God is constantly guiding me in new directions as I develop new skills. Last week he told me to let my son go so he can grow up. Three days ago I was passed over for a volunteer program working with children. Yesterday, I was let go from a counseling program in which I taught non-Christians about self-esteem. Today, I let my psychologist go because he was upset that I could not afford to pay him. I asked for charity and he declined.

After the initial shock of all this, I began to get excited about what comes next. I secretly hoped God would send me on a trip. Then I met John from Kenya and he invited me to help him with the women in his parish and come visit them. "I have plenty of time," I said.

Today, I was meditating and Spirit told me to move past cognitive therapy and twelve step programs and get to the heart of the problem which causes so much suffering in people: a deeper understanding of how to balance the commands of the scripture with what we now know about how the brain works.

In Christian counseling the healer is Jesus Christ and the guide is the Holy Spirit. Susan acts as a mediator for the Holy Sprit. She interpretes your concerns in terms of what scripture says in combination with transpersonal psychology. Transpersonal means spirit led. She specializes is helping her clients come to terms with what the Bible commands and what we now know about what the brain and the spirit need to feel good about life. This includes healing the wounds of childhood and processing the pain and suffering of today.

There also many Christians who were traumatized by certain religious denominations who need healing in order to magnify their faith.

I am also hoping that if I actually get clients that the learned people on the board will consult with me.

I really hope this works out as I really think many modern Christians suffer because they think such outdated thoughts as we have to be "perfect." I learned from Jeff on this site that God wants to perfect us but, we don't have to be perfect. Rather we are to be "perfectly imperfect" and live in the "shadow of God's perfection."

What the Holy Spirit has not revealed to me is whether I do this for free, for a donation or a fee. I will admit I lost a lot of income when my husband died so I would love to get help paying the bills. Please contact me using the "conversation option," and let me know what you think I should do.

I just got my first question . . .

Yes I have training to do this. I graduated from U.C. Berkeley, Phi Beta Kappa. I have a teaching credential. I have taken graduate courses in transpersonal psychology. I have written four books on the subject of healing. I have read the Bible. I have studied the Bible with a group called, "The School of Prophets." I have been baptized. I have experienced most of what I help people with. I have been healed myself but am still a work in progress. The Holy Spirit talks to me and guides me to say the right thing. I also get chastised if I say the wrong thing. Quickly. I love doing what I do. I was told in the sixth grade that my calling was to be a teacher and writer. Finally, I have been doing this for 37 years. I have many letters of recommendation on my web site. A Brighter Tomorrow

How would wealth change you?
In my wealthy phases, I changed for sure. I became complacent and unappreciative. Money went to my head. Arrogant and matetialistic.
I think I am suited to my current low finances. Keeps me appreciative and grateful. Maybe closer to God too. who knows.

I don't know how wealth would change me because I never had any. I grew up poor. When I was a single parent I got government assistance. My check was $148 a month in 1969. I did get some financial aid and bought a bed for my kids who were sleeping on the floor. I graduated from college and got a job as a secretary which paid me less than I was getting on welfare. Helping my son has kept me poor for sure. As a counselor for 37 years I never made enough to pay the bills. I don't want to be wealthy anyway. My phone is off because I could not afford to pay the bill this month. This is what I had in mind. When my husband died I lost half of my income so I am looking for ways to earn money and also help people.
