I am blessed to be an American. Lemme just get that out of the way, before I come across as super critical of this great nation. Problem is....
because of the rise in drug overdoses and suicides and alcohol related deaths, avg. life expectancy is going -down- a bit. so many young and young-ish people dying from this nonsense...
and the answer right now seems to be either jail (not fun) or 'treatment,' which--take it from me--does not work.
I ask that we pray for this great nation and all the lost souls of America, pumping themselves full of fentanyl or oxy or adderall or xanax or...some crazy combo...
for the destroyed families, communities ripped to shreds by decades of stagnant wages, diminishing opportunities, a society in which the haves want to take more and more...and they have, already...
while many people slip into poverty, food insecurity, madness, prison, drugs, suicide.
and...obviously, for those of you who know my backstory, this --hits home-- big time. i was electroshocked and lobotomized (not voluntarily, but hey...brain damage is brain damage is brain damage, am i right?) in 'well-regarded' facilities. ive been in jail. by the grace of God...
my intelligence is back, my eyes are bright, and my record seems to have been -sealed-. I am...an exception that proves the rule.
there's a whole lotta mean-ness in this world, as verna often tells me. and she's right. US culture has been consumed by hatred, self-love, self-destruction, immorality, and --surprise, surprise-- despair and self-murder.
let's pray that The Lord will bring deliverance to some lost souls out there. Amen?
