I've often been fascinated with this portion of the scripture because of its living and powerful way of showing us the works of the LORD..

Do you think and believe that this verse is true today... iow, is the LORD calling all men (in the first Adam) to repentance ?

Is He that true light which lighteth every man that comes into the world.. ?

What think ye ?

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them

Another interesting verse here...

How does this speak to us in a living and powerful way today ?

And the Lord God called unto Adam...

Reads sorta the same idea as

Joh_12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

I agree... and because we have the biblical precedent of God calling ADAM, it's basically undeniable that all men means all men... at least imo.. :)

He is that true light which lighteth every man that comes into the world.

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them

Another interesting verse here... (above)

How does this speak to us in a living and powerful way today ?

I mean, if the word truly is living and powerful (which I know it is), then what is it saying to you right here, right now ?

Does the word of God have a time stamp on it so to speak ? Is it outdated ? Can it only say one thing, or can it speak with miraculous detail, as always in its living and powerful way ?

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world..

Can you imagine that day when Adam became aware of their nakedness..?

It happens to all men doesn't it ?

It's not when we're innocent little boys, it's when we become men...

And that's when the LORD comes calling...

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Re: Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed

Does the word of God have a time stamp on it so to speak ?

Absolutely not.

Malachi 3:6

6 “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.

Psalm 12:6-7

6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Amen Edward, I could not agree more as I do believe that the word of God is living and powerful.

That's why I asked, what do these verses say to us right here, right now..?

Yes I believe this. Romans 10:9 is a choice we make. Blessings.

oh, some things have a time stamp.

"these are the statues and ordinances for the sons of aaron forever" unless you all think we should still have the sons of aaron over us.

Re: Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed

Can it only say one thing, or can it speak with miraculous detail, as always in its living and powerful way ?

This is a good question. The answer is absolutely yes. One can study the scriptures for a lifetime and not get it all. People discover more details and subtle or hidden truths every day now in the scriptures. For example...get out your pen and paper and/or calculator and follow this message...LOL. Really. I dropped out fast, I'm not good at math.

Amen Edward... and that's just what I like to refer to as the 'mechanical' aspects of the scriptures... their structure for example.. that in itself is miraculous, no doubt in my mind.

The words which the LORD speaks are SPIRIT and they are LIFE.. they're truly miraculous in their ability to bring the mind of Christ... into the minds and hearts of His creatures.

Another point which I'm trying to illustrate is how this verse Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them... can speak in its miraculous way to us...

WE know that Adam speaks for the entire human race.. does it not ? Has not the Lord created all men from one blood..?

The Apostle Paul calls him the first Adam.

Then we have Adam's wife, who is the mother of all living.

The LORD covered them... after the deception and even the disobedience, the LORD covered them.

I believe that this portion of the word of God speaks miraculously to the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ died for all men, and not only for a select group.. as so many preach today.

And of course that is what the Apostle John teaches us in simplicity and in truth, that Christ died not for our sins only, but for the sin of the world.

IMO this is a vital piece of the living and powerful word of God which reveals this important gospel truth to us.

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Now, just as we can see the LORD clothing Adam (and his wife, the mother of all living), we can also see the LORD calling to Adam... again, meaning that the LORD is calling ALL MEN in the first Adam...

And of course the Apostle John affirms this... that He is that true light which lighteth every man that comes into the world.

Now some are going to say well I received a 'special' or effectual call while others only receive a general call..

To that I say NONSENSE...

But then again, many need to feel that they are special...

The Apostle to the Gentiles teaches us that the LORD is not far from any of us... That He has appointed the times of our habitation that we might happily seek Him...

And of course He has come to seek and to save the lost.. which of course is every last one of us in the first Adam. God is commanding all men everywhere to repent... and this is what the Apostle preached... Repentance toward God and Faith toward The Lord Jesus Christ.

For He is that true light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world...

Now some are going to say well I received a 'special' or effectual call while others only receive a general call..

But then again, many need to feel that they are special...

Well...you're probably right. Even David and Moses and all those spiritual giants sinned, we just don't know the details of all of it. We know some. So it's not like they're better than us. Is it wrong to feel special that the Lord died to save YOU? I feel sort of special that He would die for me. I don't think I'm better than anyone else. Quite the contrary. But I do feel special that he would do that for me. I suppose some could let it go to their head, but those people...are they really walking with the Lord? Pride goeth before destruction.

Do you think it's possible to feel special and have humility?

Sure it is possible... and perfectly normal imo.

Although the 'special' which I was referring to is that which thinks and believes that The Lord only died for certain elect individuals in the first Adam...

IMO this would certainly be a valid use of 'special', certainly if these elect ones consider that they are chosen by God unconditionally.

The Lord is calling all men in Adam, and freely justifying every last one in Himself, the second man, and the last Adam.

Romans 5:18 makes this perfectly clear for all to see.

Well yeah, some people do say they have been given special revelation by the Holy Spirit. Usually it doesn't line up with scripture, and is used to support the rationalization of their poor doctrine and lifestyle. But we can not serve two masters. It happens here on the board too. When mature christians call them on it, they usually get mad and leave the forum. That a good thing about the forum. Buy if you write something incorrect...you get called on it.

Most of these types crumble under truth and start the name calling and foolishness. Truth hurts and it's quite hard to make the truth something that it's not.

Right on Edward... Right on!

Do you think and believe that this verse is true today

which verse are you refering to? Please quote the verse................

Scripture is always true... Man is not so........We may not understand it but the word of God is ALWAYS true. "God is true but every man a lier..........Romans 3:4
And also.........."that every mouth be stopped and ALL the world become Guilty before God.: Romans 3:19

Blessings to you from our Great and Mighty God............:tongue

Well yeah, some people do say they have been given special revelation by the Holy Spirit.

Well some HAVE been choosen by him, ..Eph 1:4 and sealed with with the holy spirit of Promise. Eph 1:13 And some have been given an inheritance. And some have been given a REVELATION. "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of Glory, may give unto you(his choosen people) the spirit of wisdom and REVELATION in the knowldge of him. " Eph. 1:17 This is what scriptures say about such things.

Why would someone who has recieved such wonderfull things ever deny them?

We know what the hope of our calling is, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints is. Verse 18 Our God is GREAT and above all things. And all this done before he made the world. verse 4. Spiritual blessings in Heavnly places........Verse 3. And our redemption through his blood according to riches of HIS grace....verse 7 May God bless you as only he can do.
