Are their Christen against Christens? is this last age What does the word say!
Phil 2:3-5 Doing nothing through envy or through pride, but with low thoughts of self let everyone take others to be better than himself; Not looking everyone to his private good, but keeping in mind the things of others. Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus

Phil 1:15-17 Though some are preaching Christ out of envy and competition, others do it out of a good heart: These do it from love, conscious that I am responsible for the cause of the good news: But those are preaching Christ in a spirit of competition, not from their hearts, but with the purpose of giving me pain in my prison.

2 Cor 1:12 For our glory is in this, in the knowledge which we have that our way of life in the world, and most of all in relation to you, has been holy and true in the eyes of God; not in the wisdom of the flesh, but in the grace of God.

Titus 1:9-10 Keeping to the true word of the teaching, so that he may be able to give comfort by right teaching and overcome the arguments of the doubters. For there are men who are not ruled by law; foolish talkers, false teachers, especially those of the circumcision,
These do it from love, conscious that I am responsible for the cause of the good news: But those are preaching Christ in a spirit of competition, not from their hearts, but with the purpose of giving me pain in my prison.

2 Cor 12:20 For I have a fear that, when I come, you may not be answering to my desire, and that I may not be answering to yours; that there may be fighting, hate, angry feeling, divisions, evil talk about others, secrets, thoughts of pride, outbursts against authority;

Prov 30:11-14 There is a generation who put a curse on their father and do not give a blessing to their mother.
There is a generation who seems themselves to be free from sin but is not washed from their unclean ways.
There is a generation, O how full of pride are their eyes! O how their brows are lifted up! There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, their strong teeth like knives, for the destruction of the poor from the earth, and of those who are in need from among men.

Prov 11:24-26 A man may give freely, and still his wealth will be increased, and another may keep back more than is right, but only comes to be in need.
He who gives a blessing will be made fat, but the curser will himself be cursed.
He who keeps back grain will be cursed by the people, but a blessing will be on the head of him who lets them have it for a price.

1 Cor 11:27-34 If, then, anyone takes the bread or the cup of the Lord in the wrong spirit, he will be responsible for the body and blood of the Lord.
But let no man take of the bread and the cup without testing himself. For a man puts himself in danger, if he takes part in the holy meal without being conscious that it is the Lord's body.
For this cause, a number of you are feeble and ill, and a number are dead.
But if we were true judges of ourselves, the punishment would not come on us. But if punishment does come, it is sent by the Lord, so that we may be safe when the world is judged. So then, my brothers, when you come together to the holy meal of the Lord, let there be waiting for one another. If any man is in need of food, let him take his meal in his house; so that you may not come together to your damage. And the rest I will put in order when I come.

Malachi 3: 16 - 18 Then those in whom was the fear of the Lord had talked together: and the Lord gave ear, and it was recorded in a book to be kept in mind before him, for those who had the fear of the Lord and gave thought to his name. And they will be mine, says the Lord, in the day when I make them my special property; and I will have mercy on them as a man has mercy on his son who is his servant.
Then you will again see how the upright man is different from the sinner, and the servant of God from him who is not.

1Tim 3:1-7 This is a true saying, A man desiring the position of a Bishop has a desire for good work.
The Bishop, then, is to be a man of good name, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, serious-minded, having respect for order, opening his house freely to guests, a ready teacher; Not quickly moved to wrath or blows, but gentle; no fighter, no lover of money; Ruling his house well, having his children under control with all serious behavior; (For if a man has not the art of ruling his house, how will he take care of the church of God?) Not one newly taken into the church, for fear that, through his high opinion of himself, he may come into the same sin as the Evil One.
And he is to have a good name among those outside the church so that nothing may be said against him and he may not be taken by the designs of the Evil One.

Did you mean Christian against Christian as being divided against each other?

Greeting
yes, understand that Satan divided Christians, and I have also witnessed this in the Church and outside the Church as well, unfortunately, it is all most like our government
but unaware

Mark 3:24-25 And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

OK, that makes more sense, TY

Christians can be divided by that of what and how they are taught from the pulpit, meaning those who teach them. It's like the church of Pergamos in Rev 2:8-17 that hold the doctrine of Balaam and the doctrine of Nicolaitanes and the church of Thyatira in Rev 2:18-29 as they allowed the spirit of Jezebel sneak in and seduce them into believing false doctrines. No Christian is without excuse for what they learn from others as in 1 John 4:1-6 we have been taught how to Spiritually discern what spirit is teaching us as one is error and the other truth.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

If what one speaks does not line up with scripture then they are teaching the doctrines of man and not the doctrines of Christ as they have allowed themselves to be deceived by the false prophets that are out in the world. Now, how can we know if what others are teaching us is truth is by knowing what is truth. This comes by studying the word as the Holy Spirit will teach you all truths.

