2 Corinthians 3:13-16
And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

Lord, I ask as we begin this study on the little horn, that our thoughts rest upon your only begotten Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit of His resurrection, and that if it should please the Lord, he might take away the vail that is upon our hearts and that we might know the truth about the Horn of David.

Daniel 7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Another little horn, and in this horn were the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things. As we proceed with this study, we shall find what the scripture tells us about this little horn is; about what Daniel 7 and the rest of the scriptures have to say about this horn and great things he spoke. The Horn of our Salvation. Jesus Christ, the little horn speaking great things.

Psalms 18:2
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower

2 Samuel 22:3
The God of my rock; in him will I trust:
he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge,
my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

Psalms 132:11-18
The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David;
he will not turn from it;
Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
If thy children will keep my covenant
and my testimony that I shall teach them,
their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
For the Lord hath chosen Zion;
he hath desired it for his habitation.
This is my rest for ever:
here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
I will abundantly bless her provision:
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation:
and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

There will I make the horn of David to bud:
I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
His enemies will I clothe with shame:
but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

Jesus Christ, He is referred to as the Horn of David, the Horn of our Salvation, and the little horn of Daniel 7.

.

Now let’s take a moment to look at the little horn, the mouth speaking great things.

Daniel 7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Now the translation of this verse can be misleading when simply read, because it says he shall speak great words against the Most High, and our minds with modern English tend to view the meaning of the word against as being in opposition to the Most High. But that is not the meaning of the Hebrew word translated as against. The better translation of the Hebrew would be to speak great words concerning the Most High.

h6655. צַד ṣaḏ; (Aramaic) corresponding to 6654; used adverbially (with preposition) at or upon the side of: — against, concerning.
AV (2) - concerning 1, against 1;
(Bible Tree study app. KNJV Strongs)

Ezekiel 29:21
In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Psalms 89:20-28
I have found David my servant;
with my holy oil have I anointed him:
With whom my hand shall be established:
mine arm also shall strengthen him.
The enemy shall not exact upon him;
nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
And I will beat down his foes before his face,
and plague them that hate him.
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him:
and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
I will set his hand also in the sea,
and his right hand in the rivers.
He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father,
my God, and the rock of my salvation.
Also I will make him my firstborn,
higher than the kings of the earth.

My mercy will I keep for him for evermore,
and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

Matthew 7:28-29
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Matthew 13:53-54
And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

John 15:15
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

And He shall speak great words concerning the Most High.

And shall wear out the saints of the Most High

h1080. בְּלָא ḇelâ’; (Aramaic) corresponding to 1086 (but used only in a mental sense); to afflict: — wear out.
AV (1) - wear out 1;
(Bible Tree study app. KNJV Strongs)

To wear out in the mental sense. He opened his mouth in parables.

Matthew 13:34-36
All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

The disciples needed everything explained to them, and yet they still did not understand. They would not understand these things until after the Holy Spirit had come.

.

Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Matthew 5:21-22
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Matthew 5:27-28
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Matthew 5:33-35
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

Not only did he think to change times and laws, but he taketh away the old covenant that he might establish his new covenant.

Luke 1:68-75
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel;
for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us
in the house of his servant David;

As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets,
which have been since the world began:
That we should be saved from our enemies,
and from the hand of all that hate us;
To perform the mercy promised to our fathers,
and to remember his holy covenant;

The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies
might serve him without fear,
In holiness and righteousness before him,
all the days of our life.

Hebrews 8:13
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Matthew 26:26-28
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Daniel 7:25
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

And they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time, or as in the NKJV, until a time and times and half a time. We know the disciples walked with Jesus for three and half years before he was crucified.

And they shall be given into his hand:

John 17:9-12
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

.

Daniel 7:11
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

Daniel 7:26
But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

But the judgement shall sit. His judgement was given to the people, and the people chose Barabbas. He was sent to the cross, King of the Jews. His dominion was taken from him. Jesus, this little horn, crucified, the beast slain. I do not wish to go there now, but when you understand that Jesus is referred to here as the beast the was slain, then you might begin to understand the beast that had the deadly wound and did live.

