Ok folks - Here is the challenge:
Folks keep refererring to Revelation for doctrine today or could saints take mark, etc.

OK - show me where you can find a saint in the body of Christ, blood-bought, regenerated, sealed, believer in this age in the book of Revelation.

God bless

Not sure I completely understand what you are looking for. Are you talking about people applying the seven Churches to 7 ages of Church history (a popular theory) or are you questioning whether it is relvant for the Church today? Even if it is only a historical account the thological doctrine represented therein concerning the Churches most certainly can be applied to doctrine just as the Old Testament can be applied to doctrine. Another interesting detail that is not often noticed is that when Jesus spoke to all seven churches the first words out of his mouth are "I know your works". Makes you think doesn't it? Our works are important because they represent the state of our heart and evidence true salvation. Just a little note there.

I'd like to see it too. But I'm still a little confused on that AV was asking.

P.S. AV did you ever get to read that thread of mine that I PM'd you about?

Shot in the dark, just until the question becomes clearer.

AVB, is this what you are looking for?

Rev 7:9 ¶ After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands....

Ii thought I was clear - Some people believe the church is going through the tribulation.

All I'm saying is the body of Christ or a church age saint today in the book of Revelation. I find Gentiles and Israel in Revelation but no church age saint.

Show me evidence where the church (not Jewish churches) is in Revelation.

Show me Pauline truths in Revelation. You can find Israel and a strong Jewsih 'flavor" but how Pauline, body of Christ truths?

Folks can't you see that Revelation is just an extension of the OT with revealed details? :o The body of Christ was not in the OT so therefore it is nowhere in the book of Revelation or the tribulation.

God bless

Q-Why is the Church mentioned in Revelations in the first three chapters, but not mentioned again until the 22nd. chapter? Does this mean that the Church is raptured pre-tribulation?

A-No, it actual helps sustain a Pre-wrath position. (from this point on, pre-wrath refers to the rapture of the Church being before God's wrath, that is, at the opening of the seventh seal) We see in Rev. 4:1 that John is ushered up to Heaven. What he sees here is God upon His Throne. There is no mention of John seeing the Church at that time. One must understand that if the Church were there, God would have revealed that to John. In chapter six, we are told of the opening of the first six seals. John ends with a statement telling us that God's wrath is about to occur.

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Revelation 20:4-5

When is that first resurrection?

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, F4 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:51-57

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. Matthew 22:29

When is that first resurrection?
Hi Solo - Food for thought...
1. When is that first resurrection?
I believe the key is found in:
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Two things to note:
1. The time – Prior to or at the very beginning of the 1,000 year reign - “shall reign with him a thousand years.â€Â

2. The people – “they shall be priests of God and of Christ†– This is Israel - see Exo 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.

Rev 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father;
The church, which is his body, has never meant to be priests in a physical land.

The church is to be in a heavenly kingdom - Eph. 2:6 - Israel an earthly kingdom.
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
Eph 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

2. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, F4 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

In early Acts the Lord’s 2nd coming was still possible at that time – God was giving the nation another chance at the kingdom offer. All that was needed was for the nation to accept Christ, their Messiah that Peter preached in Acts 2. They started the official rejection in Acts 7. During this early Acts time Thessalonians and Corinthians were written and the 2nd advent discussed – not the rapture. The body of Christ had yet to be revealed by Paul. The Gentiles were getting in on the blessings as prophesied in the OT but still no body of Christ of Ephesians. The Gentiles getting in on the blessings and the body of Christ in Ephesians are different. Once Israel officially rejected Paul’s offer (Acts 28) then the 2nd advent and Israel getting into the land was put on hold and the body of Christ that was forming came to fruition after Acts 28 (Ephesians – Colossians).

Basically God’s plan for Israel and the Gentiles were coming to fruition during Acts but then it morphed into the plan formed from BEFORE the foundation of the word – the body of Christ. Israel’s plan was put on hold.

3. Behold, I shew you a mystery;
I believe it is mystery is the end of the tribulation “rapture of tribulation saints†– not the rapture of the church as most think of it. The context is 2nd advent.

4. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

This, I believe, to be the “general resurrection†that Israel understood which will take place prior to the 1,000 year reign. Here Ezek. 37 (dry bones) and Jer. 31 with Heb. 8 take place and they all (resurrected Jew and maybe Gentile from OT and out of the tribulation) and are gathered together and enter into the land and Israel will fulfill Gods plan of becoming the nation of kingdom of priests.

5. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

This is the 2nd coming during Acts that could have taken place but was put off until the future.

That’s my take.

God bless
