A force for social change?

I am just pondering the question and would like people's opinion on how they feel Christian beliefs make an impact on today's society? Have we progressed or gone backwards? What do you think?

We are reaching more people today. Because of TV and other media, the world continues to get even more evil, but I think the Christians are making a good impact, and overseas, Christians are really on the rise, in places like China, Africa, India and others. Here in the states we are on the rise also. And a lot of churches like my church here in Philadelphia, PA is reaching out to the community and seeing some good come of it. I just played drums all week at a revival in Camden, New Jersey, that my church gave, souls were being led to the Lord all 5 nights, they included crack addicts, prostitutes, alchoholics and so on. If Christians go outside the four walls of their church, we can do a lot, My church is also on TV all over the world every Sunday morning, the plan is to reach out, to the unsaved and the backslider.

Thanks for your encouraging report there Lewis. I was just waiting to see if anyone else would respond. Are you in the US or the UK? It's just that it seems to me the US is far more progressive and active than we are in the UK and our churches simply do not seem to grow. All of our traditional or institutional bodies kind of seem to be dwindling in size as people die off and not to many young people stick around to be indoctrinated into traditional religion. I don't know how it is though on the score with free churches or whatever but I'd love to see a church with some life in it in my area, unless God is hiding something from me I don't see anything very exciting happening around here! I'm so tired of going to one denom. after another and getting sidelined because I differ in view over one thing or another. We aren't going anywhere when we're supposed to be attempting to reach unity! But then again maybe that's just my flesh whinging.. maybe I ought to just pray and see what happens!

A prayer for people in the UK who really want to see God move!
