If it isn't newsworthy anymore than how do you know about it? I've never heard about it before for the record.

HIR,

It's newsworthy and published in some magazines, newspapers and online, but it doesn't get the headline like Trump vs Putin, the riots in the streets of Paris, the Australian Royal Commission into banks.

See my post #60 for examples.

I just did and it's completely ridiculous. That old guy with gray hair is the one who would even pass for Jesus,.. (although I'm pretty sure He isn't Him) the other ones don't even look anything like Him! :rolleyes

These ones. Matthew 12:46-50 Although I get what it's saying I interpreted it to mean that Mary really wasn't His mother to Him and His brothers weren't His brothers.

HIR,

Matt 12:46-50 (NIV) states:
46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”

48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

We know Mary was his mother from a number of Scriptures, starting with his birth. His brothers were his half-brothers. Mary and his brothers are named in Matt 13:55 as James, Joseph, Simon and Judas = Jude (not Iscariot). Verse 56 (NIV) asks: 'Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?'

Mark 6:3 names the brothers but not the sisters. We don't know how many sisters he had or their names.

Yet, the RCC and some early Protestants (e.g. Luther, Calvin, John Wesley, etc) believed in the perpetual virginity of Mary. See my article: Perpetual virginity of Mary promoted by false document

HIR,

Jesus warned that this would happen: 'Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many' (Matt 24:4-5 NIV).

We are seeing fulfillment of Jesus' warning before our eyes.

Didn't Jesus also tell the cured man not to tell anyone because it wasn't Jesus' time yet and He knew this would get Him into trouble with the ruling powers...the Sanhedrin.

Later on in His ministry Jesus did tell a cured person to go and tell his Rabbi.

I seem to remember that timing had a lot to do with this.
He had to finish His ministry.
At the Wedding at Cana Jesus said His time had not come yet.
His time to go to the cross....
We talked about this on Sunday in our adult Bible study when we were discussing Luke chapter 4. One of the reasons for Jesus telling them not to say anything was because He had a different purpose than what the people wanted. They wanted Him to continue doing what He was doing, i.e., healing the sick and casting out demons. They also looked forward to a Messiah but their idea of what a Messiah was and would do was entirely different from reality. Their idea was a worldly leader that would lead them out of the power of the Romans. Jesus' purpose was somewhat different, "Preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” Luke 4:43 NKJV

Jesus' purpose was for Spiritual renewal and salvation, not worldly.

I absolutely agree.
Jesus spoke more about the Kingdom (here, spiritually) than He did salvation.

My point was that He needed more time to do this. He knew He would have little time...and did not want to accelerate His time to the crucifixion. Which would have happened if the Sanhedrin became angry with Him too soon.

It also seemed that He had some supernatural ability to escape prior to when it was His time. Also in Luke 4:28-30, we can read about how those in the synagogue were filled with wrath and tried to kill Him by pushing Him off a cliff but He just simply passed through the midst of them. So the mob could push Him from the synagogue, through the city to the edge of a cliff but had not the ability to finish the job and He just simply passed through their midst.

There is more than one occasion where something similar happened where the mobs tried to kill him and were unable because He just passed through their midst or something like that.

He was in total control of when they would finally be able to arrest and execute Him.

Yes. I used to like to tell the kids I was teaching how Jesus had supernatural powers. They're all into superheroes these days ... but we do have to be careful not to compare Jesus to Superman (fine line).

This also happened when He was preparing for the Passover and told the Apostles to go and get the donkey and to prepare a room. Jesus knew beforehand exactly to whom they should go and what to say and that the owner of the donkey would give his permission.
Luke 19:28.....
