Just kidding (don't watch it). To be honest, I don't know if there is such a thing. Just pick anything off the shelf and repent afterwards if you find it objectionable. I still reckon the best film i've seen this year was "I am Sam". No swearing, excellent story and choice acting from Sean Penn.

I agree with icon. I have yet to see a GOOD Christian movie. And "I Am Sam" was probably my favorite movie I have seen this year. I think I will probably buy it. Was Russell Crowe in it? Sean Penn did a great job as Sam.

My mistake, I was thinking of "a beautiful mind" (Russel Crowe). I saw both "Beautiful Mind" and "I am Sam" last easter when on vacation in iceland. Both equally as good. Both had no-violence, swearing, a good story line and excellent acting. Both highly recommended.

The Omega Code
The Omega Code 2 (Megiddo)
Left Behind with Kirk Cameron
Tribulation with Howie Long and Gary Busey
Revelation with Jeff Farnet
Judgment with Mr. T
The Bible
Noah's Ark
Jesus
family Is One

We have all these in our collection of films. They are all Bible based. And good for the entire family. I have yet seen I am Sam. I heard two stories, people say it was good, people said it was to slow and boring. Depends what you like I guess.

I highly recommend Signs with Mel Gibson. I great story with many great christian messages along the way. Some violence, no swearing or nudity, and not the same old alien flic I thought it would be.

Joshua...

I don't know if you have seen this movie, but... this movie is a must see. Great acting, cinematography, great story. This sotry is like a modern day parable about how it would look like if Jesus were to come into a small town today. How he would react to daily situations, and how we would react to him. It stars Tony Goldwyn and Abraham F Murray. I highly recommend it. It is one of those movies where you would laugh, cry and makes you think. Thumbs up. You can check out the trailer at http://www.joshuathemovie.com. I believe Blockbuster has them, or I got my copy by calling this number. 888-465-6748. And oh... Third Day has a 2 minute appearance on it too!

try to this for size

Hey, if you liked those Left Behind series....then you'll really find "Joshua" to be a breath of fresh air. Rent a copy for yourself. Check it out and let's chat some more. =)

Thanks for the tip. I'll try watching Joshua.

I like the movie The greatest story ever told and
2nd glance.

Future Tense is one of my favorites

What's THAT all about?

Here's a good one. 'Saving Grace' with Tom Conte. (not the 'new' saving grace. this one is a bit older)

It's a touching story about a fictitious pope. Very enlightning.

Saving Grace, 1986 - Tom Conte stars in a quiet story of a Pope (Conte) who finds himself cut off more and more from the people he is supposed to help and guide. So, he runs away to a little Italian town to find what he has lost...his purpose (while his closest friends in the Vatican do their level best to cover for him.) Strong support from Fernando Rey among others. A little slow in spots, but worth the wait.

Why it's the life story of Jesus of course

I think I've been in these forums too long today :morning:

Noah's Ark

The one with Jon Voight?!? You're kidding, right? That was one terrible film. Not at all even trying to stay along with scripture...in any way. It was absolutely ridiculous from beginning to end. Well, I say the end, but I didn't finish it. When the peddler came paddling up to the ark from nowhere I'd had enough and turned it off.

Man, was that one big stupid movie.

As for a good movie suggestion, try Pay It Forward with Kevin Spacey and Haley Joel Osmont. An excellent story that'll have ya cryin' at the end.

way2groovy1, you do know I was just kidding. I have it on VHS and plan on watching it this weekend.

(answers back one year later hehe)
yah I kinda figured it out, when I first answered that I was on lack of sleep and too much internet.

Lately I feel like watching a good movie. Does anyone know of any good Christian movies?

Although it wouldn't be classified a "Christian" movie, per se, I would recommend Chariots of Fire. A Man for All Seasons is another good choice.

As for Christian movies, or at least movies based on biblical events, check out the following:

The Ten Commandments (1956) with Charlton Heston
Ben-Hur(1959) with Charlton Heston
(Ones I am not talking about Ben-Hur(1925) with Ramon Novarro, Ben Hur (1907) with Herman Rottger)
The Robe (1953) with Richard Burton (First Film done in CinemaScope early form of widescreen used from 1953 to 1967 replaced by less expensive Panavision by the mid-1960s)

All wonderful films, may be boring to immature people or young children. They all hold a special place in my heart for two reasons:
1. The talk about biblical things
2. My father loves these films and it brings me great joy and happiness to see my father enjoy something…I love him very much.

In closing I would have to agree that there really not any GOOD Christian movies, excluding of course the ones I mentioned, out there.

:biggrin Great movies NPX. Also, check out "Quo Vadis". It's not an epic like the ones above, but it is entertaining. Peter Ustinov plays an excellent, demented Nero.
