There are times when we receive so much meat from the word of God that we try and feed this meat to those who are barely on milk and all this does is leave those who we are trying to teach become lost and confused as to what we are talking about. Frustration and confusion may cause one to give up and never seek the truth of the word of God because they do not understand and need to be taught simple basics of Salvation.

Salvation means to be whole mind, body and soul as we surrender our will to God and allow his will to work in our lives by applying Gods word to every aspect of our lives. This allows us to know the mind of Christ and all the promises of God for our own well being so we can face anything that tries to come against us while here on this earth so we can triumph and be victorious through the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Grace pardons us and mercy loves us unconditionally.

Jesus was teaching Nicodemus in John 3:1-7 that it was a Spiritual rebirth or renewal of our spirit that through Gods spoken word we can reconcile our past sins through repentance to be made sinless again before God. We are all born with a sin nature because of sin being introduced into the world through Satan’s deceit when he told Eve it was alright to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil even though God forbid them to eat of it.

Our flesh will always sin because that is our nature and God can not see our flesh because of our sins nor can he hear the prayers of a sinner, John 9:31, and this is why we need to renew our Spiritual inner man because sin separates us from God as God is spirit, not flesh and blood, and can only recognize his own children by what spirit is living in their hearts. We have to renew, rebirth - born again, Gods Spirit within us in order to be called a child of God and see the kingdom of heaven. We now put off the old man (flesh) and put on the new man (Spirit). We are renewed by the word of God and through the Holy Spirit teaching us of all things, Romans 8:6, 8.

The basics we need to learn are written in Colossians 3:1-17 and if we follow these guidelines then we will remain in the will of God. The best place to start for learning and understanding Gods Salvation is reading the book of John to learn who Jesus was and is in our own lives and to know anyone can come unto Gods Salvation no matter who you are or what you have done God loves us all unconditionally.

We now have an intercessor (Jesus) who sits at the right hand of the Father and hears our confession that we are sinners and need his salvation as we believe in our heart that he was truly sent from God as the living word that we can indeed become righteous again not of our own righteousness, but that righteousness that is God whom through his Spirit is promised to dwell in us. All we have to do is believe and confess that we are sinners and allow Gods righteousness to cleanse us and renew our spirit man, John 3:5-7. Jesus wants us to come as we are and allow him to make the changes that need made in our hearts. People want to clean the fish before they catch them, but Jesus says come as you are I will clean you from the inside out.

I do my best when I teach folks to back up and get the Basics of Our Faith right before returning to the forward training. I also meet the greatest resistance in this same teaching. The Basics erase so much heresy that it builds great fear in the False Believers.

When I was, barely, two years in the Faith, YHWH, known to me, only as God, called me to teach. At the same time He called my wife to return to teaching Primaries and to take me with her.

We resisted, what business has a forty-five year old man in a class for six, seven and eight year olds? That Sunday Morning, Richard Clarke, our young Pastor asked if the LORD had been troubling me about teaching?

I answered some thing to the effect of yeah, but I am only two years in the faith and could not qualify to teach anything but Salvation. Our Primaries Teacher, well into her eighties, had just informed him she wanted to move from the classroom into the Assembly to Worship and that YHWH had been moving him to place me and my wife, as Team Teachers in that class.

One should nevewr doubt Y7HWH's ability to use small humans to teach older humans as the older seak to teach them. Young People ask some tough questions. It is alright if you do not know the answer that week, as long as you had it for them the next or even the second week later.

It forced me and my Deacon's Daughter Wife to study, grounding me in the Faith and deepening her grounding. I am not at all sure that the Primaries Curriculum should not be the only curriculum taught in the New Christians Class.

There might just be fewer ungrounded, old, Baby Christians in the pews and or walking out the door.

God doesn't want our ability to teach as even a babe in Christ that is still on the milk has the ability to teach what they have leaned so far as they teach in simplicity. What God wants is our availability so when He calls us to teach we will say, "Yes Lord". The more we study the more we grow and also to help others grow in faith.

Back to basics is very close to my heart. How better to get to know God and realise the love He has for every person. The beautiful promises He has given us. The guidelines on how to live and the tremendous suffering and love Jesus Christ, the Son of God went through and holds for us. He fills your heart with sorrow for your sins and joy in His love. Refreshes in basics is what we all need.

