I currently have Norton Firewall 2005 installed on my computer. I am running Microsoft XP Office. However, when Firewall is enabled, it will not load up my homepage. How can I run both Internet Explorer and Firewall at the same time?

Thanks

This is because your settings for the Firewall permissions are set wrong. Change your permissions in the Norton controls.

Can Norton's firewall and use Zone Alarm from http://www.zonelabs.com The basic version is free but I opted for Pro after using it for a while. I like it very much. Zone Alarm is now owned by Checkpoint, a leader in firewall software (Firewall-1) for some time now.

He can use Zone Alarm or OutPost free versions, OutPost's permissions are harder to set. Or he can just set the permissions in his Norton Firewall. And the problem will go away.

Nope. Sorry. All my controls seem to be on the up and up. Even with my security level down and traffic being allowed, it still won't let me get in. I have to rely on the Windows firewall instead.

Any other suggestions?

Definately a much better browser to use lol.

Try disabling norton and seeing if you can use IE if it is disabled. If not, you may have an issue with IE, or of course, you can always re-install norton.
