I don't know how to let you go

Day and night you are in all my thoughts

You are every which way I turn

And I can't go back and fix what I did

And I can't go forward and think you'll be there

In all these wasted years

I've become so stuck on you

And I can't accept it'll ever be over

And I can't accept that you are gone

But I'm afraid you're wrapped up in cotton wool

But I'm afraid you're that side of the shallow end

And I'm on the other side looking in

Waiting for you to forgive me

Waiting for you to come back

Waiting for you

Waiting for you

Waiting for you.

I find that true conversation and friendship does not come at the cost of being bludgeoned by the good book.
I agree..I don't usually make friends who attempt to bludgeon me by condescending and hitting me over the head with scriptures. But if they are shared with good intention and loving mercy I listen. I am glad I did listen years ago when I was in high school going to a youth rally and the youth minister's sermon challenged us to "walk the extra mile" right out of the good book. He didn't (bludgeon) or hit me over the head with it; but I believe these words gave me cause to rethink my then attitude and led to my conversion in 1954 at age 17 and reading of the bible.

Doesn't the Bible say that God writes his laws in our hearts, so we all know instinctively the good from the bad. You never needed anyone to tell you the gospel, because it is written in your heart (You know what I mean?)

Shikaka, are you "bludgeoning" (your term in a previous post) by alluding to this scripture?
Romans 2:14-15 New International Version (NIV)
" (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)"

Yep, we are all responsible then, aren't we? We all have our God-given consciences to choose between right and wrong. Note.."God-given" conscience. Who wrote the law on their hearts?

We are not God, however. We did not create the universe. An uncaused cause created the universe and we call that cause, "God"...and for those of us who believe we give God many titles as well. My favorite is "I am who I am." as God refers to himself. And, the words of Jesus, "Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name..." Almighty God, my Creator, my Father...

You know something just also came to mind,.. Idk for sure, but it is very possible that this guy is just here for our attention and reactions. I'm not saying that he is, but considering the fact that he doesn't seem to be very interested in what we have to say and doesn't seem like he's a seeker,.. the troll alarms are starting to go off. Just saying that it's kind of hard to tell sometimes as I was just telling Tessa last night. Especially since he still won't tell us the true reason that he's here. Seems awfully fishy to me.... :chin

I was sifting through a scriptural list about the homeless, and this verse came up.

Matthew 26:11 E SV
For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me

What does Jesus mean "You will not always have me?"

Jesus was preparing them for when He would die.
But he also promised He would be with them in Spirit Matthew 28:20 NKJV

Shikaka What are you looking for? How can we help you?

Shikaka can you talk about this? What has happened?

I was a Christian once, it turned me into a maniac. It deprived me of my right to think for myself, terrorised me of a fictional place called hell, and made me feel like an all round terrible person.
My goodness!!
God loves His creation.
Was it the church?
If so, I'm happy you left.

I just happened to come upon your post,,,,
Can't remember if I welcomed you to our forum...
We have very nice people here and I believe you'll be able to find some nice friends for you to fellowship with.

God bless you.
