This ignores govt owned utilities, more meters, especially commercial ones more money.way more, use 1000kwh of 240,480 and that's low btw but it won't be no hundred bucks.

Just saying how generalized this is.I have seen routes split into chunks because of the size ,in preparation for growth.I had two of these .one being a water meter only route.

yeah
that's not what the post is about

I have seen that stating about government in the u.s.

Notice the tiny flag on the right ?

We are still despite the problems a federal republic, though barely.
It's about the difference between the attitudes of a business owner who depends on customers for his livelihood and a government employee to whom more customers only mean more work for him but no direct benefit. He makes the same wage if one customer comes in or if one hundred customers come in.

In socialism, there is no incentive to do more work because you will not get an increased benefit form doing more. In capitalism, you can have your own business and, the more you do, the more you make.

As they used to say in Russia, "We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us."

I fully understand that.

That attitude woukdnt be tolerated where I work.we axed 30 year enployees despite the union.right to work state.

To quote Tom

[QUOTE ] I pay you to work 8,I know you get done early and bs in your trucks at the storage yard, but dont think you won't be replaced if you won't work [\QUOTE ]

The context to that snippet was the kids not leaving the water meter lids on the box,and possibly giving the water director a reason to switch to smart metering. They also werent trimming ,digging up meters to read them easier and weren't also trying to locate the ones so easily .ie skipped inside when you can call another ,read with binos, meters covered by brush to where one couldn't see them and it was a nuisance to get the read. Yet they had 2 hours two sit

All of which didn't apply to me nor the more seasoned readers.I will if time allows as we are short dig up ,trim meters,I always try to get any read that I miss.
