Called from the Desert Ministries are dedicated to bringing revival, maturity, and vision back to the Body of Christ. Our greatest purpose is to show you how to have purpose in your life. We do that by inspiring people to fall in love with God’s word and getting them excited about studying His word again. We were called into this. We love to study God’s word and we are looking for others who feel the same way we do.

What is your calling? Why did the Lord put you here? Why did He save you? Those are all questions that we intend to help you answer. Do you feel like you have more that you need and want to do for the Lord, but you are being held back? Perhaps it is a financial issue or the church you attend isn’t allowing you to serve in the capacity that you feel lead to serve. Maybe you don’t know what the Lord has really called you to do and you would like to explore that issue.

What we love to do is to help you find where God is calling you and where you fit into His plan. We like to start with educating people on issues that they will probably never be educated on in their churches. We deal with issues like finances, health, and relationships. Then, when you are ready, we will get into the heart of the issue. Why are you here?

Thanks, I have been out of town for a few days. My mom turned 90 so I had to celebrate!! But, I'm back. Glad to be with you also.

Hi Aparajita - I appreciate the thought, but my studies do not usually include Biblical prophecy.

I have been praying about finding my purpose for quite some time now... I'm looking for leads if you have any. I went up for prayer at my church a few months back and God told me through someone else He has big plans for me. I know it was Him. He promised me things I'd asked for that this person could have no idea about. I had never talked to this individual before. Let alone told her the things I asked Him that He answered through her. I feel like I'm whittling my life away. Very empty. I have to find my purpose. Or rather His purpose for me.

Are you a preacher?

Getting in touch with God's PURPOSE for our life can have the single most powerful impact on our own life after coming to Jesus and being born again. All Christians are called to be witnesses, but we also have a CALLING in Christ that is more specific than that.

The main factors that will lead to a revelation of our earthly DESTINY and being prepared for it are the following:

A. Resolving to do the Lord's will as the chief pursuit of our lives.

1. All Christians are called to be "soldiers of the Cross". All soldiers know that they can be called upon to pay the ultimate price for their cause. For this reason, the soldiers of the Cross are called to take up their crosses and commit to die daily to their own interests in order to serve the interests of Christ:

"If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his Cross daily, and follow Me." (Luke 9:23).

"For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it." (Luke 9:23,24)

"You, therefore, must suffer hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus." (2 Timothy 2:3)

"No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier." (2 Timothy 2:4)

"And he died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf." (2 Corinthians 5:15)

B. Beholding the glory of the Lord.

C. Finding and becoming a committed part of the body of Believers we are called to be with.

D. Receiving the ministry of the five equipping ministries listed in Ephesians chapter 4.

E. Being discipled by someone other than the pastor.
1. Regular one-on-one meetings
2. Keeps us focused on the prize and off of the many opportunities in the Church and elsewhere that will take us away from what God has called us to do -- our DESTINY.
3. Receiving weekly assignments will help us grow in knowledge and understanding that will eventually equip us to disciple others and move to higher spiritual attainments.

F. Engaging our CALLING in Christ.

QUESTIONS TO ASK MYSELF:

1. Am I totally sold out to the Lord Jesus Christ?

2. Am I willing to aggressively pursue the services of someone in the Body of Christ to disciple me in my Christian walk?

3. Name 3 reasons why I need someone to disciple me in addition to my participation in church services, Sunday school, bible study classes, Christ encounters etc.

What is your calling? Why did the Lord put you here? Why did He save you? Those are all questions that we intend to help you answer

The Lord has me in a couple of different ministries. One is a prayer ministry where one of the things I do is read and pray over prayer requests put on cards. And so often I see where people want the questions in the quotes answered. That is what's on the prayer cards.

So a ministry that can answer those questions sounds like a great thing..... but can the ministry really answer them? Doesn't the person need to get the Lord to answer them? I usually pray for their ears to be open to the voice of the Lord. That is how I get those questions answered for me. I listen to the Lord and what He wants to tell me, and if I have any questions about it, I ask Him and listen to Him so more.

I mean - what I write the Lord has me in a ministry, I mean He told me that He was going to put me in it and He did what He said. Specifically, about that particular prayer ministry, I was sitting in church looking at the bulletin when the Lord said, "Look at that ministry Karl. I am going to put you in it." He told me what pastor was going to be leading it, and I told Him that no way was that pastor going to lead it, because he was not responsible for it. I was wrong, He was right again. A couple of months later that pastor announces that he was leading it and I was there handy when he was looking for people to work it. God had known, He had told me, and He had set it all up.

I have done many things for the Lord, and it has always worked the same way. So yeah, I sometime have questions like: What is my calling? Why did the Lord put me here? Why did He save me,, of all people? But never are they answered by people, they are always answer by my Lord. So if I am going to help people get those questions answered, my help is always going to be leading the to Jesus Christ and praying that they will have their ears opened to His voice. That in a nut shell is my ministry. To lead people to Jesus Christ and do what I can to get people listening by faith to what the Spirit has to tell them. I often do it through prayer, because prayer seems to accomplish things like that. But I will gladly tell people straight up that our Lord has the answers, or like the Father said about His Son. "This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased. LISTEN TO HIM."

THAT IS HOW YOU GET THOSE QUESTIONS ANSWERED.

Your letter sounds very professional, and straight to the point.

You asked a lot of good questions that people should be interested in finding an answer to (if they haven't done so already). Like with all teachers, it is good for the student to understand more about the teacher, because it will be a good indication on what they want to teach people.

I am not suggesting personal details, rather words that express who the person is (pertaining to the scriptures of course).

Now my question to you is: What are the answers to the questions you asked for 'yourself' personally?

Glad to have you on the forum!

In peace

All Christians are called to be witnesses, but we also have a CALLING in Christ that is more specific than that.

Really, sounds like the posters think there should be more Chiefs then indians.

Read the bible again.
How many people in Israel were prophets, priests or Kings?
Compare the numbers of these with the numbers of the ordinary Israelite?

What is our calling? To serve God where ever we are.
Here is a better question. By your lifestyle and conversation would someone who does not know you recognise you as a Christian?
How different are you from your nonchristian collegues/neighbours?
