yes the pier of all things was in that dream with the power plant. they left the earth while i was on that pier on the top of the 5 story power plant. oh that makes sense ,lol

What an interesting man Thomas B Manuel was. Colonel too and Father of Florida's turnpike. Kept himself busy didn't he!
Must have been a good man, jumping in the murky water to try and save those people's lives, but so sad they died. He must have felt horrible.

That pier gives me the creeps, I always think they are going to collapse and dump me in the sea. I can't swim :lol Good photo though.

you didn't know that water is shallow even out by the end of that pier. that is a solid piece and it took a storm cat one that went right over it.

I wasn't alive when the turnpike issue was around but the turn pike and the bridge I hated was the only way to my relatives prior to 1987, we had to get on it from ft pierce and exit from and to them, there are photos I need to take of any old 50s era turnpike toll booths as that is good material the toll booth at the end of turnpike feeder road was such a place and that has been revamped ,man that turn to get on the turnpike was a rush at 25mph.lol

Whenever I'm crossing a bridge I can feel a lot of tension until I get to the other side.
I don't have the fear of heights like i did. there is a house not far from that bridge that I worked on. there I lost that. I have crossed much taller bridges. the savannah river bridge being the recent and that is much taller then the manual p barber bridge. its a suspension bridge.

when I decide to visit south of me and cross that bridge I will stop to photo his bridge to which he was alive to see. he also was a ww1, and ww2 vet.leroy Collins was an interesting read. now I understand the man behind a plaque system in my county and also at ft pierce city hall.collins was his lt governor. ironically that bridge is why I notice these and have stopped to notice them. years ago when I would pass that bridge I noticed the face and name. I stopped once to read it. it is still there , a plaque north of this with its original bridge has been in my dreams.the bridge has been widened but its still there, I was looking at a topo.

Thankfully I took swimming lessons as a child so I am pretty much a little mermaid in the summer now. :lol

I was just wondering do they ever mean anything? :idea

Hi HeIsRisen, my answer in a word would be..."sometimes."

I would pay attention to and even write down any significant dreams especially if they are repeats.

Sometimes they have helped me and other times nothing ...However, it has been my experience that they can represent something going on that comes to the surface in a dream and can mean much more than the dream itself.

If you have a significant dream it is always good (after you write it down) to take it to the Lord and pray for His Will regarding the dream.

A few times I have found dreams have helped me make a decision but only if other confirmations have happened..like scriptures, counsel or words of others, and, of course, circumstances. I felt one of my dreams did help me find the right church once when my husband was gravely ill and I couldn't drive far. That worked out and I stayed there for 3 years.

But, good to exercise caution and not simply run with a dream. Do recall dreams in the bible did mean a lot and that can still happen. I am thinking of the dreams given to Joseph in the New Testament about taking the baby Jesus and his mother, Mary, to Egypt (and later another dream back) to escape the killing of boys under Herod.

If you have had a dream which keeps getting repeated or seems to have a lot of significance it is good to discuss it with a pastor or mature Christian friend who can give you counsel. Rest assured it is a good thing and doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. Sometimes, though like with Joseph, we can be forewarned in a dream. That happened to me once when I saw myself swimming and going down into the bottom of a murky sea and my head was bond in sea weed. In time I recognized this as a warning that there could be problems in a particular friendship and there were. I started diminishing contact and not letting myself be influenced in that relationship. I believe even now 30 some years later that was the right thing to do. I am grateful for the dream and the warning.

Also, be sure to write your dream down right after you wake up least you forget it as they tend to be forgotten pretty quickly most of the time.

Pay attention to images in the dream and ask yourself what they mean to you and what they may be saying. Dreams can contain symbols. Ask yourself what the most important things in the dream symbolize for you.
Not all dreams are from God, but I think some are, just as they were in the bible.

As far as dreaming after a rich dinner and too much dessert or spicy foods. Yep, happens! :biggrin

You make good and valid points. Very good post! :goodpostHowever sometimes I just like to dream just for the fun of it, and what I want to dream about exactly,.. well let's just say that you probably don't want to know. :lol

Suspension bridges are even worse.

I agree plaques are very interesting. I wonder why you dream of those bridges, there must be some significance.

Love this post sunflower.
I had dreams that led me away from a denomination and into another one. I was so grateful. I have had dreams that have come true too. One was exactly the same details and place, also the two people in the dream were exactly the same as in real life and I had never seen them before.
I find that if a particular dream plays on my mind a lot it turns out to be important.

Well you know what they say? A dream is a wish your heart makes. :biggrin2

On the us1 one,the bridge in question was in the middle of aussie pines, those are gone as there was a trailer park at the intersection just before. Now a few places exist there that weren't as a boy heading to fat boys ,that area was the end if civilization, nothing to the county line save a few trailer parks, the flea market ,the highlands.

In this dream there were variants,I was killed,I fought as invasion,I was in the helicopter engaging the enemy on the road ,killed by that in the earliest.

In color was it all
