For many of you, this might be old news, but I'm pretty out of the loop with pop-culture, as our children would confirm.
Here is the article on Wikipedia I'm referring to.
So, it went down that in 2014 that this singer of a heavy metal Christian band was arrested, tried, and convicted of attempting to hire a hitman to murder his wife. He went on to disclose that he faked faith in Jesus Christ in order to sell records.
Question: When hearing him admit this, what is your first response? Are you relieved that this wasn't another shining example of hypocrisy for anti-Christian people to scoff at our faith about? Or are you saddened to know that he is among the lost in this world?
Whether or not this story is new to you, think of your reaction whenever you did first learn about it.
I have to admit, I had a sense of relief at first, but then I had an afterthought that my heart might not have been in the right place. Interesting.
