A horror !
Babylon how thou hast fallen. Come out of her my people that thou be not partakers in her sins.
I don't think that music will help because it will make you relive it all again and again. They have made you suffer too much as it is. You can't keep on going through that terrific pain.

If you can, do you think you can elaborate on the feeling you would get? I can't even listen to some metal music, it irritates me too much. I just want to know the other side, when people seek it out. I just asked my husband why he likes it, and he said he gets pumped up. Whatever that means?
I agree with daninthelionsden in post 8.
I can only add that it makes a person tune out,,,drop out..whatever the expression is these days.
You're so concentrated on the music that you can't think of anything else.

That is CONSCIOUSLY. But the music is having a very negative affect on the mind.

I think I agree.
I'd say that anything we see with the eyes or hear with our ears is going to have either a good affect on us or a bad affect on us.

This is why small children, and up to adulthood, should not be exposed to certain things...like acts of violence and nasty music.

But, alas, these days they're exposed to both and we're witness to the immoral lives it has caused.
Our school system only makes it worse.

Things I witnessed in other families as a child. Oeji board being used by a priest's kids. A guy giving his 2 year old a power hit off a joint. A 12 year old daughter of a prostitute and her 25 year old boyfriend. Helping to measure/weigh pot for a cop to sell on the streets. Helping to count out pills for a prison guard to sell to inmates. A boy who frequently had to drop to a crouch and put his heel to his butt so he didn't poop himself after being repeatedly raped by his father. A girl casually having sex in her bedroom with her boyfriend with the door open as siblings watched. I heard more filthy jokes as a child than I heard in my entire adult life. Another girl I knew became pregnant from her father resulting in abortion. My mother had sex with my brother because he was having a bad trip on LSD(like that helped him).......Hows that song go? Doctor My Eyes.

Oh yes Dan.
We live in satan's playpen.
This earth is HIS domain....
and lucky are they that could keep as far away from it as possible.
What man could do to man is horrendous.
I think you're a miracle.....

This is the main reason I don't like the internet. All these images are available to anyone at anytime if you are online.

This was one bone of contention between my husband and me. I didn't want our children to have iPods until they were much older, but he won.

Dan ? I've come to know that real life is stranger than fiction. You have experienced it.

I agree with you.
It was bad enough when I was raising my kids and all we had was the TV.
We had only one in the whole house...my friends had one in every room, including the bedrooms.
No way.

There are ways to limit what you see.
Believe it or not, I have my own computer and tablets set to not see everything...can't remember what it's called, but there is a setting. Some of the stuff I used to get on YouTube was pretty bad..but not anymore.

Trouble is...these kids are smart, and have friends anyway, so nothing really helps.
I just hope they can grow up with some kind of respect for one another...but I'm starting to doubt this is possible anymore.

We're all in God's hands.

I was gonna say, we just had the tv growing up. Kudos to you for putting that setting on. Thankfully I haven't seen bad videos advertised, otherwise I'd be doing it too.

My kids are so smart. Technologically, smarter than me. I hope someday, they can use that knowledge for good.

Back when my daughter was trying to directly break up our marriage, she asked me "But, wouldn't you rather be with someone like yourself?" I told her that I know no one like me nor do I know anyone who has ever been through what I've been through. If someone were to tell me a story like mine, I wouldn't believe them. I lived it and I still don't believe it. There is a homeless guy who visits the park under our balcony to yell for hours at the trees. When ever I see him, I say in a low voice "What happened to you to make you yell at trees?

All through my 20s I watched crime shows religiously. The things that happen out there are unbelievable and those are just the things that get attention. The stuff you witnessed are behind closed doors (didn't make the news) I see your compassion for those struggling.
