Hi Kimberly!

I am a single mom, but my children are much older than your child, they are both in college, they do still live with me as it saves everyone money. I wasn't a single mom while they were really young and their dad is heavily involved with their lives. I do not have any other family that lives close, so I do appreciate that he is around and has taken an active role with them.

It's great you have support and help, especially since the father is not on the scene. It is tough to do it alone. One thing I have noticed with single moms, especially with sons, is the lack of male examples in their lives. I think it's very important for the children to have an active, strong male role model.
