I remember someone from a Christian forum say they were Christian.

Here are lyrics from one of their older songs (lyrics from http://www.whitestripes.net/lyrics/lyrics-wbc.html):

Well any man with a microphone
can tell you what he loves the most
and you know why you love at all
if you're thinking of The Holy Ghost
if you're thinking of The Holy Ghost

*I just had to capitalize The Holy Ghost*

What does everyone think about this band?

I also read a blog where they say how one of the albums are heavy on Christianity.

I believe I read an interview somewhere where Jack White announced his religious preference. I'm pretty sure he's not a Christian.

I believe in an issue of Rolling Stone he and Jimmy Page were interviewed together. I'm pretty sure he made a comment about how he plays "Satan's music"

Jack White himself Said this in an interview, back in 2008:
"I learned later on that music was actually my vocation; that, in fact, spirituality and music are the same thing. Music fulfilled my connection to God in a way that would be unfettered by man’s interpretation and man’s religious ideas. I can become closer to God by understanding the beauty of what I do musically. In this vocation I can vocalize those topics.”

I'd say that it's pretty far from "playing satans music"... As for being Christian? He was raised Catholic and was an alter boy in his early life. Whether he would call himself Christian today, I have no clue.. What I on the other hand know, is that he lives his life recognizing that God is a mystery way lager than we can fathom. And that's quite okay! Hope that helped.

But I'd say that is pretty far from being a Jesus loving Christian too. Lot's of people make claim to a kind of relationship with God (through nature or something like that) but who make no mention of faith and repentance through Jesus.
Don't be fooled. Just throwing God into a conversation doesn't show that one is a born again Christian. Born again people have this peculiar trait of mentioning Jesus and living for him.

The lesson of the fig tree.

Early figs were popular right off the fig tree. The tree had leaves seemingly to promise that it contains fruit hidden amongst the leaves.
It didn't.
Jesus cursed the tree and it died.

Now fig trees became a symbol for Israel. Adam and Eve wore them until God gave them clothing.

So today we can extrapolate the truth that covering yourself with "religion" or "relationship with God" but not having fruits in keeping with repentance is a sure way to die.

I have never been a fan of his, but have heard his songs for a couple decades now. He is primarily secular when it comes to producing music. Whether through his solo work, or with bands like The White Stripes, or the Racenteurs (sp?). Anything I have heard from him would really only fit in the secular side of things. Therefore, I would not assume any of it is really religious in nature.

That being said, I have never seen or read an interview with him where he overtly expressed his faith to the point where any reasonable Christian would consider him to show those fruits.