1 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness

Satan does not need a pulpit, he transforms themselves into ministers of the word into righteousness Spiritual Intoxication overfilled can even be on a forum.
Forum are just like a pulpit as well.

themselves, men into ministers
Jezebel seduce as well ministers of righteousness

A Lion is a vigilant hunter, its hunt its Prey silently, and after devouring its Prey a Lion roaring victory

2 Corinthians 11:14-15 And no wonder! Satan, himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Angel or angels of light as a man or men

Ephesians 5:1-18-21
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit;

Spiritual Intoxication drunkenness

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Sorry, I should have meant to say not only literal pulpits, but any platform Satan will use as even in Christian forums you will find false prophets. I was just comparing the two churches in Rev to the worldly churches that are led by the spirit of error.

please it's ok, it's like he or she is without any mistakes, let him or her saying I never made a mistake in my life, and I have made many :blush
but yes to your answer churches that are led by the spirit of error indeed :cross

Allow me to share the Scripture God placed on me just today: Galatians 1:1-10. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=galatians+1:1-10&version=NIV

Here is my paraphrase. Galatians 1:1-10, the 1Pet2_9 version:
"Greetings from Paul, an Apostle. Hello! Hi! Hi everybody! All my buds here in Antioch say hi. How are you doing? Hey! Love you all!

WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING??!??? Are you out of your minds????? You just accepted the Gospel, and now you're leaving it! Apparently, some people in the church are preaching you a false gospel, and you are buying it. Huh? As far as I'm concerned, those guys can go to hail! I say it again, they can go ta hail!

You guys probably don't like me now."

Anyway, I don't claim my version to be inerrant. Just more colorful. Feel free to compare the different translations. But yes, Christians against Christians. And at least according to Scripture, it can be warranted, at least sometimes.

Hi and welcome to CF.

Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Paul would not tell anyone to go to hell and neither should we tell someone that. What Paul is saying here is that if anyone preach any other gospel other than the Gospel of Christ he will bring upon himself damnation as God will judge them in the end. God does not bring damnation on anyone as they do this themselves.

BTW, we still like you :)

Fair enough.

And welcome to the Forum.

Clarification. Here's the Good News Version:

Galatians 1
9 We have said it before, and now I say it again: if anyone preaches to you a gospel that is different from the one you accepted, may he be condemned to hell!

Not intending to split word hairs--just trying to clarify where I was coming from. The difference/lack thereof between "go to hell" and "may he be condemned to hell" seems a worthy discussion topic, however. Especially in the context of HOW Christians should and/or do go against other Christians.

Thank you for showing that verse in the Good News Bible as it clarifies what you said. I wrote the below about a year before I found CF and even when I first came in here it was the same, but now it's so much better in here now since we are trying our best to bring unity of love within the discussions. Sorry about the length.

1 Peter 4:7 but the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 and above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 10 as every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

“Ding! Ding! Round One”. This is what you hear when two fighters get into the ring to face off in a battle of who is the superior one. Unfortunately this is what is happening between Gods children as Christians are squaring off as trying to be the superior one in the word of God, but yet should ever be learning, 2Timothy 3:7. Love and humbleness is now being replaced with anger and hostility towards each other as many love to argue and debate the word of God according to what they believe and choose to condemn those who are not in agreement with them.

The best example of this is taking place in Christian chat rooms on the internet. I use to go into Christian chat rooms, but it has gotten so bad with all the arguing and name calling as the word of God is debated in anger. Satan is pinning Christian against Christian because they are allowing themselves to get into the flesh and the flesh is where Satan attacks us when we are separated from the Holy Spirit as flesh and Spirit can not mix as the flesh is a hostile enemy against the Spirit of God, Romans 8:1-8.

I have been sworn at by other Christians, called a blasphemer and that I was of my father the devil for what I tried to teach in these rooms. I’m not characterizing all Christian chat sites because I have not been in all of them, but have been in several over the years. I still go in once in awhile as I am led by the Holy Spirit to do so and one thing I do express when I go in is that I tell people please do not believe a word I or anyone else says unless we back ourselves up with scripture so others can read and study for themselves through the Holy Spirit so they can discern what is being said or taught to be truth or error.

We as a Christian have all been given the same gifts from God and those gifts are to be used to lift up and edify one another. The greatest gift of all is the gift of love that we should be displaying as a Christian to help draw all others unto Christ by allowing the love of Christ shine through us. Many people say they have accepted Christ, but by the fruits of their mouth God will judge their heart and condemn those who have only mirrored the words of repentance as they condemn themselves by what comes out of their mouths, Matthew 7:21.

We are instructed in Ephesians 5:1-12 to avoid foolishness and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove or rebuke them instead. We are not little children anymore, but are to be mature adults especially if we are calling ourselves a Christian as we mature in the word of God and display Christ in us and through us. When I was a child I use to get into many fights with those who opposed me or my family, but then I grew up to have compassion towards my enemies as I drew closer to the Lord and he taught me how to pray for my enemies.

