According to scientific research, the earth has experienced extremes before including major periods of low temperature (ice age) and much, much higher levels of CO2 gas.

True, but there are other factors to consider such as the sun is gradually getting warmer over time as helium builds up in its core. The planet will act differently today than historically, because of such factors.

The earth was designed by our creator and He instructed us to be fruitful and multiply. Is it not possible that He has designed the earth to be able to handle our existence here until He returns?

Yes, absolutely. He has also given us brains so that we can figure out how to be good stewards of the planet. When fluorocarbons were depleting the ozone layer, people figured it out and changed to alternate substances. When particulates were harming people in American cities, Americans figured it out and cleaned up the air. Ditto for lead in petrol. Lead in the air was harming children, so it was removed from fuel. Carbon dioxide is just one factor of many for people to consider when designing machines.

1. CARBON DIOXIDE IS ESSENTIAL FOR PLANTS

Yes, true. Greenhouses typically add carbon dioxide to the air so as to enhance crop output.

CARBON DIOXIDE IS A VERY MINOR COMPONENT OF AIR

Necessarily so. Carbon dioxide at the proper percentage is absolutely essential for people's health. OSHA sets limits on carbon dioxide in offices for safety reasons. Adding just a tiny fraction of a percent of carbon dioxide changes people's body chemistry. Their pH changes, forcing their bodies to release calcium and such in an effort to restore balance. This puts stress on their system. Adding carbon dioxide to the air is good for plants, but not for people.

Our bodies are designed to work best if carbon dioxide is about 250 PPM, which was the level before the Industrial Revolution. Its now 400 PPM, which is starting to have an effect on people. As carbon dioxide levels rise outside, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain healthy levels of carbon dioxide in office buildings and such.

hi. i think it -is- a very serious problem....

but i think the focus should be more on getting massive corporations to clean up their act, rather than focusing on Joe and Jane Middle America.
Which money comes from the average person in the forms of higher prices. Look up Miami power plant spill ,rate payers, paying for thar.

What about silicone extraction ? I live near one, digging a massive hole to get silica isn't exactly environmentally friendly never mind the recycling debacle where China wont take our materials and recycle it.would you pay more for paper plates ? Then a new one?

This is a field I know ,r134 a is worse of a gas then r12 on the global warming issue .way way. Way ,way worse. Often green ideas are worse!

Ban plastic bottles, bags,I remember when that was green!30 years ago ,reusable bags arent green, water must be used to clean that ,and never mind the power too.

me again. i just think....-some- gov't regulation is called for. getting, say, exxon or even the ag businesses (big ones) to clean up, even (just throwing a # out there...) .5%, will probably make a much bigger dent than asking for most people who are just living their lives, trying to do OK, to revamp their/our lifestyles and 'go green,' etc.

It doesn't work that way,no corp will eat that cost, cuts in pay ,stocks drop.

My liberal grandmother owned stocks in power grids ,she built a trust fund doing investing .pensions will take a hit.its complicated.im not for waste ,but costs gotta be paid.the feds not the free market are the worst at pollution and not cleaning it up.

I can post articles on the burning pits ,the myriads of bases with pollution in drinking water for the military and cover up ,the fact ww2 ended 80 years ago still have bases not cleaned up.i work near one whose water grid is in that description. Wells must be aireated before treatment to be used,

Why do people buy and use products then complain about climate change and pollution.
Convenience drives the use of products on the market. However, the whole world has become so heavily dependent on plastics, that there is no going back to other biodegradable materials. And plastics do not biodegrade.

Climate change is essentially a non-issue which has been made into an artificial issue for power over the general populations. Politicians are not interested in real solutions to real problems, neither are they interested in upholding constitutional guarantees of liberties and freedom which were taken for granted at one time. All they want is POWER.

And unfortunately too many clueless voters have been giving power to the wrong people for too long. Just a careful look at the whole Western world shows you how serious the situation is.

I agree politicians are not interested in real solutions. Most live in fairlyland .

True. Proposed actions are often expensive, a hassle for shoppers, and ineffective. They need to get their act together, and research effective solutions before rushing ahead. Something well thought out, affordable, and with minimal hassle for people. The voters only have so much patience with expensive feathering the nests of lobbyists that accomplishes nothing useful.

The French have been literally rioting in the streets over the silliness being attempted in the name of climate change. The French people want something done, but something that is both effective and affordable.

i -deeply respect- Chuck Colson and his work, so I took this more seriously than I might have, otherwise. hmmmm...(puts re-thinking cap on)

Someone impartial should do research on the issue. It deserves investigation. Affordable solutions that actually accomplish something should be implemented. Carbon dioxide was 250 PPM from the Garden of Eden until a couple of hundred years ago. Today its 400 PPM. This change has a biological effect on people, as we are optimized for 250 PPM. Adding carbon dioxide changes people's body chemistry, their pH. No doubt the change has effects on other animals, plants, and climate. Continuing to move carbon dioxide toward 500 or 600 PPM should only be done if research indicates that this is a safe thing to do.

I vote to do the research, and choose actions based on real science. Not speculation, guessing, and feathering the nests of lobbyists. Its an issue far too serious to squander voter tolerance for action on silliness. We don't need French yellow vest type riots going global.

A few replacements for r12 are also ozone deplators, oops

Every grocery store around here offers a choice between plastic and paper bags except one, Walmart. I wonder what percentage of shoppers ask for paper instead of plastic?

There was a time when only paper bags were used. It would be a very simple matter to go back to "the good old days".
Even so, almost every item is packaged in plastic, and even items which were in glass bottles and jars are now in plastic. Chances are there will be no reverting back to the tried and true. But then again, for Christians the focus must be on the eternal welfare of the soul all around them, not the temporary welfare of the temporal.

Plastic is less costly than most other containers and consumer demand for lower prices drives businesses to find ways to cut costs and get the edge on competitors. In an effort to reduce costs even more, plastic containers are getting thinner and thinner whenever possible. Handling the thin and soft containers is one of the things that has challenged us as a packaging machinery OEM.

Who says we cant be eternally focused and not concerned over our health, seriously, what about a job ,marriage, kids, all of which are the temporal.marriage ends at death, the child you have was never yours.

We do have to live here, try not being able swim, near or in the ocean during algebra blue,Brown, red tides

You acturaly get a choice?. Plastic bags are banned here. Some power trippers must have thought they made a big difference in the world.

I do find it strange though, that there are record highs and lows that go back even to the 1920's.
Maybe the earth as we know now will soon end, because in Gen.8:22 states,
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
