I have concerns about a God who can access my mind 24/7 To me that would be a breach of my privacy, and I don't believe an inch that a real God would do that.

The thought of anyone reading my mind without permission is a frightening concept. It doesn't matter if a God can do that, it shouldn't unless I permit it.

Then it's even more scary to think that in heaven you will live with this God in your head for all eternity.

Yes, frightening.

Privicy isn't a right. Your permission isn't required. But let me both frighten you and comfort you more.

You've a way with words and have a decent way to describe fear into another. But even with your discription it's worse then you describe. God is not just all knowing, He is both all powerful and sovereign over everything. The sovereignty aspect is what should concern you the most. It is by God's hand that those who come to Him come to Him, and it is by His authority that they can stay. Conversely in the Old Testiment it's mentioned about people sinning and God giving them over to their sins. Letting them go down the rabbit hole. Worse still, not only does God know your thoughts, He knows your choices, and it's by His allowance that any of our choices are successful or not. Let that sink in. Everything you do, everything anyone does good or bad that they successfully do is done by God's master plan in work. There is great reason to be frightened by God. Not just on the side of eternity, but on every day life and struggles as well. We are entirely in God's hands. Fear God, because there is great wisdom in that.

However, with that in mind. The is one thing to give hope. And it's a really big thing. God is not evil. They say power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. But in my opinion that saying has it backwards. Power doesn't corrupt. We are already corrupt. Power makes that corruption more evidant, and larger. A king can do great things both good and evil, because he has the power to do so. But if the king was not inclined towards evil, that power would be in trustworthy hands.

I wish I can better tell you how God isn't corrupt. But I think it's better if you just see it for yourself. So I really recommend that you seek Him.

Don't take my word for it then. Look for Him yourself. If you find Him, even just briefly, it should wake you up from not knowing He's real.

But with that said. Here's a heads up. That kind of language won't be tolerated here. Watch you mouth and be respectful. If you can't you won't last long here. The standards are in the Terms of Service in the middle of the blue bar at the top of the page.

On a side note, watch out any motivation to drop down to name calling. It's usually a sign of having nothing better to say or of having been wronged by the other person. If you've never been wronged by someone then calling them what ever name you want is a sign that you have nothing left to stand on, but refuse to leave it alone. Walk away if you have nothing better to say. Silence is better then our anger and our words getting the better of us.

To the contrary! I pray daily that God would "invade my privacy" and guide my thoughts and my desires. God is perfection and I seek perfection as Jesus said, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48 NKJV

Then I suppose you are not of the elect...predestined. But, that's a topic for another discussion.

But, food for thought....can a lump of clay tell the potter what it should be?
Hmmmmmm, breach of privacy. What are you hiding? Sin? I know, if you make God go away perhaps your sin will go away also. Is this why you posted "I don't believe an inch that a real God would do that".

I wouldn't say God reads your mind I would say God knows your mind and every thought that comes it's way.

Psalms 139:4
You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.

Jeremiah 1:5
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart
and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

So I would say that with regard to God there is no privacy however if you want nothing to do with God and do not want him to work in you to renew your mind he will (with a heavy heart) respect that and say "ok I won't but when you are ready I'm here for you"

I would have to agree with you.

Hey WarZone

It's not like you Have To join the club.
Those of us who have God in our head are most happy to have Him there!

You can not like it if you want, but you can't do anything about it. The fact is, you have never been alone in your entire life. God has been in your head and in your heart from the beginning. It's a blessing in fact! but the way I understand it, is that everything that you have ever thought or spoken has been recorded in the Kingdom realm. I've heard that there are Scribe Angels, and two are assigned each individual (??) one will record and write in a book every word that you speak and so forth. I've heard similar from a few different preacher/pastor's over the years so I tend to believe it.

It was frightening to me at one point when I first realized it too. Because of the lack of integrity in my heart. I started looking at people differently. (If this is being recorded, how should I handle it in a way that may sound good later on if it were to ever come up, cough-cough...)
and it's actually pretty easy most of the time. Just do the right thing. We all have us a little "God package" within us, that is our link to the Kingdom realm and our Father. I appreciate it and think it's great! The Holy Spirit is with us always. Knowing that kind of spurs me to good works. You better get used to it, Brother. You can work with it easier than fighting it. But you do have to walk with honor more than you did yesterday.