I never knew how cruel Christians could be towards each other until I started going to church and heard the backbiting and gossip that would come out of some of their mouths, including the Pastors mouth also. I was devastated by the words they spoke and the condemnation they put on other Christians. This is why so many refuse to accept Jesus and even set foot in a church because they judge the whole church or the body of Christ by those hypocrites that look good on the outside, but are full of dead mans bones, Matthew 23: 13-33.

It’s not this evil world or even the ruler of darkness that we need to be concerned about as this world will wax worse and worse, but we need to be concerned about how we are representing Christ to the world. There is an old saying that goes something like this that you can catch more flies with honey then you can with vinegar and if we want to draw those lost souls to the honey, or to the love of Christ, then we must display Christ in us and through us by allowing the love of Christ shine out to others, 2Corinthians 4:4; 1John 1:7.

Galatians 5:22 but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 and they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit let us also walk in the Spirit.

As a Christian examine yourself to see if you are truly walking in the fruits of the Spirit as everyday when we awake we need to start our day by crucifying our flesh and put on the full armor of God to stand against the evilness that calls itself a Christian, but is only a wolf in sheep’s clothing seeking whom they can devour, 1Peter 5:8.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 for God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Therefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Sounds like THIS chat site has a history to it. Or at least, I see that a lot of topics have been banned. I think that is something going on in the Church, and not so much on the chat sites. People from the Church go to join the chat sites.

I've been coming in here since 2011 and have seen pretty much everything of where it was and where the new Administrators and Moderators have worked hard to make this a worthy site that brings glory to the Lord. Just like all of us as we are not perfect and have our flaws, but we let God perfect us daily as we try to be faithful servants.

The only ones we need to blame is those who have allowed the spirit of error teach them as the church has become a socially politically correct church with a feel good message that doesn't want to step on anyone's toes. I call it "fluff and stuff". I'm not saying all churches, but there are many. All we can do is make sure what we teach lines up with scripture as the Holy Spirit teaches us as each one of us will give an account for what we have taught others, Romans 14:1-14.

I found another go-to-hell verse:

Acts 8 [Good News Translation]
18 Simon saw that the Spirit had been given to the believers when the apostles placed their hands on them. So he offered money to Peter and John, 19 and said, “Give this power to me too, so that anyone I place my hands on will receive the Holy Spirit.”

20 But Peter answered him, “May you and your money go to hell, for thinking that you can buy God's gift with money! 21 You have no part or share in our work, because your heart is not right in God's sight. 22 Repent, then, of this evil plan of yours, and pray to the Lord that he will forgive you for thinking such a thing as this. 23 For I see that you are full of bitter envy and are a prisoner of sin.”

24 Simon said to Peter and John, “Please pray to the Lord for me, so that none of these things you spoke of will happen to me.”

Very confusing. Peter makes it personal: may YOU and your money go to hell. He says this to a NEW Christian--just been baptized. Simon immediately repents. He asks Peter and John to intercede for him--because Simon can't pray for himself, or only because he thinks he can't?

Seems harsh. Was Peter--an imperfect person--too harsh? Doesn't telling your Christian brother--including a new one--to go to hell endanger you of being brought before the Council...in danger of the fire of hell...all that? (Matthew 5:22) Or did Peter do the right thing, as evidenced by the end result?

Definitely not a rhetorical question. I genuinely don't know. It seems a difficult one. And when we talk about proper protocol for Christian-versus-Christian, telling a new brother to go to hell would definitely seem inappropriate, in my book. But maybe I'm wrong? And yes, of course Simon attempting to buy Peter's gift of "magic" is wrong. And/or Simon just doesn't get it. It's not like Peter never had you-just-don't-get-it moments, too.

I really do not see it as Peter being personal in telling Simon to go to hell, but telling him he will if he doesn't repent and ask God to forgive his wickedness.

KJV Acts 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. 22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

In the context of these verses Peter is telling Simon that his heart is not right in the sight of God because he thought he could buy this gift of the Holy Spirit. Peter doesn't tell him to go to hell, but tells him his money will perish with him when he dies and because of the wickedness of his heart he is told to repent and pray to God so he can be forgiven and not cast into the lake of fire.

As a Christian none of us should ever tell anyone to go to hell, but teach them that of God's plan of salvation through Christ Jesus so they can repent and come to Christ so they can have eternal life with Him.

Some people looked at the Greek.

The literal Greek does seem to say he and his money can go to perdition. Meyer's commentary says that it is personal. Other commentators (and I think we all agree) that Peter is not wishing hell on Simon--only that he is saying that his line of thought will lead him there if he continues down that path. And that Peter is strongly rejecting his proposal.

MHO, it lends some insight into the proper rules of engagement.

Exactly, it's like Peter telling Simon if you do not repent of your wicked ways and seek God and ask for forgiveness then you are making your own choice of being damned in God's judgement against you.
