Konrad Lorenz noted the sometimes unbreakable bond formed between a pair of male and female dogs, something you don't usually see in wolves. It's as though they take a cue from humans.

In once case, Lorenz documents a dog destroying a wooden door over a period of several hours in order to be with his beloved.

They had intended to breed the female with other purebreds, but she was having none of it, reacting with extreme hostility to other male dogs.

makes me miss sasha and Cheyenne. those two were two different breds and sasha was a mom to Cheyenne. she would clean Cheyenne when she was cub. those two played for hours. it broke Cheyenne's heart when sasha was gone. its a howl of mourning that I cant forget. both are playing with robin in heaven.

Who's Robin?
a mutt that monica owned that was one year older then Cheyenne and was like a sister and mother to Cheyenne when Cheyenne lived with monica for six months. they already knew each other then, as did sasha. when that happened sasha was gone and we couldn't keep Cheyenne. when monica moved back and those to saw each other the licking and greeting was adorable, Cheyenne had this bark of im happy to see you that she did for those that she loved. she barked like that for monica, Nathan, myself and my wife if we were away for months or even a few days. robin and Cheyenne would also play for hours and often share the seats in the car, robin would ride shotgun then switch on the way back. I wish I had photos of them doing that. monica used to groom them . robin was 15 when she was ran over and didn't die from any health issue and outlived Cheyenne by a few months.
