Scripture Of The Day - The Hands And Feet Of Jesus

Galatians 6:10 - "...be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith..."

Greed steals our lives, according to Proverbs 1:19, so we need to actively resist it. Believing that we are the hands and feet of Jesus is the antidote for greed. If we purpose to be generous and are each day looking for ways to be a blessing to others, then we won't be greedy because there will be no place for it in our lives.

Start each day by asking God to show you what you can do for Him that day. Ask Him whom you can bless. Our generosity will give hope this Christmas season and send up cries of thanksgiving to God from those who are blessed.
 
Scripture Of The Day - Restoration Of Purpose

Joel 2:25 - "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten..."

God can and will restore all the lost years that the enemy tried to vanquish you. He tried to annihilate you (the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy), but he could not stop you! God's Spirit gives life.

He can restore in 2020 the purpose that you feel that you missed. Today is the day of salvation. "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have laid hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God's heavenly calling in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14)

Today is the day of destiny. Make these decrees:

I decree that I am designed by God for a heavenly purpose.

I decree that this is a year of purpose and divine alignments.

I decree that God is accelerating me and redeeming the time and dreams that were lost.

I decree that I was sent to Earth for such a time as this!

"Let it be according to your Word" (Luke 1:38).

All the prophets of old prophetic utterances came to a fullness of time juncture when the young virgin agreed with Heaven and the Word became flesh and dwelt among men and brought with Him the fullness of the Father's prosperity.

What the world calls "the Christmas Season" was not the birthing of Christ; He was conceived during the season of Hanukkah. Hanukkah is known as the Feast of Dedication or Feast of Lights. It was the beginning of the supernatural manifestation of God becoming flesh and dwelling among men (John 1:14). The Father sent His sperm seed (1 Peter 1:23) with the wisdom of all the ages in it, to impregnate a young virgin and she would bring forth the God-man child.

At this time the fullness of God's prosperity was given to mankind. From the very moment of His conception, the process of reconciliation began between mankind and the Father. Therefore every born again child of God can prosper in all seven aspects (spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally, socially, and financially) of their life.

The Scriptures show us that Jesus Christ was born “in the days of Herod the king” (Matt.2:1). Herod was so fixated on the fact that wise men from the East queried him about a child born to be “King of the Jews,” that he pretended that he, too, desired to worship him (Matt.2:7-8). The wise men were warned not to return to Herod, and departed into their own country, and Joseph and Mary took Jesus and fled to Egypt.

When the wise men did not inform Herod of where the prophesied King was, Herod “was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men” (verse 16).

Jesus, then, had to be born before the death of Herod the Great. The gospel of Luke confirms this fact. Luke recorded, “There was in the days of Herod, king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zecharias” (Luke 1:5). During this time, the gospel continues, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born.

Thus Jesus was already born when Herod was still alive. But when did Herod die? Says the Critical-Experimental Commentary:

“As Herod is known to have died in the year of Rome 750, in the fourth year before the commencement of our Christian era, the BIRTH OF CHRIST MUST BE DATED FOUR YEARS BEFORE THE DATE USUALLY ASSIGNED TO IT, even if He were born within the year of Herod’s death, as it is next to certain that he was” (Commentary on Matt.2:1-12).

Hastings Bible Dictionary also points out “Herod called the great . . . He died B.C. 4” (“Herod,” vol.2, p.353). Says The New Bible Dictionary, “Herod the Great, king of the Jews 404 BC: (“Herod,” p.521).

The year Herod died there was an eclipse. Josephus records, during Herod’s final year, that at the time he slew the high priest Matthias, “that very night there was an eclipse of the moon” (Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, XVII, VI, 4). Says the editor, William Whiston, in a footnote:

“This eclipse of the moon (which is the only eclipse mentioned by Josephus) is of the greatest consequence for the determination of the time for the death of Herod Antipater, and for the birth and entire chronology of Jesus Christ. It happened March 13th, in the year of the Julian period 4710, and the 4th year before the Christian era” (ibid., p.365).

Thus Jesus was at least born before the spring of 4 B.C. But what time of year was He born? There is much conjecture on this subject, but there are enough clues in the gospel accounts and history to give us a very good idea.

Scripture Of The Day - What Does Salvation Include?

Many believers are not aware that the word "salvation" includes a whole lot more than being born again and going to heaven when you die.

