May I add ...
WHEN the Spirit baptizes us into Christ --- the Holy Spirit comes INSIDE.
WHEN Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit --- the Holy Spirit comes UPON.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:4

But we don't all speak in other tongues.
I'm told this means those persons are not filled with the Holy Spirit...of which I'm one.

There should be a study on the different baptisms...

I believe the best way of study is by a one on one.
No. I can't agree. It would be two persons arguing about something.
I like to hear different opinions...
I call them opinions because in the end, we should be listening to those that know MUCH MORE than we do.

I don't want opinions. Opinions are what divide. Ask me any questions on the PM and I will back it with scripture.

I don't understand bb, WHY should I ask YOU questions?
Are you a theologian? I'm being sincere here, not sarcastic.

These forums are created so we could talk to each other and communicate things about God. Personally, I'm here because I have no one to speak to here where I live about these things. Plenty of Catholics around...they're OK, but too much talk about the church instead of about the bible.

If you and I speak by PM, everyone else will be deprived of the conversation.

BTW, I could list plenty of scripture too...just because you can back up what you say means nothing to me. The bible is a complete thought,,,not a series of verses.

I'm here when you're ready to go....

Here’s a question for you -

Are their any scriptures that teach us that baptisms are no longer required.

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-5

Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,
1 Corinthians 10:1-2

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Hebrews 6:1-2

I'll answer your one question. I'm sure you agree that John's baptism is no longer valid. Scripture does not explicitly so state but when we "rightly divide" the scripture (as Paul told Timothy we must do) it becomes clear that John's baptism is no longer valid.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not valid today. In the PM you and I had I proved that (among other things) and you have had NO scriptural response. If you think you now have scriptural proof return to our PM and answer it.

I answered JLB but hit the wrong key and the answer is tacked onto his last post.
