yes, its a fairly obvious statement, but...true story: I just stumbled upon this at the Ligonier Ministry's website. Made me realize I have a ways to go, yet...and I need to -somehow- get into social relationships with other believers, etc. anyway...

if you feel like it, read and critique, etc. I think its an excellent little bit of teaching, personally. :)
It is...
But it focuses on stopping sinful lifestyles instead of explaining the encouragement and support that community provides.

Acts of charity and self deprecation can come from being involved with others who value such things. Otherwise it's not in our nature.

Good article. Being closer to believers (or to anyone instead of purely anonymous) is worth doing.

A friend at work put it in other terms too. She lived in two social worlds. One at work, and the other was outside of work. But when a friend outside of work started working there it weirded her out. Kind of like mixing two worlds that probabley don't play by the same rules, or doesn't see her in the same way.

Being anonymous is kind of like that. You get to go to another social world without having to have the repercussions reach you in other parts of life. It's something I need to work on too. Lots of people probabley need to work on it. On that note, the list for what we need to do seems to only grow bigger. If God's putting in your heart to reach out into the community go for it. Do it soon and make efforts, before it gets buried by a list of other "should be doing" items that get lodged in the list without getting off of it.