It actually means "material and temporal deliverance from danger and apprehension, preservation, pardon, restoration, healing, wholeness, and soundness.

One might say, "What if the trouble I am facing is of my own making, will God deliver me from this mess even though it is my own fault?" Even so, He is always there. We can't wear out His mercy. He is always there to take us from trouble to triumph!

We have been instructed to forget the former things and warned not to dwell on the past. Our ability to perceive the new will be greatly affected by our willingness to forget the former things and leave the past behind. Isaiah's words encourage us to expect the unexpected.

A massive paradigm shift is taking place and a "business as usual" mindset will not position us to fully ride the wave of His glory in this hour. "Enlarge the place of your tent. Stretch your tent curtains wide; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes (Isaiah 54:2).

As He enlarges your container and capacity for 2020, your impact, effectiveness, and fruitfulness will be increased. He is re-mantling you for the "greater things."

Scripture Of The Day - Releasing The Breaker

Ezekiel 26:9 - "He will pound your walls with battering rams and demolish your towers with sledgehammers."

The battering rams and the sledgehammers are a representation of the Word of God, and the force behind it. As you begin to declare the Word of God in 2020 like a battering ram, with the backing of Heaven, you will break through the gates and walls that have kept you from breakthrough.

In the story of King Jehoash and the prophet Elisha (2Kings 13:14-19), the prophet told the king to shoot the arrow where the glory was. The prophet called the arrow "the Lord's arrow of victory." The glory and His Word will manifest the victory every time. Elisha tells the king to take the other arrows (Word of God) and strike the ground. The king struck the ground only 3 times, and the prophet got mad at him and told him, "...You should have struck the ground five or six times..." (2 Kings 13:19). The king struck the ground according to the measure of his faith. Striking the ground 3 times only enabled a partial victory and breakthrough.

We have to stop settling for partial breakthroughs and victories. Take the arrows of the Word of God, and strike the ground for the complete manifestation of victory. Breakthrough is here and now. Strike the ground and release the breaker!

Scripture Of The Day - Strongholds

2 Corinthians 10:4 - "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to tear down strongholds."

Wherever a stronghold exists, it is a demonically induced pattern of thinking. Specifically, it is a "house made of thoughts" which has become a dwelling place for satanic activity.

The strongholds upon which demons rely consist of our own thoughts, attitudes, and opinions which are in agreement with evil.

The strongholds that affect us most are those which are so hidden in our thinking patterns that we do not recognize them or identify them as evil.

Matthew 12:37 - "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

AFFIRMATIONS:
Today!.... I make up my mind that I'm going to speak life to my situation and circumstances. I am going to the word of God to find out what He has to say about me and my situation, and I'm going to say what He says.

Today!... I curse the wrong words I've spoken over my life and begin to speak the words of life I'm supposed to speak.


Proverbs 6:2 - "You are snared (trapped) with the words of your lips, you are caught by the speech of your mouth."

Proverbs 18:21 - "Death and life are in the power of the tongue."

Scripture Of The Day - Compassion

Philippians 3:10 - "That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection."

Jesus said to Martha, "I am the resurrection and the life" (John 11:25).


There is something different between saying you have faith and then being pressed into a tight corner and proving that you have faith. If you believe, it will be done according to your faith. (Mark 11:24)

May God give us the "fellowship of His sufferings" (Philippians 3:10) that when we see a person afflicted with cancer, we will pray and believe right through until the disease is struck dead. When we see a bent and helpless woman or a man who is weak and sick, may God give us compassion and a fellowship with them that will lighten their heavy burdens and set them free.

How often we have missed the victory because we did not have compassion at the needed moment. We failed to pray with a broken heart.
 
Scripture Of The Day - Embracing 2020 With Expectation

Ephesians 3:16,19 - 16 "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being...19—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."

The Lord wants you to see His power and His strength but He is also wanting you to see YOUR authority in Him to use the Word of God --what it means to partner with Jesus, to see the Holy Spirit move upon your faith – a faith that is rooted in what HE has spoken – and then to see HIM do the miraculous.

In the fires you have faced and the Goliaths you have stood before in 2019, your heart has been prepared. Character and humility have been forged by the hand of the Lord in the trials you have endured. God has taught you much and forged you as you have surrendered to Him and moved in obedience to His Word.

2020 will be a year where EVERYTHING changes. Everything will be affected by you stepping into your God-given destiny.
 
