I was hoping to see a room here dedicated to Christians in recovery... Facebook has many but I'm not looking to advertise my involvement either... I'm without a church home (aside from my friends and family in Christ) just not attached to any particular address or building... I'm a solid member of the AA fellowship though... so I get plenty of support and fellowship there... but my need for deeper Christian fellowship and discussion in general and as it relates to the BB and 12 steps is what I'm looking for... And if any are opposed to AA/12 steps I'd be open to that discussion as well... Thanks for having a site dedicated to open honest and private discussion! I look forward to meeting some new friends in Christ!!!

amen - good idea

welcome to the forum

Yes good idea...
About 53 years ago i read the "Big Book" My father in law was a member of AA and was dry for about 12 years at that time...back it those days it was God not 'your higher power'
The 12 steps did wonders for our son in law.
To me it is like putting faith into action.

Thanks Reba, wow that was a long time ago... I think a re-read may be in order ;) They havn't erased God from the steps, and I'm sure that would not go down well if they tried... Most still say the Lord's Prayer at the end, it's a paradox as with many things in life... Once sober, God has a better chance at pursuing His children, and it makes better citizens of us all in the mean time...

hi. Welcome to CFnet. I don't know much about AA, sorry. Some churches have "Celebrate Recovery," which seems to help some people.

I hope you enjoy your time here with everybody at CFnet.

hi Dave AA is a great program my top priority suggestion is find you a good home church.there are churches that has support groups . you really need a good church home with a caring pastor and caring congregation. any out side source such as the forum can be of help to.. but please do not substitute it for a home Church . years ago i had to take drug classes..i think they call it N/A it was rules of my probation ... i really didnt need it i had quit on my own had been for months . so the counselor walked me the program as i was interested in becoming a counselor . that has been close to 25 years ago . how long you been clean ?

Hi Ezra, thanks and congrats on being clean for a quarter century... I just celebrated 26 yrs in December... I was 24 at the time, npw 50... my time has been evenly split between AA and church about 10 yrs of active participation in each... and about 5 yrs where i wasnt really involved in either... but the 1st 8 yrs and the last 3have been in AA and thats where Im currently posted, God has me posted I should say.... And im ok with that for now... my life is very full at the moment, 3 kids, a wife, 2 cats, 2 dogs... Id love tp find what you speak of, no question, but I know that that will be in His time... I was lead to find this group and ppl like yourself that can help bolster my Christian faith... But I appreciate your concern I really do...
