    Christianity in the middle ages.

No, that is not at all what I am saying. What I was suggesting is simply that one I cannot know what one's true motives are in anything. Are you suggesting that you can? Can you know for certain that every good act someone does towards you is done without any hidden motive? I base my...

    Christianity in the middle ages.

There are people today who use the Gospel for personal gain. There are people today who use religion to pursue an agenda. Only God truly knows a man's heart. I can trust that someone intentions are sincere but that does not mean they are. I can only test my own heart and be sure that it is pure.

    Christianity in the middle ages.

Definitely a mistake. As to whether Christians today should take responsibility for it? One cannot control what those in the past have done. Based on many of the actions performed by Christians in the middle ages, I would question the authenticity of their religion. Although I imagine it is...

    Grad School anyone?

Perhaps you're right. I've heard of engineers, especially in the oil and steel business, who are expected to work 60 to 70 hours a week. Thankfully, no one seems to be expected to work more than 40 hours a week at my job. I enjoy working, but I like being able to have a life outside of work...

Re: What book has changed your life the most? How did it affect your way of life and I looked that book up on amazon. I don't think I've ever seen a book get such high ratings. I'm going to check it out when I finish the books I'm reading at the moment. Thanks for sharing :)

    Grad School anyone?

Yea I've heard an MBA is a nice addition to most engineering degrees, but I think it depends on what one wants to do with his career. I could be wrong, but my perception is that one could advance through management or remain on the more technical side of things and advance that way. I think...

    Grad School anyone?

I got my undergrad in Electrical Engineering, and wouldn't need a grad degree to advance in my company but my company would reimburse me for the tuition costs, provided I got good marks in my classes, which makes a grad degree more appealing.

    Grad School anyone?

Is anyone going to grad school or planning on going to grad school? Perhaps you don't think you'll go to grad school right away but might pursue it later on in life? If you are doing grad school or think you might, what are you/would you go for? I just got my bachelor's and am not going to...

    Active Duty Christian

Hey welcome! :) What part of Oklahoma are you from? I grew up in the Tulsa area. Also, Bikers for Christ is a super cool group. I don't bike at all but I go on Bill Glass prison ministry trips and there are always a lot of guys from Bikers for Christ there. Its always a huge blessing to have...

    Mac's & The Virus

I think the whole virus talk for any system seems to be blown a bit out of proportion. I've had the same 350$ windows laptop for goin on 6 years now, only used AVAST free antivirus software, and only had 1 virus that took 10 minutes to remove. I can also only think of one other person who's...

Ok, nice. I just graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I can Skype at some point, today is simply not a good day for it at my apartment.

What is your major, if I might ask? I can Skype at some point, today is simply not a good day for it at my apartment.

I'd rather avoid Skype at this time simply because I share a small apartment with other people so it is not conducive to Skyping. You could send me P.M's though.

Ok, yea it did get cut it off. That makes more sense now. If you believe that the universe didn't need to be created by God then doesn't that assume you believe it happened by chance? Or are you simply suggesting it could have happened by either but didn't have to happen via a God? On...

I'm not exactly sure why you put BILLION and AGO in caps? I'm assuming you are trying to emphasize it but am not exactly sure why since it does not seem to have any relevance in our dialogue. You are going to have to clarify your statement here then. What do you mean by I just believe that...

Atheist: a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings. Deny: to state that (something declared or believed to be true) is not true Assert: to state with assurance, confidence, or force So according to your definition of Atheism, an Atheist is one who...

If one does not assert one way or the other regarding a belief in God then can he truly be considered a Christian or Atheist? Wouldn't he simply be an agnostic. One could be an agnostic and lean one way or the other. Although it is somewhat pointless to argue semantics. I agree that truth is...

Even atheism relies on faith. John Leslie, who is an agnostic, used a great analogy to describe the creation of the world in his book Universes, which is a book on anthropic principles. He said, imagine you are about to be executed, you stand in front of the firing range, hear the guns go off...

    Programming Languages

VHDL is used for CPLD's and FPGA's which are both used heavily in digital circuit design. Basically you use FPGA's or CPLD's if you can't find a microcontroller or microprocessor that has enough processing power to do what you need to do and you don't want to spend the time and/or money to...
