Obviously you haven't learned what it means to be a Christian. Reading scriptures isn't enough, being kind to others isn't enough, losing your pride and gaining humility isn't enough.

It requires a relationship with the One Living God...He alone is why I am who I am.

I'm not a member of a "good guy" club. I'd never qualify for that.
But maybe you did join a "good guy" club for a while.
Job learned that lesson the hard way. Sometimes we need to be broken just so were able to see just a glimmer of how deep the Father's Love is for us.

Dear Shakaka My heart goes out to you.. I sense the pain you are going through, and I wish I could put my arms around you.
Only God understands exactly what you are going through, because we are all different. But you have to grieve in the way that is right for you.

No matter who this special person you have lost is, no matter how long ago it was, no matter what the circumstances were, or even if you lost them because they left or because the died, there are different stages of grief.
You are going through the natural stages of grief. The first thing is shock, even if you were expecting it to happen, next is disbelief, you can't believe they are not there any more and so comes denial. You cannot grieve properly until those stages have passed.
Then is the anger. This is helping you because you now accept your loss. Some people stay in this stage a short time others a long time. While you are in this stage you look for someone to blame, yourself, the person you have lost, God, medical people or just anyone. And so you take your anger on them.
Once this stage has gone you can grieve properly. So get yourself some new pillows and beat the he'll out of them. Punch them, shout and scream at them and then bury your face in them and soak them with tears.
It's not a nice journey you are on, but you will get there :hug

Well,.. I always live by the rule that even though I've done bad things before doesn't necessarily make me a bad person, I could never earn my way to Heaven but still, I might be a pain in the butt at times (in a teasing way :lol ) but deep down I do believe that I have a heart of gold. :) Anyways, I have to ask Shikaka the obvious question. If he really has lost all faith, hope, and belief in the Lord, then why did he sign up here in the first place? I do believe the reason is that he's still looking for answers.

I've also had my share of heartbreak as a lot of you already know, with my fiancée having been sent to prison for a crime he did not commit. I myself have yelled at God and cursed at God, called Him every name in the book and told Him that I wanted nothing more to do with Him, but through it all He still wanted to have a relationship with me and He never gave up on me either even when I gave up on Him.

Somewhere along the line I realized that it wasn't His fault, and instead of being angry with Him, I started turning to Him for support and He has been there for me and helping me get through it ever since. :) Brother, I hope you realize how much Jesus loves you and that you aren't alone. If He didn't love you then He wouldn't have died for you. :cross Now it's time for me to utter my famous catchphrase around here. Tons of prayers, hugs, and Christian love headed your way,.. incoming! :hug

Oh btw, I was listening to this song yesterday when I was having a bit of a rough day and doing a bit of a jazzy dance to it. It sometimes is really good medicine to just be silly when life is getting you down. :lol

In the minds of the believer he can love me all he wants, but until they expect that their God needs my love also that's where I draw the line.

He doesn't need your love,.. He wants it. There's a huge difference there. He gave you the free will whether or not you want to love Him and serve Him in return, but it's my job as a Christian to tell you the good news that no matter what you choose He will always love you.

Praying for you. As having a relationship with the Lord. Is the first and foremost most important relationship you could ever have. Praying for your heart and for the heart to heal.

A God who wants anything is not a God.

You need to focus on your own relationships, not be concerned what relationships others are having.

Says who? God is not a Tolkien character. He is a Holy God who can do anything except lie.
A being who is perfect and fulfilled all the time, who never hungers or thirsts, whos never sick or can come to harm needs nothing. Why because 100% of something can't be any more than 100% complete.

This begs the question why a God who needs no one or nothing would create creation in the first place.

Because God is good.
It isn't the answer you want but that is the answer.

The membership here cares about each other. We support each other. We believe in altruism. (It's because of our relationship with God)
You are saying that you want to reject that.

And I ask again:
Why are you here on this forum?
What do you think that you will gain in coming here?

We all know why we are here and what we gain. How about you?

You're here because you are safe from the sceptics and free thinkers banging on your door.

I was sifting through a scriptural list about the homeless, and this verse came up.

Matthew 26:11 ESV
For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me

What does Jesus mean "You will not always have me?"

You're here because you are safe from the sceptics and free thinkers banging on your door.
We are what is called an affinity group. We're here because we agree. We have the whole world that disagrees with us...those who you call "free thinking" are more slavish in thinking than we are. LOL

We aren't ruled by our wants and fears like they are. We may have wants and fears but they no longer control us.

So before I get to your question about the verse...

Can you please tell us why you are here?
What are you hoping to find?

No, you don't need to know.

"Sceptics and free thinkers" (your terms, not mine) often bang on our door here. Are you saying then..that you are a sceptic and free thinker? Again as others have asked I ask: "Why are you banging on our door?" What are you really seeking? Perhaps you are looking for proof somehow that God is really loving even though your heart was broken.

Most here do know how hard losing someone can be. We also know how wonderful finding someone can be which is testified over and over here by many who have found God and how He gives His grace to sustain us no matter what we face in life.

We share our lives here, joys, sorrow, losses, gains, lessons, etc. while administrators guard our words and privacy. In that sense there is safety or as much as we can expect on a forum on line. Yet, we have opened the door to you although we surely don't embrace or even like your attitude. We understand although we also know you don't understand that we can understand.

If nothing else I would think that as you read replies here you will have cause to pause and pause again. If not, so be it!

Prayerfully..

I find that true conversation and friendship does not come at the cost of being bludgeoned by the good book.
