Jesus has already defeated the enemy.

Then why do you look for an enemy to fight?

The battle is already won!

If the battle is won, then why do you need armor?

Only death is not yet defeated..

O Death, were is thy sting?

We Christians also have the same victory in Christ!
But we don't understand it or act like it.

Because of Unbelief

Therefore we have been given the armour so that we can stand against evil.

The nature of our calling is to enter into our rest. But some because of unbelief will not enter into their rest; Some would seek a battle instead.

Amidst all that fine armor, the marching boots, the helmet, the shield and sword; might I ask the wise virgin where the oil trim lamp may be?

The Bride of Christ being the body of Christ that makes up His true church as He is the head of His church are all those who are Spiritually born again and indwelled with the Holy Spirit. We will always have Spiritual warfare here on earth until we enter our rest on the last day when Christ returns and we are then caught up to meet Him in the air as we have prepared ourselves to be joined with our Bridegroom being Christ Jesus. Meanwhile we have to have the full armor of God in order to stand against the enemy

Matthew 25:1-13 is a parable of five wise and five foolish virgins. The five wise virgins are the pure Bride of Christ made clean by the blood of the Lamb, sanctified and made holy before God being anointed and sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption as their names are written in the Lambs book of life. They/we have already prepared themselves to be with Christ even though they know not the day or hour of His return.

The five foolish virgins, even though they are good people, are not Spiritually prepared as they have never been Spiritually born again from above nor have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. These are the ones who only give lip service to the Lord, but are none of Christ own as their hearts are void of Him. Oil in scripture symbolizes the anointing of the Holy Spirit for which these foolish virgins have not and when they see Christ coming in the clouds it is to late for them as the door of Salvation will be closed forever.

Lamps represent the word of God in all truths as thy word is a lamp unto my feet. Foolish virgins had no truth found in them.

Oil represents the anointing of the Holy Spirit which the foolish virgins had not.

The nature of our calling as a Bride of Christ is to be prepared for Spiritual battle here on earth by wearing the full armor of God that we can stand against the enemy until Christ returns. It's when Christ returns and we are caught up to Him that our garment will be of fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

I totally agree. When we become the Bride our calling is to enter into the Holy War too.

Rev. 19

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Bride of God has the actual Love Relationship to give her the strength to do Greater War. That is why She follows Her Bridegroom into the War just after the Marriage. For her Bridegroom the War has not yet reached its final end. She is not chosen to marry to go and sit and do nothing while just watching Him doing the Holy War alone. Sure She enjoys that Relationship of Love with Her Bridgeroom. But part of that Relationship is to follow Him in establishing His Ruling Authority in a more Powerful Way until all His enemies is at His feet.

Isaiah 9
5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

If God called His Children to War and they have done so much War up to now then how much more not His Wife too. Who is now an Adult in the Word of God. And so much more Able as an "Adult" Living in the "measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ".

Eph. 4

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, . . .

The nature of our calling is to enter into our rest. But some because of unbelief will not enter into their rest; Some would seek a battle instead.

That Rest is in our Souls. When we conquered the enemy from within. This is our Personal War. And of course we have to conquer in this situation first.

But when we have Rest it does not mean the enemy in the World is also conquered. That mean that he is now to be taken on. Because we have now the Ability to do it. We reached the fullness of the Live of Jesus. And in Him we are now Able and just like Israel strong enough to take on the War in Canaan. While they could previously not do it. Their slave mentality and lack of walking with God has not yet produced the Strength of Faith to enter into Canaan. Same with us. As Babies and Children of God our lack of walking with God and our old weak sinners nature has not yet been conquered.

Eph. 4
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Then why do you look for an enemy to fight?

If the battle is won, then why do you need armor?

O Death, were is thy sting?

Because of Unbelief

You answered your own question there, by the last quote..

I totally agree. When we become the Bride our calling is to enter into the Holy War too.

Where is this Holy war that you speak of in the scripture? Where the Bride is arrayed in armor to go to war?

But when we have Rest it does not mean the enemy in the World is also conquered. That mean that he is now to be taken on.

Who is this enemy in the World that you wish to take on?

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Where in the beatitudes are the Warmongers being blessed?

