That are so realistic you have problems waking up in the morning? When it's time for me to get up, my dreams suck me back in because they're so real to me, I feel like I'm already up and living life. It's really becoming an issue because I end up running 1/2 an our late every single morning. Does anyone else suffer from this? I have to break this somehow :screwloose

Sounds like Lucid dreaming. I have them occasionally, but if they are becoming a problem for you, you might want to see a doctor or a sleep therapist.

wikipedia has a good article on it.

I have them sometimes, had one this morning. But if you are having them everyday, there is a problem.

Yeah, I've always had vivid dreams. I dream almost every night and I can recall almost all of them. But lately they're happening towards the end of my sleep and even though I hear my alarm, I snooze it and go right back into the dream. It's very strange...I either think I'm already awake or the dream is too good to leave.

Just get a really loud alarm clock to show you that the ringing is more real then the dream. I once had this bell alarm clock that was so loud it scared you into waking up. That dang thing always scared me when it rang, lol. But it worked.

Well, I have several alarm clocks but my radio comes on at six and I'm thinking it soothes me back to sleep (its on the classical station) so last night I put the buzzer on and it did shake me up a little. This morning I actually had to talk myself out of going back to sleep...told myself it was time to wake up and my dream wasn't real. Kinda feeling like a nut job... :screwloose

Thanks for the links Lewis, I'll check them out.

I sometimes will incorporate waking up into whatever dream I'm dreaming. A lot of times my hubby wakes me up before he hits the shower and then comes back to still find me in bed. I think, I am sure even, that I'm fully awake and doing whatever it is I'm dreaming about. It's sort of disconcerting to suddenly see Steve looking over me and saying "It's time to get up!" when I'm so sure I'm up anyway. :crazy

One thing I've observed though is that it happens more often when I've gotten to bed really late. If I make it to bed earlier, a lot of times I'll wake up (really wake up) even before the alarm goes off. So, you might try getting to sleep earlier. Easier said than done, I know!

Those were interesting links, Lewis. One of them spoke of sleep paraylsis. Boy, has anyone else dealt with that? It happens to me a lot if I happen to drift off lying on my back, like if I'm in the recliner or on the couch. Scary, and I can understand where a lot of what passes for demon possession or alien abduction can be sleep paralysis.

I do think that most of these problems are caused by not getting enough sleep to begin with. I'm a horribly light sleeper, and very much a night owl, so I know I don't get enough sleep.

I used to have them quite often, but I don't seem to very much now. I hardly remember dreams anymore.

I actually do have sleep paralysis. I've always had super realistic nightmares and woke up screaming up until I moved out on my own. Now I don't really have anyone to protect me so I have to talk myself out of freaking out. But I've seen things in my room, felt things touch me, my hair has been pulled, I've been punched in the stomach, I thought I was up and walking or on my knees screaming but when it's interrupted I'm just there lying on my back. Needless to say, satan like to mess around with me when I'm sleeping. My poor parents had to deal with that for 22 years.

God does make some people very sensitive to spirits, some people use the gift for good and some don't.
