Salvation means to be whole mind, body and soul. Salvation comes by Christ alone, John 3:3-6; Romans 10:9,10 as we confess we are sinners needing Gods grace. It is Gods grace that pardons our sin and it's Gods mercy that loves us unconditionally, Ephesians 2:8. At the moment of Spiritual rebirth we are only sealed by the Holy Spirit and not saved at that time until the day of redemption, Matthew 24:13; 2Cor 1:22; Eph 1:13; 4:30. When Christ returns and we are gathered to the Marriage Supper with Christ, Rev 19, at that moment we are saved meaning our names are found in the Lamb's book of life when the books are opened and we will stand before the judgement seat of Christ as He judges us on the works we did for Him whether they are good or bad as our rewards are given at that time, 2 Corinthians 5:10.

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. (Churches meaning the body of Christ)

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. The end means our physical life here on earth whether we are asleep in the grave or still alive at the second coming of Christ, 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-21.

What are we to overcome and endure until the end is that of the trials, tribulations and temptations set before us by Satan who comes to kill, steal and destroy our faith in Christ, but Christ came that they might have life, (those who by faith believe in Christ), and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus said, I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep, John 10:10, 11. We are not to fear what man can do to us who are Spiritually born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit as all man can do to us is to kill the body, but never the soul, but we are to fear (respect) God who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell, Matthew 10:28.

Remember, Satan is spirit not flesh and blood and can only work evil through those who are his own as he is opposite of the Holy Spirit that works for good through those who are Spiritually born again and indwelled with God's Holy Spirit.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him (beast out of the earth) to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. This is what we need to endure and also told to flee from, Matthew 24:15-21, if we are still alive at this time as many will bow down and worship this beast taking its mark. This is the patience of the saints, Rev 14:12, as the beast makes war with the saints trying to force them to take its mark.

Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Yes, salvation should be understood in a two fold way.

Salvation through faith: Now

Receiving the salvation of our soul: Future

Now -

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-9

Future -

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:6-9

so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28

I agree and 1 Peter Chapter 1 presents this in full detail, especially vs. 3-4 as I believe this is speaking about the New Jerusalem being prepared for us in heaven and will be ushered down as our inheritance on the last day after all is finished here on earth.

When Christ returns on the last day all prophecies will have been fulfilled as Christ makes an end to all the abominations, or in other words, and end of sin as it's cast into the lake of fire for then has salvation come to all who have endured by faith as the hope will then turn into reality.
