This seems borrowed from Immanuel Velikovsky's Worlds in Collision. Entertaining read. But impossible to reconcile with physics or astronomy.

Russia claims the fluid deep down is oil, possibly created by the earth itself, just waiting for whoever drills it first, accessible from anywhere. They have some supporting evidence for this notion, too:

1. What they bring up from the depths is chemically different from what US methods yield;

2. In the wake of US declaring certain areas devoid of resources, Russians have drilled deep to yield the same type of oil they do elsewhere.

This doesn't mean all their ideas are correct, but it does prove US ideas don't have all pertinent information.

So what do we conclude from this?

I remember when Darwinism was forbidden in the old Soviet Union, and the Russians said you could make wheat grow where you wanted, just by forcing it to do so. They had lots of "evidence" that didn't match what western scientists had.

Guess how that turned out?

If Putin changed things, he didn't change them very much.

If the Russians are right, it would be a wonderful thing. But from the times when it actually makes its way to the surface, that liquid deep in the Earth has turned out to be melted rock.