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

We have to remember the word of God is not gloom or doom, but good news that brings so much peace and joy to our hearts as we reflect on the goodness and the glory of the Lord.

What a great topic Sister. I have one Brother left. He is my older brother and he has been saved and baptized, but he almost refuses to read the word. And at first when I moved back here, he didn't like it when I "preached" to him. He said so. But I have prayed for him and continued to talk to him and even got him to watch a very few videos of Pastors speaking the word.

How can I encourage him to press in? He says he can't read the bible because he doesn't understand it. I know that it is a hard thing for man to understand. But I also know that when one does, and tries...that the Holy Spirit gives us understanding of what we read. I have tried to tell him this, that it will get easier, but he is very resistant to it. I think that he thinks he is not a good reader and may be feeling...embarrassed to read the word with his little brother because I am better at reading than he is? I think that's it.

I've heard testimonies on YouTube about a man who could not read. But the Lord saved him in an incident and he realized it and became saved, then began trying to read the word...and he did. He learned to read from reading the Bible. It is the only book he reads now! (What a testimony!)

Any suggestions on how I might be able to encourage my brother? I don't want to press him too hard and maybe sour him on it all together. So I don't pressure him at all. What I do do, is to share everything that the Lord does for me with him.

My husband doesn't read or spell very well, but has gotten better at it through the last 20 years we have been together. I would love it if he would pick up his Bible and read it every day like he use to, but I can't make him do that as that is something you can not force one to do. The important thing like your brother is that he is a Spiritually born again child of God and that is the important part.

Since your brother has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and has tried to read the Bible, but hindered by his lack of being able to read very well I wouldn't worry about it as he has the basics. As long as you feed him the word in small doses he is hearing it and I'm sure is learning at his own pace. Maybe you could get him a Bible on a CD and see if that will help him. That way he doesn't have to be embarrassed around you and the two of you can share with each other. Some people are diggers in the word and others not so much and there is nothing wrong with that.

Praise the Lord he has a loving caring brother like you.

I guess so. But I like talking about God, and it's like he doesn't so much. Sometimes. I prolly talk too much, lol.. I try to talk to my neighbor too and he usually says, I dont want to hear no God stuff right now...One time I told him, well I do and if you come over here you will prolly hear about God. That's just me, man.

That is a shining example, God Bless you.

Our being exuberant could be another's downfall if we push them away. I always let an opportunity to present itself then I ease into it for at least we are planting seeds and who knows that another will water those seeds.

John 4:44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country. (Matthew 13:54-58)

For me that is such a red flag. One of my Biker Associates and one of my four children understand what they read in the scriptures and how to apply it's teachings to their lives. My wife, having grown up in a totally submitted Deacon's Home was teethed on submission to YHWH and together we serve as our LORD. {typo}

I have taught a number of new Christians, Babes in the Christ, and found very few of them willing to, fully, submit their very existence to out LORD, a condition worthy of intense prayer for YHWH and Yashuah ha'Mashiah's intervention through Ruah, the Holy Spirit of our Triune Elohim.

I do not profess expertise in such matters but, rather, lean on Prayer, Ruah and the growth of Good Fruit as opposed to useless fruit that is recognized, through listening and watching what Ruah will show the Faithful.

How to encourage? Your very best tool is Prayer and coming in in second place to that is how you Walk. "No," not like a 30" Military Step but then again, it is much the same in some manor.

When a soldier, marine, sailor or air man, ranging anywhere from 5'3 1/2" through 6'6" or so learns to take no more and no less than a 30" Regulation Step, order is held and injuries prevented.

When a follower of Yashuah learns to submit to their Elohim, much the same as submitting to the Drill Sergeant, Babes in the Faith, who will be watching all of old timers, will not perceive any given error as being the Way of YHWH and thus be Siritually Injured.

My guess is the LORD is calling you to witness at a greater level... in speech and action.

I really can't see every situation being a red flag because there are many that have a hard time comprehending what they are trying to read, especially if they are not good at reading like my husband. He gets frustrated because he can't read very well or spell very well, but through the years has gotten a little better. All we know is what Edward said about his brother not understanding what he is reading, but at least he has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and that is the basic part.