You do not take to heart the question I asked of you! Instead you think of yourself to start teaching on the wise and foolish virgins.

But you did not take the time to consider the question, for there is no mention of an Oil lamp as part of the gospel armor. Nor do you you take the time to consider the armor for yourself, for the armor that you hold fast too is armor that YOU dress YOURSELF in. YOU put on the armor.

But to those who have overcome, of what use is the armor you once dressed yourself in?

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Do you think the shame of your nakedness might appear beneath a suite of armor that you fashioned for yourself?

..and the wedding was furnished with guests. And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?

And he was speechless.

Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.

But to those who have overcome, of what use is the armor you once dressed yourself in?

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

I have taken to heart all your questions and have answered each and everyone of them, including who the ten virgins and what the oil lamps represent and have done all of this without using book, chapter and verse, but yet giving that which has already been written. I have to question you why you do not want to use scripture within this discussion as there will we all find our answers as we share our understanding of the written word of God.

Let me ask you a few questions.

1. In your understanding who is the Bride of Christ and where are they right now?

2. How do you understand Spiritual warfare and the whole armor of God?

3. How do you understand the thief that wants to steal, kill and destroy us as how can there be rest for us while here on earth?

4. We are overcomers by that of God's strength, but do you not think there is yet much more we have to overcome before the return of Christ?

How can I be naked when it is the word of God that is the armour that covers me and protects me from the enemy.

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Eph 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

I have taken to heart all your questions and have answered each and everyone of them, including who the ten virgins and what the oil lamps represent and have done all of this without using book, chapter and verse, but yet giving that which has already been written.

I did not ask you who the 10 virgins were, nor did I ask you ask you to explain what you thought the oil lamps represent. Yet you set out to offer your knowledge of the ten virgins as a deflection from honestly answering my simple question.

Where is the oil lamp in the gospel armor? It's a rhetorical question for the oh so wise virgin.

I have to question you why you do not want to use scripture within this discussion

Um? :thinking

Obviously, because you just ignore them, and think to know better anyway.

2. How do you understand Spiritual warfare and the whole armor of God?

You have prepared yourself with a gospel of wrath, not the gospel of peace. Your feet are shod with boots of destruction.

You have girt your loins with truth, but what truth is that? What ever you claim to be truth to be from the scripture? Do you know all truths? Are you ever wrong? If so, then your truth falters.

And what is in the Breastplate of Righteousness that you wear. Is it your own righteousness as you measure yourself by the law? Your own righteous acts?

You put on your helmet of Salvation, but does that helmet fit you sure? Perhaps it is modeled after the doctrines of men? Which model do you wear, the Calvanist? How bout one of those OSAS discussions?

And your shield of faith, constructed finely of your own beliefs locked away tightly in the scriptures. You take a dent from time to time, but your faith is able to reconstruct it, as you acquiesce to new beliefs.

So every time you take a fiery dart from the enemy, you stomp about and flail your sword. When you settle down, you adjust your helmet, tighten your belt, shine your breastplate and then fix your shield.

If the good man has already succumbed to his death in warfare, then what threat of death remains for the good man in the resurrection?

ur.

Um? :thinking

Obviously, because you just ignore them, and think to know better anyway.

Oil lamps is not related to any war or armour. Taken out of context..

Then why do you look for an enemy to fight?

If the battle is won, then why do you need armor?

O Death, were is thy sting?

Because of Unbelief

Do you believe we are in a battle or not?

Oh, but the oil lamp is related to the call of the bridegroom.

You are probably right about that. In one sense everything in the Bible is related to everything..
I think that this is a somewhat complicated subject to understand..
At least for me.. so I won't say too much about it..

Christ has been seated by the right hand of God. Symbolise that He is resting.
We as true Christians are in He's eyes seated with Him.
Victory is won!

I think the reason for the battle is us as Christians not realising our place of rest an of victory..
Do you really understand the depth of this!

Remember also that satan is still the god of this world..

You may be in a battle. I on the other hand, sit at peace beneath my vine and my fig tree.

Does the calf of the stall tread out the corn with the ox?

Can't find the scripture about the ox?
Where is it?