Matthew 20:18-19
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

Matthew 21:33-39
Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

Daniel 7:9-10
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Revelation 1:15-17
And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Revelation 4:2-5
And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

Revelation 5:11-12
And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Revelation 5:4-10
And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
And when he had taken the book
, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

.

Daniel 7:12
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

Once the little horn, the Horn of David was caught up to the throne and given the everlasting kingdom, the rest of the beasts had their dominion taken away.

Daniel 7:13-14
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Ephesians 1:17-21
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Jesus Christ is the little horn of Daniel 7, and yet not a single comment. Perhaps they do not care to know anything about the kingdom of the Horn of David. Maybe people are more interested in learning about some Anti-Christ figure than they are about the Lord and savior in whom they profess to believe. Who knows?

Daniel 7:7-8
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

The fourth beast of Daniel, is a beast different from the others before it. This fourth beast is under the authority of the little horn, who happens to be Jesus Christ, the Horn of David, and an horn of salvation.

Daniel 7:17-19
These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

The fourth beast, the fourth king to arise out of the earth was the Son of David, who was crucified for our sins and then caught up to the right hand of God where He has been given all power and authority and dominion. And His is an everlasting kingdom, where the heavens are his throne and the earth his footstool. The fourth beast is diverse from all the others, for only this king was both crucified and resurrected, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. To understand the fourth beast of Daniel, you must look to Christ. For by his Spirit do the saints posses the kingdom for ever.

.

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Revelation 1:2
Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

Revelation 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 19:9-10
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

What does it mean when it says to have the testimony of Jesus Christ? What is the testimony of Jesus Christ? Certainly it must be more than saying you believe in his death and resurrection. They are they which testify of me. Do you have the testimony of Jesus?

.

Jesus Christ, He is referred to as the Horn of David, the Horn of our Salvation, and the little horn of Daniel 7.
25‘He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time. 26‘But the court will sit for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever." (Daniel 7:25-26 NASB bold and underline mine)
Christ has his dominion taken away and annihilated and destroyed forever?

I think Christ is spoken about in the very next verse:

"27‘Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.’" (Daniel 7:27 NASB bold and underline mine)

Jesus Christ, He is referred to as the Horn of David, the Horn of our Salvation, and the little horn of Daniel 7.
If I remember correctly, salvation in Jesus Christ is likened to the horns of the altar in the Mosaic temple which a (guilty?) person could grasp and be safe. I don't remember a reference off hand, but there are cases in the OT where people would flee to grasp the horns of the altar for protection.

Jesus Christ, He is referred to as the Horn of David, the Horn of our Salvation, and the little horn of Daniel 7.
No.

Look what happens to the horn of Daniel 7:
Dan 7:11 I looked then because of the sound of the great words which the horn was speaking. And as I looked, the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.

The horn was from the head of the beast.

Jesus' body is not destroyed and then given over to be burned with fire.

But the court will sit in judgement, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever.

You ask: Christ had his dominion taken away forever?

The short answer to that question is yes, he did. As the Son of Man and rightful and lawful heir to the throne of David according to the kingdoms of this world, as King of the Jews, he was brought before the governors and found innocent, but was turned over to the court of the people, and they chose to crucify their King, taking away his dominion forever.

But Jesus told them his kingdom was not of this world. So while they though to take away his dominion forever, Jesus was given dominion over both the heavens and earth, and while he rules from heaven he has given his dominion to the saints, but as a Man, he will never sit on an earthly throne.

Part of the conversation between the risen Christ as the stranger on the road to Emmaus with some disciples.

Luke 24:19-21
And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

.

This is part of a vision given to Daniel. You say no, so what is your objection? That his body was given to be destroyed? Or that it was given over to be burned with fire? Why do you find that imagery so difficult to accept?

Was not Jesus Crucified and put to death?

Was he whipped and scarred so that his visage was unrecognizable?

It is said that Jesus bore the punishment for our sins, and yet the scripture tells us that for those who don't believe in the Faith of Christ, they shall meet their judgement in the lake of fire. So if punishment is the lake of fire, and Jesus bore that punishment for my sins, then it could be said he bore the lake of fire in my stead. But then again, it is written that God is a consuming fire.
