In my morning devotions I am running across some very excellent Verses I'd like to share. Let this thread be about that. Share your daily verse or verses (in context). Just one per day and not a whole list of them. Make a pithy comment and let the Spirit speak to the reader.

'Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ' 1 John 4:7-11 https://www.bible.com/bible/59/1JN.4.7-11

God's love for us is foundational to our faith. It's not that we loved Him, but that He first loved us. For God is love. May this truth cover you today. God is the source, the well of love. Drink deeply from the well.

May your day be blessed in Him and may you shine before all with whom God brings you into contact. Have a blessed day.

~Papa

This morning I woke up at 6. I'm not an early riser. But I was eager to get to my morning devotions. Today's verse is found in John.

John 3: 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Jesus did not come to condemn but to save. A mighty truth!

Thank you God for forgiveness and grace in Christ Jesus. May we shine this light of Truth in the world where ever we go.

We ought to bask in the forgiveness and grace God offers. Grace abounds in the Love of God.

Let your light shine before men! God bless! ~Papa

1 Timothy 1:15-17 NKJV

15. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
16. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.
17. Now to the King Eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be Honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

What a marvellous testimony Paul gave. I would love to share that with someone who believed their sins were too many to be forgiven. Even mine - what love our God has!

This morning I was wondering what The Lord wants me do. What should I be doing as well as battling sin. Then I remembered be silent and listen to The Lord.'

Psalm 31:3 NKJV

"For you are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, for Your name's sake,
Lead me and guide me."

Praying that God will lead us all to where He wants us to be.

Song of Praise for God's Favor
Isaiah 25:1 O Lord, You are my God;
I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name;
For You have worked wonders,
Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.

Center on God. Centering on God means that one pushes aside all other considerations, worries of the day, thoughts that get in the way, and just be with God. Empty oneself of all other thoughts and worries and distractions and think only on God. And listen. Focus. When we focus we bring into clear view that to which we are observing or thinking of. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you. After a while of quite meditation, talk to God about what's on your heart and mind. And then, listen again.

My verse for the day in my morning meditations. God bless! ~Papa

Papa I will read that again until it has sunken in 100 per cent. Thank you for that and God Bless

It reminds me of a story a pastor told us once, being :

There were two men talking, a pastor and a lay man. The Pastor asked him if he could say the Lord's prayer without any other thoughts coming into his mind. " Of course I can" the man replied. The Pastor said "if you can I will give you this horse that is pulling my cart." "That's easy the man replied."
He started the Lord's prayer, but stopped a few seconds later. "Will you be giving me the cart as well?" He asked.

Thank you all for sharing these meaningful verses. Here is my verse for the day. I'm late with it:

Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13: 6-7

Love Well: Loving well begins with God because God is love. When we become believvers, the Spirit enters us and ministers to our spirit. We can love as God loves because He is in us. We cannot do this of ourselves but we can in the power of the Spirit of Christ. May your light shine before men that God may be glorified.

In Christ, ~Papa

Colossians 1:15-20 NIV

15The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

There is so much talk about the tribulation. I always fear I will let the Lord down. Then I remembered the Holy Spirit would give us the power and courage to pull through.

John 16: 32,33 NKJV

32. Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

33. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Jesus has already done it for us and I am sure we will all be given the victory by the Holy Spirit not to let our prcious Lord down when the time comes.

Good morning peeps. I hope you all have a good day in the Lord. My devotions today led me to this:

John 13: 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

My thoughts: Loving as Jesus loved. Serve the least of. Be kind.

It's a command. And if we love Jesus, we keep His commandments. We honor Jesus when we obey. What He asks of us, is good for us. It heals us as it is healing to others. God knows what is best for his children. Obeying is nothing less than doing that which is the very best for us. And it honors God.

We can be selfish, thinking of ourselves over others and their needs. Some people are difficult to love. Jesus was drawn to the least of these. To the unlovable. It's where He spent much of His time. How can we serve others in Love? There are many opportunities. God puts them in our path. See them, and serve in Love.

This is all possible with God. Ask God to grow love in your heart. By the Spirit, this is more than possible.

In Christ ~Papa

My verse for today is on love too.

John 14:21 NKJV

"He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is He who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."

That is so beautiful, I pray for help in keeping the commandments given by Jesus.

God Bless

Today is more about a chapter than a verse. Which is good I think because we should always examine verses in context. Chapter 14 of Romans is a good read for all of us. Reflect on these:

Romans 14:4 Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

11 For it is written,
"as I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to God."

Judging others. We all stand equally before God. One person feels the liberty to certain things while another feels those same things are wrong. Those stronger in faith should not judge the weaker brother. This is also true of our understandings in matters of faith. Some feel this way towards baptism, others that. And yet, we see judging on this thing (and so many others too) when we can see from Scripture that we ought not to judge.

13Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this-not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.

17for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

So we should practice these things: righteousness and peace and joy in the HS! Lift up the brethren! Show love. This is the way God wants His people to act.

19 So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

22The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

Imagine if we all lived this way toward one another. How much more attractive would the Kingdom of God be to the world!

God bless as you serve in love today! ~Papa

Luke 14:25-27

25Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 26“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. 27And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Luke 12:25

25Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Cold and windy and rainy (and dark as it's very early) outside. A perfect time for morning devotions here. My favorite thing to do on a dreary day.

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,

Loving others. God is love. We are His image bearers. We reflect His image. And love is that reflection.

Husbands, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that is how you ought to love. But what does this mean? The answer is simple. Christ was a servant. He served in humility. His actions, all of them, were birthed in love. He always had the other's best in mind. And in the end, He gave his life for her. In the same way, husbands should have this mind of Christ in relationship with his wife.

This loving extends out to others and is for all of us, men and women, old and young. It is the way we reflect the image of God, through Christ, by the power of the Spirit.

Romans 13:8 ESV /
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Colossians 3:14 ESV /
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

1 John 4:8 ESV /
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love

1 John 3:18 ESV /
Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

Colossians 3:17 -25 NKJV

17. And whatever you do in eord or deed, do all in the name of Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

18. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

19. Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.

20. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

21. Father's do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

I am meditating on Colossians today, such good advice in there for many aspects of life.

May The Lord bless you with great love in your hearts and much wisdom in your daily life.
