Re: Abomination of Desolation in 70AD

And the rapture is just plain not there at all period.
We are not talking about any Rapture in this thread. It's a Latin word anyway that sounds way more cooler than caught up. It's not an idea, the Day of Jesus christ is different than the day of the Lord. Both days end things. The day of the anointed, the day of the Lord......

Even so with the History, I need the History on the 6th seal...... and that generation. There is No history but a temple that might have been knocked down. That don't trump the Lord coming with Angels in the clouds with power and glory. How that get missed????, You don't pick and choose what you want in that Generation because Jesus mentioned it both times in Luke 21 and Mat 24 after all he said.

Mike.
Well Mike, if you choose to believe that for hundreds of years all the Bible men where wrong, until Darby and Schofield, that's your choice and you are free to believe that. And that the Jews don't know what their own words, idioms, phrases mean....oh well. Blessings :)

Oh my, and I thought I was a 'partial futurist'.
I guess I could be like Paul being Jew for the Jews and gentile for the gentiles. When discussing with a preterist, I could say I'm partial and when discussing with a futurist, I could say I'm a partial.

PERFECT! :thumbsup

One lesson I have learned in 66 years is those who think they are an authority need to be under authority.

9 And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. 11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. 13 But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days." Daniel 12:9-13

Anybody seen Daniel around?

Based on the Preterist theology, Daniel would have rose from the dead in 70 AD.

And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days...

The AoD will be set up in a reconstructed Temple after the daily sacrifices are taken away by the man of sin, the son of perdition, who is called the lawless one.

At the end of the days, Jesus Christ will return and destroy the lawless one with the brightness of His Coming.

On the last day, He will raise us up!

Us includes Daniel.

Did you read my post 15. It thoroughly refuted your statements.
Seems very little is being said about what is actually in the text (Mark 13)!!!

So is the "end of days" the same thing as the "end of the age"?
The Last day is the last day of this age.

The end of days is associated with the resurrection.

Have there been other ages? If so when were they? Thanks, Deborah
The scriptures have the answer.

What ever occurred in ages past and whatever may occur in the ages to come, we still are in this age.

In this age, people marry and they die.

In that age, people neither marry, nor do they die anymore.

So while it is still called "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion".

Dan.12:13 has no reference to a "resurrection"

The word "arise" in the Hebrew is ""quwm" which is not in this verse.

The KJV properly translates this phrase "stand in thy lot".....
The Hebrew word translated "stand" in this scripture is "amad" and means "to stand, remain, endure, to stand still"

Absolutely nothing to do with a "resurrection".....your translation has inserted the word "arise" which is nowhere in the text nor is it the meaning of the text.

The Last Days, End of Age................. The Generation that See's these things will be the end of the age. Clear enough.

Dan_12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

1,000's of years we ride Elephants to Mcdonalds, donkey's behind Camels in drive through. Suddenly in the 1900's things change. From wright brothers, to jets. Many prophets such as Smith Wigglesworth are told by the Lord He is coming soon. It starts, it's rolling. What mankind could not figure out for 1,000's of years, suddenly, BAM, man gets a clue and the advances in the last 120 have been nothing short of amazing compared to the last 1,000's of years.

Jerusalem would be a burdensome stone to all nations.................... The Eastern Gate is now in place and shut. (Zech 12:3) (Eze 44:1-3)
All nations are focused on Israel today. They are the center of all attention getting the U.S, and U.N involved constantly. Such a tiny Nation that sways great powers.

I could fill a page or so of this stuff that is verifiable today, all tied to the end, that last generation that will see the end of the age. So much more verifiable news than some temple getting knocked over in 70ad. I don't like using any news though to teach the Word of God, but if your going to claim it, then at least it should be there somewhere. No roaring seas, no mens hearts failing them for the signs in the sky they see with their eyes... (Pretty frighting Hyperbole if you ask me)

sigh........

Israel divided by nations.................................. (Joel 3:2) (Danial 11:39) U.N resolution something 181??? divided the West Bank and some other lands.

Trying not to bring news into anything, I have kept quite, but there is just way to much going on since 1900 that tells me nobody cared about some temple in 70ad. Way more evidence and news that we are in that Generation or the next that will see the end of age.

If you want to go with some historical event back in 70ad, I have about 20 more that point to the fact that the Generation Jesus was talking about is starting now, or starting very soon.

Daniel 12 is about the end of days, the resurrection as well as the associated tribulation that is triggered by the Abomination of Desolation.

Anybody that would deny that the resurrection is what is referred to can't read black and white.

1 "At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. 13 But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days."

You keep saying "The Last Days, End of Age................. The Generation that See's these things will be the end of the age. Clear enough."

Problem: Both Mark13 and Luke 21 mention nothing about the "end of the age"!
Please respond to my post 15 of this thread, I refute your argument that says "no question was asked about the temple".
I clearly showed that Jerusalem and the temples destruction were the ONLY thing asked about and bring discussed.

If I have erred in my reasonings please show me where, I have clearly shown how you have.....!

Sidebar:
Brother Mike, I challenge you to show me one time in the gospels where the phrase "this generation" when spoken by Jesus, refers to any generation other than Jesus' own 1st century contemporary generation!

I dare you Brother!.....But first deal with post 15 please.

Thanks

Amad means to literally tarry, or abide in place. Stand ground, remain, be settled.

Arise was used once by the KJV.

Est 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Another army standing, tarrying, ready to (Arise) in another place. Does not denote a resurrection.

I clearly showed that Jerusalem and the temples destruction were the ONLY thing asked about and bring discussed.

Luk 21:5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
Luk 21:6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Luk 21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

Mat 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Is not Luke 21 and Matt not the same account? Matt gives a more detailed description but it was all by the Holy Spirit and same account.

I already showed you, they were checking out the temple, the precious stones, and gifts. Jesus then said no stone will be left that is not thrown down.

1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
Luk 21:5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

Now why would Jesus talk about some temple getting knocked over, after I gave you the scripture comparison that we are those gifts and precious stones laid on the chief corner stone?

Jesus never mentioned the Temple getting knocked over. He said each stone will be cast down. Jesus then goes into telling them what to expect, how they are thrown into prison, and in that generation many hearts grow cold.

Now many were left or we would not have the Word today, so All those stones getting thrown down to the last one has yet to happen. Every last stone must be removed from the chief corner stone.

Eph_2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

I find it hard to believe Jesus was not more focused on His Church than some old temple that would have fallen apart anyway.

John 5:25 "Verily verily I say unto you, the hour is coming AND NOW IS, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live"

Daniel 12:2 was fulfilled 2000 years ago, and still finds fulfillment through the ministry of the church.

Also, look at the words "thy people" in verse 1. ....."thy people shall be delivered..."

According to you, "thy people" should only refer to Daniels people (the Jews). After all, isn't that why you say Dan.9:24 is unfulfilled, because the prophecy was given to Daniels people (the Jews).
"seventy weeks are determined to THY PEOPLE..."

How can Dan.12:2 be the resurrection when it's only referring to Daniels people "thy people"?

Also Dan.12:2 says "...MANY of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake...."
It says "many" not "all"
Compare this with John 5:28-29 "Marvel not at this, for the hour is coming in the which ALL WHO ARE IN THE GRAVES shall hear his voice and shall come forth.....

John 5 is "physical resurrection" when ALL the dead rise
Dan 12 is "spiritual resurrection" when MANY of the JEWS (the election by grace) heard the gospel and "passed from death unto life". (John 5:24).......at the end of that age.

I have already dealt with verse 11 of Dan.12 and shown that "rise" is a improper translation according to the original Hebrew word.