Then comes the fight.
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed more.”...//

This Indian proverb is talking about our thought life. What you think about, is who you will become. The Bible even talks about it too. It tells you what to think and what not to think. We can change our heart by feeding it the right food. Then think about it, meditate upon it, form life applications from it. Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. What you read, watch and think about it, is what fills up your heart and then is who you are. What I'm saying is that, just like you have to feed your body every day, you have to feed your spirit every day also. This is done by reading the word of God and hearing the word of God, and good things. As you input more and more into your heart and spirit, it displaces older things that were there and it's sorta like, the cup of your heart overflows with the newer input and the older runs out, with the iniquity which was present before. So don't think bad things, but rather;

Philippians 4:8
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.../

I nearly laughed out loud when I read this.

To suggest we have any power over God is the ultimate in misguided arrogance. God created us, we are His. He owns us body and soul. We have no "rights" when it comes to Him, except that we are loved equally, regardless of what we do. Which is great as there is nothing we can do to earn His favor, in any way.

Any other rights we may think we have in this world is merely an illusion man has conjured to make himself feel more important and instill some sort of power over others. It is all just a flimsy house of cards that will eventually fall apart.

I'm sure we all have them. I trust God, and am glad for Him. But I wouldn't want a neighbor to know my thoughts. Expecially certian thoughts. I doubt anyone is different in that aspect.
Absolutely!
But God knowing my thoughts is not a problem because I know that He has perfect Love for me and desires only what is best for me.
My neighbor????....maybe not so much.

I fully agree. WarZero has points that scare him. He doesn't know God, or know to trust God. After all we is God if you don't believe in God. Those who believe in Him are His representives. We are as Christians, it' expectations very hard to bring my sins to light even among my brothers and sisters in faith. I don't blame WarZero for his error in judgement, but I hope his fear leaves him someday. As you know God is more then worth it. :)

WarZero's viewpoint is certainly not mine but it seriously interests me. We all grow in our understanding of God and in our relationship with him. Trust is something which grows too. WarZero's perspective shows he does not trust God. Nor does he understand just how big God is. It may frighten him to think God can read his mind but does he realise that the same God created all physical matter and is holding it together with his power? God is holding his body together. And mine and doing heaps of other things.

Look out at the stars and read something about how big the universe is and contemplate stuff like quantum superposition and you realise that since God made all of it and is keeping it all together he is scary big and scary strange. But that is one reason he sent Jesus.

Jesus is fully God and fully human, part of the Godhead. God was showing us through Jesus that we do not need to be scared of him. Jesus intensely loved all those around him. He was gentle. Never hurt anyone. Never broke trust. There was nothing to fear about him. Nothing that is unless you were up to naughty stuff or opposing him and even then Jesus would love you while trying to set you straight.

So, I would say: WarZero, if you are reading this, when I first had an experience of God as a teenager I was not happy at all. I was looking for something else after having rejected Christianity and Jesus. However, I came to a point where I could either put down my anger at God not being who I wanted him to be and start to try and trust him or I could harden my heart to him and go on. And for me at that time, it was go on in misery 'cause I was not doing so good. Hurt my pride submitting to him, even though it was all taking place in the privacy of my bedroom. But is was the best thing I ever did.

WarZero, God loves you, he understands your fears, he has a path he wants to take you forward on in faith. But at some point, like I did, you have to lay down some of your ideas about God and pick up deeper and more satisfying understanding. I am not telling you which things to lay down, that is between you and God. God is not going to reject you because of your thoughts. You do not need to worry about that. I just encourage you not to harden your heart but work with God so your trust builds up and the fear goes.

Yes, frightening.

God doesn't live in your head, your thoughts are your own. He lives in your heart and searches the mind of the Spirit living inside you.

No, He sure doesn't. He lives in your tent with you near your heart. I used to think that our conscience was the Holy Spirit. Just recently the Lord give me revelation on this! Our conscience is our spirit's voice talking to us. The Holy Spirit bears witness to our spirit, our spirit warns us off of sin by being what men named our conscience..

Roman 9:1
9 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,.../

I don't know how I missed this so many times! :lol

If someone is reading your mind it ain't God....why do you think that it is necessary to prove yourself to Him by how you live?

Your mind is the second most intimate part of you next to your soul God doesn't invade those areas,He even gives you the choice to go to Hell if you want.

I mean come on think?!
