I guess in my entire 40 year's on this planet, I have met with hundreds of Christian's. In all that time spent, I can't even remember when one of them has wanted to know me. They were never interested in my hopes or dreams, my thoughts or feelings, my troubles or fears.

They tell me Christianity is about a relationship, but how can you have a relationship with someone without knowing them through & through? How could they have ever loved me, when they never took the time to just be a friend.

We don't need to believe thing's, that's all I'm saying. Believing thing's creates mental chaos, because the brain can't process sensory information that is false. Beliefs are assumption based, and therefore distort the sensory information the brain collects.

So does that mean that you believe that all life as we know it could stop instantaneously and every molecule in your body could explode at the speed of light?

Uhhhh...
That's kinda nuts.
I believe my gas gauge when it says my truck is out of gas...otherwise the ensuing chaos of being stuck on the other side of town is going to be bad. I like calm, peace, and order...

I believe IN Jesus...just like I believe in my son...because I know them both.
It's no longer faith for me but just a calm assurance. YMMV.

What is YMMV?

Not necessarily. For those of us who believe, it is no assumption. We believe it with all our heart just as easily as you believe the sun is shining on your face on a sunny day or that your getting wet when it is raining.
The Greek's have a word for people like you, idios! I have nothing else to add to a forum full of unlearning brats.

Goodbye.

I actually understand, agree somewhat and share an experience that provoked those types of thoughts.

I understand that you wrestle with schizophrenia and perhaps this view you hold is what helps you stay grounded each day. I can't fault you for that because at the end of each day, were all stuck with ourselves and the thoughts that run through our heads.

I think God puts it in us to understand He exists, but I also understand that we are all prone to misunderstanding who He is. And when our own thoughts distorts who God is to our own detriment, I think your right and its time to take a few steps back.

If I could ask, and I promise I will be respectful, but when you believed in God, what were your wildest thoughts about him?

If you don't want to share, I will respect your decision.

Thanks,
Jeff

When Jesus was on the cross he said something very profound... And if we could learn to model our attitude after Him... The world would be a much better place.

But like yourself, I fail miserably more often than not. But that doesn't mean we quite trying.

Again, like I said I'm trying my hardest but people like that really make it difficult for me and make me lose my patience. My sincerest apologizes. :sorry2x

I understand and we all feel that way at times. Some people are just difficult people and other times were the ones being difficult.

I think life experienced is beautiful in so many ways including when we each fall short and then realize that for ourselves. What I mean is this. When we take the time to slow down and take as honest of a look around us that we can, opportunities can lead to mistakes and mistakes can lead to opportunity. I think Paul put it best when he said

Romans 8:28 English Standard Version (ESV)
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[a] for those who are called according to his purpose.

None of us are perfect, and that should humble us. But on the other hand, it shouldn't discourage us either. If anything, I think it should motivate us because even if we fall short of who God wants us to be, it simply shows us what He is and can do in our lives.

I hope that Ghostbuster will find his inner peace as he works out his salvation and I know God loves him just as much as you or I.

Oh yes believe me I know that I fall short. I know that sometimes I can be stubborn and difficult,.. but at least I realize that and I am making an attempt to change that and I know that's all you and God and anybody else in the staff here really ask of me. :)

Btw, I do believe that anybody who wants to change can,.. even Ghostbuster. I used to be one of my school's biggest bullies (on account of the fact that I was bullied myself) and now look at me! :biggrin2 If I can repent from my sins, turn to the Lord, and become a new creation in Christ so can he. There is hope for everybody and that hope is found in Jesus Christ. :cross

Ghostbuster,
I do not know what the Greek word "idios" means in English but the remaining part of your post is quite clear. I really do not know what I wrote that was so upsetting but your reaction was not what I expected at all. Sorry.

I think it would be good to stop talking about Ghostbuster as if he's not here. It is not very respectful and because this is the Questions From Seekers forum, we should be addressing his questions and avoiding the sideline topics.

I agree. I'm not really sure if he's still here to be honest because his previous message made it sound like he was leaving, however I know that's not the point and although he wasn't very respectful towards us,.. we should all be the better people on this one.

I already looked it up it basically means peculiar.

I agree as like you said this is Questions From Seekers and not all seekers are Christians. We want the same respect we give others, but we know that doesn't always happen, but yet we must walk in love and not let our emotions get the best of us.

If Ghostbuster has truly left CF we need to continue to pray for him as we have planted the seeds and pray they will be watered and God bring in the harvest.
