I don't know about everyone else but I love Balto, not just the 1995 animated movie, but the real story of Balto himself. I have mentioned before that I was in Girl Scouts as a child and I went to go see Balto's stuffed body at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. I figured that I would create a thread for other fans of Balto and his great legacy. :) I have also enclosed another famous wonder dog, the story of Hachi. This story proves the lengths of a dog's loyalty.

I was completely overly obsessed with dogs growing up, so I know about both of these and I love them. For Christmas this year one of my books was about Hachiko.

Cool! :cool I just watched the movie Hachi today and although I love that movie, it always makes me cry. It's so sad! :crying Going to watch Baltimore later on. "Let me tell you something Balto, a dog cannot make this journey alone,... but maybe a wolf can." Got to love Boris, that line always gives me goosebumps. Oh and here is my favorite scene in the movie! You know, Balto is voiced by the same person who played Ren in the movie Footloose. I LOVE that movie!

Leave it to a husky, a Siberian one at that. I had one and know that attitude.

I forgot that I saw your comment on here. I had one myself too once. He also had a bit of German Shepard in him. He chewed up and destroyed everything as a puppy.

Mine was an escape artist and lived for the cold.she would sleep in the snow

Mine was exactly the same way, guess that part is just bred into them. By the way, I just so happen to be watching Balto as we speak. :lol I personally think that Huskies are beautiful and I love seeing them run! Another favorite movie of mine with them in it is Snow Dogs.

Oh, I remember her. She was pretty big on YouTube, I just didn't remember her name. My Husky mix was named JT. We are such baseball fans here that we need him after Jim Thome. :wink I do believe he's retired now though. Although JT was a little destructive as a puppy, his cage training helped him when he got older. He was only put in there when he was bad, but we would find he had gone back there by himself sometimes since that was like his bed. I will always miss him and love him and I know for a fact that he loved us. It was like I was telling my mom today, a dog's love for a human is unconditional. I guess that's why it's called a dog in the first place. Man's best friend is really God spelled backwards. :halo

I miss having a dog too. Haven't seen Balto before or Hachi. Dogs are very loyal and intelligent. They respond to love amazingly.

Have you heard of those dogs before though? Greyfriar's Bobby is another famous canine who slept on the grave of his master every night. (Sorry the first video is more like a clip than a trailer, but they're the exact same story but the second video is the remake.)
