ok. my parents came to the condo today to make a (high quality) meal and install some stuff. I was...nervous. I used to be so lazy and messy, I was thinking...oh man, they're gonna get here, and they're gonne be furious, and....

nope, none of it. it even smelled pretty. for a minute there, I'd over-sprayed the "natural, essential oil" air spray, so I had to air the condo out. true story. thankfully, its pretty small and that was over before the parents arrived, and...

just a pleasant, nice evening. they even brought lil baby dog (she's 15 now, btw). on their way out, they even complimented me on how nice the place looks and what a good job I'm doing of maintaining everything.

This is happening because of Christ, btw. Christ spared me, spared my parents, blessed us, and He's changed me...so we -can- be a family, not just 2 parents taking care of an aging mess up who can't get his life straight. I Mean...I cannot work, but psychosis or whatever was never really something I signed up for, neither was the electroshock (surprise!). But, thanks to Christ, that's OK, and...

-sigh- I've been transformed by Christ, and its ongoing. To keep it Biblical, I have been transformed and am being transformed vs "conformed unto the ways of this world" by the "renewal of my mind," which...

honestly, I know Jesus says to "count the costs" of following Him, but my life now is often joyful, even happy, and my existence in the world was anything but, so...maybe I just lost out on all the delusions, day dreams, fake friends of who I once was, before He saved me? That's neither here nor there...

I even went fishing with mah dad! I mean, it was just for a lil bit, in some land near the condo complex, but...yeah. yeah. Good times....thanks to Christ. :)

Praise God for His mercy!

CE, this is great news and I am very happy to see you enjoying and flourishing in your new digs. I am so happy to hear your parents are doing well. I have not been around here much....How is Verna?

Verna's...well, her health is better and her son is getting closer to her. Her faith is still inspiring. I don't like how people in her life demand so much of her time and limited resources. I mean...I take up her time, but its over the phone and I don't demand gifts or anything....its looking like she's gonna need to set up some boundaries.

on the plus side, she's trying to make lemonade out of lemons and take a quick trip to see a friend, in part for a funeral but mostly to catch up. I'm happy for her, and I hope she does end up making the trip.

Thanks for asking, btw. :)

That's great that both your parents are on board with you!!
There are some who have parents who are disapproving of following Jesus, and that can be very tough.

But like Jesus said that he came for division, and that includes even families.
Those that will do his will and those who will not

Thanks for sharing about your parents and all else. A blessing to read. They sound awesome to me and so pleased with their son. Merry Christmas soon! :)

Excuse the less than awesome quoting skills...im on my phone.

Following Christ has been good for my relationship with my family. Theyre not hard on me now...its pretty much everyone else around me in my community. Im labelled with all kinds of severe mental health problems, when really im more lucid than ever. Long story...i seem to have been healed of a lot of health problems, with 0 standard treatments...

So now im considered schizophrenic in my community. True story. I think my parents are happy that I am healthy and alive, but they don't see the hand of God in it, i dont think. And i cannot get them to see it, either. Kind of frustrating.

Meanwhile....im in this odd situation in which im healthy but labeled with the mental health stuff...

And i dont have any non Christian people who actually listen to me. Im blessed, but effectively invalidated, socially.