Scripture Of The Day - ABRAHAM LEAVES HIS HOME TO FOLLOW GOD

2 Corinthians 5:7, "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Hebrews 11:1 gives the definition of faith, "Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen" (The Passion Translation).


If we look at Abraham as an example, walking by faith requires you to go to a place you do not know (His purpose for your life), one that God will reveal as you walk in obedience (Genesis 12:1).

On the leading of the Holy Spirit, we are to step out in obedience and use the keys and pieces we have been given, knowing that others will arrive at the time we need them.
 
Scripture Of The Day - Receiving Abundant Blessing

Numbers 6:24,25 - "The Lord bless you, and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; "

2020 will be marked with great blessing but do not forget Him when you have need of nothing. Do not forget Him when the desires of your heart have been answered and fulfilled. Do not forget Him when that promotion you were desperate for has been given to you or where things are great and wonderful.

When we enter into a season of abundant blessing it can often be the place where we can be lulled into a false sense of security. It's a place where the cares and riches of this life can easily creep in slowly and subtly choke the Word in your life and make it unfruitful. It's in this place where we can become overly comfortable, lazy, unprofitable and distracted servants.

We must guard our hearts against apathy and complacency, drifting into lukewarmness and becoming a soft target for the enemy. Mark 4:19, "And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of other things entering in choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful."
 
Scripture Of The Day - The Manifested Presence Of God

Exodus 33:14-16 "And He said, 'My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.' Then he [Moses] said to Him, 'If Thy presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Thy sight, I and Thy people? Is it not by Thy going with us, so that we, I and Thy people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?'"

This is a key of great power in God's Kingdom. The presence of God is the distinguishing characteristic that proves we have favor with God! Without it, we are as other men. The glory of God is "the manifested presence of God," the visible evidence that the person of God, Himself, has shown up among us—and that is the greatest thing in life! Day by day, we must make our way into His presence to be renewed, transformed, empowered, and filled with His glory.

As we spend time with Him, we then release the brilliance of His great presence to the world around us.
 
Scripture Of The Day - Positioned And Unstoppable

Matthew 7:13-14 - "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it."

Look for God's purpose in everything you are going through and live in the moment, moving forward in each step cautiously, and using His wisdom. Ask God not only for His wisdom and discernment, but also for Him to place His lens upon your eyes so that you can see everything around you through His eyes.

God will open doors that no man can shut. The doors and opportunities that God has been preparing for you, no power of darkness or man can stop. We are representatives of the Kingdom of Heaven, and the Lord is making us unstoppable! Be positioned for such a time as this.

Get ready, exciting times are up ahead! All the praise, honor and glory be unto our living God alone!
 
Scripture Of The Day - MAGNIFY THE LORD!

Psalm 34:3 - "O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together."


We can magnify the Lord in our situations by focusing on Him and His victory in the midst of all else that would persuade us otherwise.

Even though we do not make God bigger in an actual sense, we do make Him "bigger" than doubt, unbelief, disease, financial lack, despair, etc in our eyes and in our heart. This is important because out of our heart the mouth speaks.

We acknowledge who He is in character first and foremost and worship Him because of that. Then we can also worship Him for what He will do on our behalf.

Affirmations:

I MAGNIFY THE LORD AND EXALT HIS NAME AND HE DELIVERS ME FROM ALL MY FEARS.

I LIFT UP MY HEAD AND SPIRITUAL EYES TO BEHOLD THE KING OF GLORY --THE LORD STRONG AND MIGHTY--THE LORD MIGHTY IN BATTLE.
 
Scripture Of The Day - Oneness With The Tree Of Life

1 Corinthians 11:26, "For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do show the Lord's death till He comes."

The "Tree of Life" relates to life or death. The "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" relates to that which is good or bad, or, right or wrong.

In our daily life experiences we often make decisions, or choices that relate to right or wrong, and comment about it being either good or bad. As we do this, we again become attached to the tree of knowledge. Therefore, as we prepare for communion, the first thing we do is to release ourself from this attachment to the Tree of Knowledge.

We then reattach ourself to the Tree of Life and speak to the Lord words that include the following: "Lord, I release the totality of my being from the Tree of Knowledge, and through Your redemption in my behalf, I humbly come to You and reattach myself to the Tree of Life, as being a branch that can live, only as I receive the life of the true vine, flowing into my life."
