that returns back to God when we die is the very breath/spirit God gave us making us a living soul. Our bodies return back to the dust of the ground meaning the grave, Genesis 2:7; Ecc 12:7.

Those who are asleep in 1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14 are those who have died since the beginning of time as all who are in their grave will hear the voice of Christ when He returns and calls all those in the grave to rise up. Some will be raised to eternal life with the Lord and others will be raised to damnation as there is only one resurrection, but two separate judgments, John 5:28, 29.

I'm sorry Sister but I can't seem to wrap my mind around the 1000 years as being figurative. In 2 Peter 3:8 if you pluck that verse out all alone, I suppose it could be construed to mean it speaking of the millennium, but if you read that entire chapter you will see that it is really talking about God's patience and longsuffering towards man to allow more people to come to Christ is how I read it. And the passage in Revelation 20:1-8 actually mentions and repeats the time frame of 1000 years six times! The emphasis appears to be on the exact time of the millennial kingdom rather than a figurative interpretation.

Plus, the bible says in quite a few places that the Lord will rule as King in Jerusalem on the throne of David. (Luke 1: 32-33). Apparently the millenial reign of the Lord will take place as a fulfillment of God's covenant to Abraham and Israel as a nation and to David...Genesis 12:1-3, Deuteronomy 20: 1-10 and 2nd Samuel 7...would those prophecies be figurative also? I think not.

There are quite a few specific prophecies in the OT which speak of the Lord reigning on the throne of David in Israel, and the peace which shall be over the Land of Israel during this time. That peace in Israel has never happened yet! These prophecies could not be figurative. They would require a time period in order to be literal and fulfilled in the future. That prophecy has never been fulfilled of Christ reigning in Israel on the throne of David. Those are not figurative. I just can't see it as figurative. There are many prophecies, some have been literally fulfilled, others have not yet. In order for the millennial reign to be figurative would mean that many other passages (prophecies) would have to be figurative also. I could do a little more searching and list the scriptures for some of these prophecies for you if you like, but I have read enough to convince me for myself.

Go read Revelation 20 again and see how many times that it says 1000 years, 1000 years, 1000 years and you can see what I mean!

Blessings to you Sister, but I disagree with you on this. :)

Question?

What does Eph.5:14,15 mean to you?

Wherefore he Saith, awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
See then that ye walk circumspectly , not as fools, but as wise.

Resurrected in truth, they were spiritually dead....
Resurrect has different meanings..

Let's back up the bus a little, Lol.

Let's take a look at Rev.19:7,8
Speaking of the marriage supper, this is after the Great harlot was judged, correct? Rev.19:2

This is what happens when Christ returns, correct?
The Day of the Lord...millennium, correct?
All be changed, correct?

Thus, during the millennium, all will be in the spiritual bodies, correct?
Rev.20:5,6

Rev.19:15-18
Smite the nation's, and shall rule with a rod of iron, and treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Rev.19:17,18
Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the Great God.

Eat the flesh of kings, horses, captains , mighty men, FLESH OF ALL MEN, both free and bond, both small and great.

All flesh will be gone during the reign of Christ, correct?
Rev.20:4-6
